Played today, 8-23-04. The Goose is one of my favorite courses. Great value, great staff, great layout and the course is in good condition. Except for some of the greens. And it is because of the age old problem of guys not fixing their ball marks. What is it? Are todays golfers becoming so lazy and dont give a d%mn . It is really sad. There were 3 in our group and on some of the greens we fixed 2 and 3 ball marks a piece. Other than that, we had a great day and even finished in 3 hours and 51 mintutes!

The Goose is still in the running for "The So. Cal. Course I Choose To Play Most Often" award. It runs neck-and-neck with Oak Quarry and Rustic Canyon as favorites of ours. Great conditions at G.C.G.C., as always, at least it was as of the day we played (8/7/04). And, as always.....the greens take a pounding and there are just too many idiots do not fix their ball-marks. What is it...? Are people not learning the finer-points of the game?? I was always taught the importance of fixing ball-marks when they are fresh. Been playing our beloved game for 33-years now - and this is becoming the worst epidemic of rude golfers I have ever seen (and that's saying a lot - I was raised playing at Rancho Park!)

I guess the greenskeepers are keeping up the best they can. Overall - The Goose is just a fine track and really a value for your money!

Fix an extra two or three ball-marks while you are out there!

Very playable course, with generous landing areas for tee shots. It's a place where you can score well and will never come away feeling beaten up by the layout, but it isn't a gimme by any means. Several tee shots require decision-making, with risk-reward options. A very interesting design on a flat piece of land. Among Southern California's best deals. A great course to walk. There is a rural element that might bother some; flies from the nearby dairy farm and accompanying smells, but that's a minor element when compared to the quality of the course.

Fairways and tees in excellent shape, most of the bunkers have very playable sand, but the greens are a bit bumpy. Still, this remains one of the Southland's best values, and a great course to walk.

Greens are taking a hammering due to so much play. I fixed 3-5 bad ball-marks on each and every green! Fresh ones, too!! I think the staff is doing a great job considering how popular The Goose has become. It's up to US to keep the good courses nice. Let's not let Goose Creek become "Rancho Park East" !!

Hands down the best course in Riverside or the surrounding area for the money. Go there you won't / can't be dissapointed by this place.

However, you can't ignore: 1) the smell; 2) the fact that it's right next to a dairy farm and the cows are staring at you on some holes; 3) the nasty flies. If you don't mind the smell, the cows, and the flies, this course is a gem. Otherwise, you might want to pass on this course.
