Got out at 9:40 using the GK coupon. (great deal by the way. thanks GK) I really like this course because it is challenging without being unfair. the tee boxes and the greens were great today but they do need to work on the bunkers. Hard packed (sand?) was what I saw mostly and what I dealt with when I got in one. Also, I can't figure out why Dos Lagos has pretty green fairways while Eagle Glen has a mixture of dry brown and green grass. They're on opposites sides of the 15 fwy. We played in 4hrs 15 min. I recommend playing here, preferably with the GK coupon.

Teed it up with fellow GK’ers Ron, Steve and Jerry and as usual, had a good time. I always liked playing Eagle Glen as the layout is fun and challenging. It was cloudy and cool on this day which I thought took away from the beauty of this course. Near the end of our round the sun came out and you can see the course is really greening up. The last time I played here, late last summer, it was pretty browned out. Not the case today. Although not super lush, it is starting to look good.

Always love playing Bermuda fairways and these are in good shape. Not a lot of cushion under the ball but not hardpan either. Tee boxes were just so so. Decent coverage but not always level. There really wasn’t much rough to speak of and if you strayed away from the fairways near the cart path, you were in hard pan or dirt. Was only in one bunker and it was in very condition.

The greens rolled nicely but were pretty hard and on the slow side. As slow as I have ever seen them. Usually, they are much faster.

The setting for this course is spectacular. There are some beautiful views from the high elevations. Always fun and challenging, you can’t spray the driver or you will be in the unplayable weeds. And the restaurant is great as well. Got a huge breakfast for $8. Recommend and looking forward to the next time out here.

Great time out at Eagle Glen Golf Club with fellow GK’ers Thursday. Teed up early morning, 6:10am start (finished in under 4 hours), was June gloom most of the day but cleared up for the last few holes. I love the layout and get excited to play it in Spring/Summer especially when the fairways turn green. They have a type of bermunda turf in the fairways that craves warm weather to flourish. It’s been an oddly cold Spring/Early Summer so it took much longer than normal for the fairways to pop green. I know they have been doing extra work with the fairways over the last few years such as aerating them and giving them more water. From reading reviews there is an improvement. They are green now and they will be improving as the Summer goes on. However at this time the fairways are mostly firm and thin. Eagle Glen Golf Club does have very good greens (firm, mostly smooth, medium speed) and good all other conditions, combined with an excellent clubhouse, service and food. It’s a great golf experience I highly recommend. If you play Monday – Wednesday check out the rocking GK Coupon deal posted.

Played early Thursday morning 620 with fellow GKers Johnny, blakej824, and weber. First time playing with any of them and they made me feel very conformable as they played the blues and I played the whites. Really had a good time. POP was good at 345. Tee boxes on whites were ok, a few par 3's were a little chewed up, but mostly they were ok. Played very early so there was moisture on the course and it affect the roll out on the fairways, which were mostly thin with a few bare spots. As on June 10th when i played here some holes were still roped off. I played here April 12th and the greens were very hard and very very fast, in that review I stated too fast for some of the undulations, I played here june 10 and the first 2 holes were very slow, like Thursday, but then the sun came out and by the back 9 they were fast. The greens this time were very hard, next to no ball marks and very slow, the sun didn't come out until after we finished so that may have dried them up and sped them up as it did june 10. Overall if you play the whites, meaning hitting driver 200 to 225, which you should play the whites, this is a course that takes some course knowledge and course management, probably only 4 driver holes each side. I want to thank Johnny for this outing and once again thank weber, blakej824 and Johnny for a very fun day.

Played 6-27-19 with Steve, Larry, and Jerry early morning in a GK group finishing in about 3 hours and 40 minutes. Tee boxes were okay, most had decent coverage with some thin areas, did have to search for a level stance on quit a few but eventually found one. Fairways were a mix of good and bad, there were some real nice lies, some thin lies, and some bare spots, there was a good amount of roll out though. hopefully with warmer weather the Bermuda will start to flourish. Rough along fairways is just like the fairways, rough around greens is a little longer in some spots but bare and thin in others. Was not in any bunkers but they looked okay. Greens were a little inconsistent in both speed and firmness, mostly on the slow side and mostly semi-firm with some soft areas making it a little difficult on how to approach the hole.
Course has a good variety of long and short holes with some reachable par fives and good par threes. Hope to see they course keep improving on conditions.

The rough was hit and miss (doesn't really exist). Bunkers had a good layer of sand so getting out was no problem at all. Will definitely be back.

Early morning round on Thursday with GK'ers Johnny, Blakej824 & Chevelle. Very pleasant easy going group of guys to play with, making for an enjoyable round of golf. Decent pace of play at 3 hours 45 minutes.

I very much like playing Eagle Glen. I find the scenery to be really nice, no homes adjacent to the course, which is always a huge plus. The course is interesting, presents enough of a challenge to maintain your interest without being so penal as to make it difficult. Nice mix of holes, almost none of which run parallel to one another.

Having played here fairly often, I was surprised that the greens, while being firm, were so slow? They rolled decently, not great, but OK. Fairways still have some issues, which Blakej824 pointed out in his review. Several tee boxes need to be leveled. Did not find any bunkers, but they appeared reasonably good.

Staff is always great here and very accommodating. One of my favorite courses to play along the 15 corridor.

Played Eagle Glen on 6/27/18 with GK Guru's Jerry, Larry & Ron. Another fun round with these guys. I get mixed feelings on Eagle Glen, but in the end it is still a great layout in a great location. Conditions are very hit and miss right now.

I came out here about a month ago, only to go elsewhere when I found out 9 was closed for water jetting of the greens. So I was surprised today when there was quite a bit of evidence of standard aeration. Fortunately, the pins weren't in those areas. Greens were moderate speed, a bit slow, and rolled pretty well.

Fairways were actually better than I've seen here in my last few trips. Still very hard in spots, but in general the grass is good although a bit tighter than I prefer. Rough is very hit and miss - some spots are fine, some are really ragged. Tee boxes are fine, no concerns there.

I still regard Eagle Glen as one of my favorite tracks. It is a rare treat in SoCal to find a course with no houses around. The layout is very fun, and except for a couple of tight holes there is plenty of land to let it fly. Let's hope the conditions get turned around and make this place one of the best in the area.

Played in 3.5 hrs this early AM with Johnny, Keith and Tom. Awesome guys if you ever get a chance to play with them. Didn't go into the proshop today, but the staff here is usually nice especially at the restaurant. I was excited when I saw a clear delineation between fairway and rough on hole 1 unfortunately it proved to be a red herring.

Tees: Just ok, mostly level with bordering on profuse divot damage on some. 4/10
Rough: After the first hole, the same old here. Cant tell where the fairways end and rough begins. On par with an average city course. 5/10
Bunkers: The one I was in was just fine. Ample sand, worked nice. 6/10
Fairways: The low point, but Johnny gave some detail on why they have trouble maintaining them. Apparently once Troon stopped managing the course 10+ year ago they just never aerated the fairways. Only started aerating them again the last few years. I will give them a pass for now. 4/10
Greens: Odd. Firm yet slow. Not very receptive but that is the expected norm for this place. What was off was how slow they were. We all left putts short all day. Mostly smooth with some bumpy areas. They need a nice cut and roll. 6/10

Overall I would say its a 5/10 right now. That pains me as the bones here are wonderful, especially the back. I can't say I'd recommend right now, but I will definitely return to see if there are improvements.
