Played Monday morning, 4/26, teeing off at 7:40 and finishing in 4:05. The greens were in good condition rolling mostly smooth, medium/fast speed, and held shots. The fairways have good coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was long enough to affect shots but not too penal. The bunkers had good sand and were groomed. Course worker was going around raking the bunkers. The tee boxes had decent coverage and were reasonably level. Driving range and practice putting greens open. Single rider carts. The staff was friendly.

Our regular group played the Classic Course on 11/4 with an early 6:50 tee time. A cool, damp morning with a little fog but shortly after turned into a very nice day. Always a friendly staff here and tee boxes are well organized on both courses. Walked for $41.

This course is great shape right now. We must have caught the fairways just after the mowers because all were cut down just right. Excellent coverage on the fairways so the lies were great. Tee boxes were a bit thin but overall I was fine with them. Being in the rough was not a big deal. Very playable. Bunkers were mixed – most were just fine but a couple were damp and hard packed. Fully expected considering there a no rakes.

The greens were really nice. Holding good shots (even not so good shots), rolling very well and a little on the fast side I thought.

I have always found this course fun to play but challenging for me. A lot trees line the fairways so no fun being there but I was hitting it well on this day. Still nothing crazy difficult here. Some length required on some holes. This is about as good as I have seen this course and hopefully, it will stay this was for a while. Definitely go play soon.

Teed off Monday shortly after 7am and finished in 3:40. Heavy Santa Ana winds made the day more challenging than normal. The greens had plenty of pines needles and other tree parts scattered about. Too much to brush the putting line clean. However, the greens did run medium/fast and held shots. The fairways had good coverage with a few brown and thin spots. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers were a bit crusty and compacted but playable. The tee boxes are thin in spots and a bit chewed up on the par threes.

The cafe is open. The driving range and practice putting green are open. Face masks in common areas. Single rider carts unless riding with family member. Walk-ons are allowed for the waiting list. The staff was friendly.

Played this morning, 10/13 at 10:00AM. They are promoting single riding carts but you can rid together if you want to. POP was good, we finished under 4 hours, it wasn't that busy on the classic side.... Continue »

Played this morning, 10/13 at 10:00AM. They are promoting single riding carts but you can rid together if you want to. POP was good, we finished under 4 hours, it wasn't that busy on the classic side. The only complaint I have about this place is they wont really let you check in early. I usually arrive 45 mins early to warm up and I like to hit until just about 5 minutes before my tee time and walk to the box, well here at Mile Square anything before 15 minutes and they wont let you pay. They say it is too early, what that means exactly I have no idea but when I questioned it they never have a straight answer. I am literally trying to give them money and they say no, not yet. Pretty annoying because then I have to cut my warmup short and wait in line to pay after they call my name over the louder speaker. Very strange.
Course itself is great, the fairways are in excellent condition as are the greens.

Teed off at 6:50 on Monday finishing in 3:45. The greens were in great condition. They rolled smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. So nice to putt on greens rolling faster than medium. The fairways had good coverage with some thin/brown areas. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The rough was thick enough to affect shots but not too penal. The bunkers were very wet but playable. The tee boxes are fair to good. Some mild unlevelness and some were a bit chewed up.

The driving range is open. The ball machine accepts payment for balls. The practice putting green next to the starter shack is open for those playing golf. The cafe is open with added outdoor seating. Masks required in common areas. Single rider carts. Staff was friendly.

Teed off at 8am finishing in 3:50. First time back to Mile Square since covid reopening. The greens were in good condition. They rolled smooth with medium speed and held shot. As previously noted the greens prior to covid ran a bit faster. The slower speeds make some of the down hill puts less stressful but I still prefer them to roll faster. The fairways had good coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was good and not too penal. There are some thin/bare spots along the fairways but very good around the greens. The tee boxes were fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness. I found three greenside bunkers today. All three bunkers had adequate sand and were groomed aside from the footprints.

I have always enjoyed the Classic course. The gentleman in the proshop, as far as he knows, said the plans to have just one course by the end of the year is still going to happen. The putting green and short game area are closed. The driving range is open and you can purchase balls directly from the machine. The cafe is open for patio dining. The cafe has put several extra tables on the grass across from the patio to expand the outside dining. The staff was friendly.

Out early to beat the heat. Easy efficient check in - staff as usual friendly and accommodating. Prefer the Classic Course to the Players, so I was enthused to play here. While I still feel the green fees are a bit high, it is Orange County, so compared to everywhere else, not so bad I guess.

Course conditions were good. Greens rolled well, but were slower than expected. Agree with chevelle's opinion that pool noodles would be better than the inverted cups. Fairways had decent coverage, a few bare spots, but overall not complaints. Bunkers had sufficient sand, and the two I found were well manicured. A few tee boxes were a bit chewed up, but did not really affect playability.

Always enjoy Mile Square. Good solid old style traditional golf !

Early morning Wednesday tee time. Course is following all covid requirements. Check in and first tee were right on point. Tee boxes had good coverage and were level. Fairways and rough were very green and lush with the problem being they were very wet from watering. Traps had plenty of sand but had not been raked from the previous day. Greens were receptive to good shots and had good coverage. Very few unrepaired ball marks, medium speed and putts held their lines. POP was 3.5 hours. Course was very busy when we finished.

Tees - mostly level dead grass, very hard, broke many tees
Fairways - mostly green and they were wet so not much run out, a few yellow spots
Rough - medium length not too penal
Bunkers - wet sand but the two I was in actually had some sand
Greens - were a little slow, they have metal which raises the flag and actually affected two putts today, pool noodles are much better
POP: 4:05 which is slow for us here
