Played Friday 7-13-12 The course went back to the old starting 9 with the elevated par 5 as the #1 hole. Went out as a 3 some at 7am with no one in from of us. Finished in 3 hours and 35 minutes. It was very humid and that was actually about 20 minutes too fast. The humidity actually wore you out. Course was in great shape. Greens were really soft because of the over night rain. Fairways were very green.

The starter and marshalls are friendly along with some of the original employees of the previous management. The golf shop leaves something to be desired. Seems to be an "arrogance" with some of the new staff.

I would recommend playing here right now due to the conditions, just expect a long round and possibly a poor attitude in the golf shop.

Teed off at 10:00 AM, round lasted 5 hours. Typical weekend round length here. Only saw the beverage cart once, but not near enough to us so we couldn't get anything. The marshal was driving around with cold water though, which was nice. The course conditions left a lot to be desired, especially for the $66 weekend rate they charge. Overall, the place was pretty soggy, with some areas downright wet and muddy. The fairways were mown nicely with no dead spots, but were a little wet for my liking. The rough was evil. Very lush, very thick, and tough to do much more than just punch out in a lot of cases. Easy to lose balls in some portions of the rough. The bunkers were pretty nice, damp sand on top but soft stuff directly beneath. The greens...all I can say is don't expect them to be anything like the practice green. Or like each other. The practice green was smooth and quick, the actual greens were pretty bumpy and very slow. Some slower than others, really inconsistent. They did hold shots well though. Everyone in my group was leaving putts short all day, we just could not believe that each green seemed slower than the previous one. Customer service was a high point of the round, we were treated well from the moment we arrived to when we left. Pro shop, starter, marshal, club cleaner and bartender were all friendly and pleasant. This is the closest public course to my house...I would play here way more often if the price was more in line with the experience. This is a maximum $40 course in my opinion. $66 is too much to get me to return any time soon.

Like the review before this one, course in good condition except no consistency on greens. Why does it take 1/2 an hour to get a hamburger for lunch? Slow cook or waitress, not sure which. Good way to spend the morning before going to work. Will do it again. Come on daylight savings!!!!

Played 1/15/12 and all I can is it's ok. This is not my kind of course. There is just too many goofy holes for me. Up hill, down hill, side hill. The best part about the course is the greens, but that doesn't make up for the rest. Forty five minutes from Pasadena and there a lot of courses that I could play that I like a lot better.

Played on 12/24 and pace was not bad but course was in poor shape. Greens were good however tee boxes and fairways were in poor shape. this is a challenging course for those of you who have not played it and if you break 90 here you have had a good day..staff was good and food in clubhouse was very good along with awesome cold beer. This course is not worth the $66 bones it cost to play here.

Played a 5.5 hour round yesterday. To be expected because of the holidays. The food and drink in the clubhouse were well priced and refills on soda were only $1. Greens were in fair shape. The course in general is not in very good shape. Rough and Fairways were thin and just in bad winter shape. The sand traps needed more sand. Pace of play is horrible here...because of the layout...some tricky dog leg holes with many elevation changes. Some of the hole are very gimicky although different. Customer service was spot on. Joe was pleasant to deal with. For a steep discount, I would return.

Also, for the the adventurous, I dare you to have a drink @ Fox Fire Chophouse (nearby) after your round...it's a big time cougar den. Happy Hunting.
