A few days late with this review, but we played Goose on Friday 11/24 at 8:24am. Check-in is always a breeze here and the pro-shop guys are great. All grass range was perfect and not very busy that early in the morning. Teed-off on time and the first few fairways were just slightly long but we saw the mowers later in the round. Great coverage and visible difference between the lush rough. Tees were great, and the new tees being built on #3, 4, 8, 11, 17 are in different stages of readiness. Greens were great. I didn't hit any bunkers so I can't talk about those.... and actually had my best round ever at Goose. POP was right at 4 hours 30 minutes which is great for a busy day like Black Friday. We'll be back in 2018 for sure.

Played Fri Nov 17th at 651. There was a mix up as our name was not on that tee time. The gentleman behind the counter was great and got us out right behind 651, he even greeted us at 18 and apoligized again and hope we had a good round. Great service!!!! POP was great at 338 and we walked. I played here Oct 30th and said they needed 3 more weeks, well it was 18 days and I thought the course was in real good shape. Tee boxes and fairways mowed and nice, greens healed, receptive and rolled nice. Traps are still an issue as i still didn't have to rake the dirt on 12 and 14 traps that I was in. Slight rain on the 1st 6 holes, then sun what a great day, even though I played like crap LOL

Played The Goose this afternoon. Today was the last day of CPO so I wanted to get out there because I knew it was going to be as good as it gets. I was not disappointed. This place is in awesome shape. The condition of the course is up there with any course I have EVER played. I have played here 4-5 times over the last 3 weeks and it has been interesting to see the overseeding process and the transformation from week to week.

There isn't really much I can say about the course. Tee boxes - Excellent, Fairways - PGA Tour quality, Greens - Perfect. What more can we ask for? Hats off to the grounds crew! Well done! I was thoroughly impressed.

Played 11/5/17 at 7am. POP was 3.5 hours and we only really hit a 3-some who kindly let us play through. Was on 6 fairway when someone made a hole-in-one on 4 that was fun to watch. Everyone here is nice but the course is still recovering from overseed. Cartpath only at this time.

Tees: Were very long but evenly leveled. Some tee boxes the grass was almost as long as my ball tee'd up for a driver which is saying something. Still they will be great in a few weeks when cut.
Fairways: Pretty close to prefect. Evenly green with hardly any divot spots to mention. Could also use a shaving though as they were a little long which precluded any roll out.
Rough: 2-3 inches, even throughout. About a club difference.
Bunkers: Wasn't in any but my playing partner was in the greenside one at 10 and commented it was very thin.
Greens: Roll was pure and putted medium speed. You could still see the aeration holes but it didn't affect play at all. They'll be perfect in another week or two.

Even though its clear the course is still recovering, this is a great place worth the green fee at its current condition. In a few weeks it'll be pure, but I wouldn't avoid it by any means as is.

Played Mon Oct 30th as a walking walk on, check in was very nice as they put me ahead of a 3 some to catch up with another walking twosome who I caught on the second tee box. I knew the course was cart path only because the fairways were recovering, and was ok with this as I always walk this course anyway. The greens were punched about 3 weeks ago and thought that was enough time to recover. Not... The tee boxes were long as you could see they were also recivering, good flat spots but a little unkept. The fairways were not bad, a little long and thin in some spots. It was the bunkers and greens that was very disappointing. The greens need about 2 to 3 more weeks, very bumpy and the holes are still very noticeable, the ball bounced quit a bit and even turned off line. I was in 5 bunkers and never had to rake them afterwards, meaning the bunkers were nothing but hard dirt. I like goose allot, but the maintenance that is going on right now does not warrant the price. In fact we were going to play there again this Fri but cancelled. I can not see $40 walking until the maintenance is over and goose comes back to the standards we are used to.

Great course! They're in the process of overseeding so the fairways were mulched and brown. Greens were also a little bumpy and slowish but still rolling true enough to not be frustrating. Pace of play for a thursday afternoon was miserable though, and no marshall getting on the 5 hour threesome.

Definitely one of the prettiest courses I've played. Well maintained. Has scenery you can't experience anywhere in southern california being nested a bamboo forest. Has a nice practice facility also... Continue »

Played 9/8 starting a little before 10am with my club.

If felt and looked like lots of water had been put on the course due to the heat from the previous week. Greens good for the most part but some definitely showed some heat stress (#1 and #5 come to mind). Fairways a bit on the soft side so not a ton of roll-out. Rough was typical Goose, not very penalizing. Wasn't in a bunker but they looked very solid. Tee boxes very good apart from some par 3 divots. POP was a nice 4:10. Don't expect perfection on the greens right now until they recover from they sun beating they took last weekend.
