2/26 guru outing and gk match playing with Steve from the whites while Nick and David challenged the blues. Enjoyed the company but found the course to play as difficult as I remember where some marginally wayward shots exacted maximum punishment.
Fairways have been colored to cover the dormant condition. Played fairly well with descent lies even being on the thin side. Rough was more of an issue in areas around the greens. Tees were on the thin side rather hard and some were significantly mounded or sloped. Found 1 fairway bunker nice and firm and 1 greenside with deep heavy sand.
Greens on the front 9 were slick firm and fast 2nd 9 most seemed different softer with more grain slowed to medium fast and occasionally a little bumpy. Greens are huge with a lot of contour and humps. Very much a challenge. POP 415
Friendly staff from check in to starter to cart assistant. Snack cart made several rounds.
Driving range had a grass area for irons only and mats for your driver. Putting green rolled about on course speed but with out the contour. Interactive GPS .

Played 2-26-20 with GK guru round. Course played well. The fairways looked odd. Don't know if it was sprayed for color or over seeded but they played well. Soft lies for the most part. The heavy grass around the greens was thick and tough to play. Most of the rough was thick but not too penal. Greens showed signs a verticut but rolled nice with good speed. Wasn't in a bunker all day though I rolled through a couple. Tough layout with a few blind shots and hazards all around. Keep it in play or else! Fun layout with large greens on most holes.

Rode the Blues (6279/70.4/131) with Dconnally, Gary00 and Sbogey in 4H, 15M for two GK Cup matches today. The weather was sunny, breezy and around 80. Thanks to John for coordinating with Eagle Glen to set this up. Like the hilly layout, lots of elevation changes and the large greens are challenging. Some forced carries and a few blind shots. Most holes have red hazards with lost ball bushes down both sides, but most are not overly tight. The front 9 is more target golf, the back 9 more wide open. The tees were okay. Several needed divot repair and the back had several tees that looked to be maintained higher than the front? The Bermuda fairways were sprayed green and generally played better than they look. Mostly winter thin with a few bare spots here and there that were marked GUR. The mostly Bermuda rough was thinner than the fairways but still had adequate coverage. Mowed down, not overly penal. The fairway traps were hard packed and good to play from except for an excessive amount of rocks. The green side sand traps were decently maintained with a much higher quality sand. The poa annua greens on the front looked to have been recently vericutt and seemed faster and firmer that the greens on the back IMO. The front was smoother and putted medium fast speed. The back greens spongier and more medium speed. They were fairly smooth and held well struck irons with some run out. The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making numerous rounds. Plenty of water stations on the course. Dave and I grabbed a snack afterward, good service and the food was decent. GPS got stuck on hole 12, noticed my phone app also quit around the same place on the course, so maybe poor cell reception in that area? This would be a very challenging course to walk, combination of the hills and the sheer distance from some greens to the next tee. Fun layout, recommended.

Pace of play was good at 4.5 hours
Saw the cart girl 1 time and it wasn't until hole 17 on the green.
Clubhouse staff was friendly
GPS On cart stopped working on hole 12, had to change our cart.

Now review of the conditions;
Greens- 10/10 - Hardest fastest greens I've ever played. Nothing stayed on them and they were a 10 for speed. They ran smooth but these greens were TOUGH!
Fairways- 8/10 most have coverage, some had some bare spots, ball rolled out on them forever which was nice for drives.
Rough- 8/10- Basically normal rough. Not too long and was visible in some places but not in others.
Tee Boxes- 9/10 - Excellent condition, very to little damage on them and they were level.
Sand- 7/10- some had some rocks in them but most were fluffy and were able to get out of them.
water- didnt smell

Played 2/20 with a 10:00am tee time. Proshop and starter very pleasant, paired up with a couple of Orange County deputies!
Interesting course with a lot of elevation changes on the front nine, more flat on mostly dormant which meant a lot of roll, sometimes into trouble! The tees were mainly flat with some bare patches and the traps were a mix of hard and very hard. The greens were in generally good shape and ran quite fast.
As a new player on this course if we hadn’t been paired with folks with previous knowledge we might be still out there on hole 2, CPO and the GPS was not very helpful.
Took 5 hours to play, saw a marshal once who said it was busy...no kidding.
Overall a good experience despite the 5 hours!

Played Monday. Weather cool. Course looks about as good as I've seen it this time of year. Fairways are tight resulting in lots of roll. Ball sits up for perfect lies. Greens are very receptive and hold well. The greens are very tight , also, and as a result roll fast and true. POP was a little slow due to the MLK holiday. Good deal thanks to greenskeeper.org - $35 which includes range balls and the option to buy a sleeve of Pro V1's for another $5. It's a regular course in my groups rotation, and we are always treated well.

5 hour round early morning. A 3 behind 2 foursomes. All being held up by a 2some, yes! A 2some. Marshal a waste and starter could not care less.!!!!!

Played 12/18/19 at 0710... It was freakin' cold in the beginning! (43 degrees)- golf is so much harder when you can't feel your hands... Cart path only for holes 1 and 2. Tee boxes were not very level. Fairways were thin with tight lies, rough nonexistent- only 1-2" longer than the fairway. Sand was good in the 3 bunkers I was in, but they did have a lot of rocks in them. The greens were really good, they rolled nice and became really fast on the back 9. Finished in 4.75 hours behind 2 slow groups.

Played Fri Nov 22 at 7am, check in very fast and friendly. Love the view of hole 1 since the tee on the right has been removed. We played the whites which is the correct tees since 2 of us were below 90 and 2 were above 90, distance of course doesn't matter, skill level does. POP was not good at 420 as the group in front of us was rediculous on the greens, puttering 12" putts like it was for the masters. Saw them in restaurant after with 4 others so must have been playing for money. Tee boxes were uncut and very long, on par 3's you had to use a tee or it was like hitting out of the rough. Fairways were very thin and ran like crazy, you had to know the course or you could get into trouble. 18 was just plain unfair, aim to the left of the pole and you were safe, hit 12" to the right of the pole and you rolled into the water. I wasn't in any bunkers so can't comment. Greens were very fast but bumpy. When you replaced your ball many times it would settle into a hole, they need more time to heal. It seems every coure we play needs more time for the greens to heal this year, had to be the weather.
