Played 1-31-16 9 am $95 POP 3:45 What a great course ! First time playing it and really enjoyed it. Wished I had played better! Fairway's not quite as green as most in the valley, but mostly lush. Re-seeded grass 90% filled in over Bermuda. So they looked a little thin, but played great with good roll. Greens looked fast and were beautiful, but putted I'd say a notch below medium. Many repaired ball marks. Most were a little firm, but would hold well struct shots. We played most about 5 yrds shorter to allow forward bounce. Most traps in good shape. Waste area sand is course sand and tricky to get out of. Very fun layout with a great variety of hole designs. I think a good contender for a future GK Plays ??????? Thanks to dconnally for the recommendation!

Played Thursday, 1/7/2016, on a cool sunny morning/early afternoon. I humped it all the way from OC out to Indio to try to avoid all the rain we’ve been having in SoCal the past few days. I wanted to get a round in before heading to Rams Hill on Sunday, and everywhere I looked early in the week the rain probability on Wednesday and Thursday was 80/90/100%, so I kept looking east until it got down below 50%. I had only played Eagle Falls once, at the GK Heat Bowl a few years ago, and really enjoyed it, so I sucked it up and pointed the car toward Blythe! Man, that’s a long drive, and I don’t have Nickesquire’s mania for long hauls, but fortunately I was going against traffic both ways so the drives were lengthy but not onerous. Tons of snow on the San Bernardino and Joshua Tree Mtns. were a gorgeous sight.

So I pulled out of the driveway on Thursday morning and, of course, the entire LA Basin was clear and gorgeous. Maybe I could have played closer to home, but WHO KNEW? And I didn’t know what type of weather OC would see later in the day. The wife told me they had some rain in OC in the morning on Thursday, and on the way back from Indio I ran into wind and rain squalls around Morongo, but Eagle Falls was clear, sunny, and mild all day, with only a little fresh breeze in the afternoon (in your face on the long 12th and on 17/18). Teed off on time at 10:52 am with a father/son team vacationing from Minnesota, and another single visiting his mother from Seattle. Unfortunately, the course had some rain on Wednesday, so Thursday was cart path only, even though the course was pretty firm everywhere and we never saw any fairway/rough areas that were wet or sloppy. Got a $10 discount for the CPO, so paid $75 after a phone reservation, as they don’t allow single bookings on the website. We had a twosome behind us and a foursome in front – the two declined to play through on #4 so we went at our own pace and finished in 4:15.

Overall the course is in great condition. Greens look great and rolled at medium speed – many subtle breaks here that only repeated plays can solve. The putting green was more lush and slower than the course greens, so we had to adjust, and in my opinion the course greens were a little inconsistent speedwise. The greens were a little too firm for my taste, not holding full shots, and even wedges would hit and release. Fairways were in very good shape, although you did not get a lot of rollout after the recent rain, but good lies everywhere. Rough was cut fairly short and easy to play from, with some areas thinner than others. Tees were level and in great condition – even par 3 tees were generally without severe divot areas. Traps were damp and packed after the rain, and some bunkers had standing water.

Saw the cart girl several times. Starter was organized, efficient, and friendly. Large grass range with complimentary balls. Very good GPS system on the cart, but not as helpful when it’s path only! Cart also has club/ball cleaner and cooler with 2 water bottles (but no water on course, and they want you to purchase if you want more). Rangers moving around course to keep play moving.

Several good scoring opportunities with drivable par 4s and short 5s. But you have to be able to putt these subtle greens, which is a negative for my game – LOL! Highly recommended.

I don't write a lot of reviews but felt compelled to relate my most recent experience here. I am a big fan of Eagle Falls but this year's transition to summer has not been kind here. The usual smooth, near perfect greens are currently very bumpy and bare. The fairways look like the were recently punched in many places and were very firm. Also, much of the sand has been blown out of the bunkers and they are very thin. I would let the greenskeepers do there work here until August to see if it improves.

Played a week or so ago. Always in great shape. Always verdant, putting surfaces in great shape, bunkers well conditioned with soft sand with a firm layer about 3in. down, great customer service. Very few people on the course---I teed off at 7:30---done at 11. If you havent played it and are a fan of really really nice course conditions--go check it out. Design is typical palm springs but conditions are above and beyond.

2nd round of the day, my 1st time playing here. Played the Eagle tees (6715/72.8/133) in 4H, 20M on a very busy weekday afternoon. The weather was perfect, low 70's with almost no wind. The customer service was exceptional. The starter was very organized and on top of things, the groups were going off on time like clockwork. They have your name and tee time printed up waiting for you on the carts. There was a staff of cart people who transported your clubs from/to the parking lot and cleaned them after the round. Both the marshall and drink cart were very present throughout the round. Complementary range balls are included with your golf fees. The carts were newer with advanced GPS including a video tour of each hole with tips on how to best play the hole. My only complain was being bombarded by ads so you constantly had to reset the GPS. The greens looked exceptional from afar and they putted as good as they looked. Firm, medium fast with few ball marks. Many greens had some pin placements where you could expect some fairly severe breaks. The fairways were lush, I usually had good, cushy lies. The rough was also lush. If you missed the fairway, you hoped the rough caught it, because most holes have native areas that they play like a water hazard penalty where your ball is likely gone. There is also a generous amount of water hazards on this course, there are almost no holes where penalty shots are not just waiting to jump up and bite you on anything crooked. The traps were well maintained with nice sand. There were many individual holes that I really liked on this course. However, I would have to mark the layout down overall for it's unusual way of getting to a par of 72... Three par 3's, three par 5's and TWELVE par 4's. They do not offer twilight rates here. $85 during the week and $95 on the weekend is steep, but this course justifies that compared to other area courses and their rates. I would definitely play here again.

Fun and challenging track for me.... Played forward one set of tees at suggestion of starter given my 24 handicap. 119 slope and about 6000 yards I think. It is a pleasure to reach the green in regulation and really helps pace of play if you face reality and play the tees you should be playing. I leave the tips to the guys with big egos. Pace of play was great but expected since it is triple digit temps here in the desert now. Course in great shape. Didn't mind the pro shop residing in a doublewide trailer. Staff very polite. Plenty of water and restrooms on the course. Bring extra balls if you tend to spray your fairway shots because it is rattlesnake territory and you really don't want to be poking around under bushes looking for your lost ball.... Now on my list of favorites here in the desert. Don't pass this one up it is well worth playing. Bet you can't resist playing it again. Check online for reduced rates and enjoy. I would like to see more reduced rates in the hot summer months though.

Tee boxes are in good shape but there is some sand divots on every tee box. Fairways are in good shape and there is very little rough on the course now. Sand traps are starting to get hard and the greens are starting to get brown. They still putt well.

Played on Memorial Day weekend. I love this place! Tee to green in excellent shape. Greens a little on the slow side, but pretty true. I've never been disappointed playing here. Highly recommended.

Played here Sun (3/23) about 8:30 am. Course is in nice shape from tee to green. Practice facilities are terrific. Greens rolled smoothly but were just a bit slow for my preference (prob about 8). I enjoy the layout, good mix of short and long holes gets you to use all clubs in bag. Also good yardage from front tees for my wife (under 5000 yards). If you are in the area, this is a good choice and a good value.
