Played Friday afternoon 4/28 in 4.5 POP from the III tees. We were a walking foursome, following a twosome and only had to wait two times(once on #4 due to the drink cart, and once on #17...mainly because there were serious drivers in our group). Don't bother asking for a serious discount on bud light from the drink cart, cause they're not selling it...hmmm.
What a wonderful value...the course is in top shelf shape and the weather this time of year is too. The greens have completely healed from this spring's aeration, roll smooth, they're firm underfoot, but certainly show ball marks from approaches of more than 100 yards(be kind and fix all ball marks). Well struck long iron approaches were showing about a 50/50 expected holding pattern, otherwise, they hold shots well. The entire course is lush, the warm season grasses are really thriving, and all turf is manicured to more competitive levels. Traps are superb, fairways fantastic, rough is competitive(just shy of penal) & tee boxes are terrific. Now is a great time to get ya some goose, highly recommended.

Played it with six friends on a Thursday, we all thoroughly enjoyed the round. We played it in a little under four hours. The course is in great condition, as always, and the greens have fully recovered from aeration. The staff are real pros and the best at what they do to keep the course in such great condition. The best public course in SoCal, tied with Rustic Canyon in Moorpark in that regard, in my opinion.

Always worth the drive from OC to play Goose. Teed off about 10:20 on Thursday morning finishing in 4:25. The greens have recovered well from aerification three weeks ago. The greens rolled smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. Longer shots tended run out a little. The fairways had good coverage and provided decent rollout on tee shots. The rough had good coverage with a few thin/bare spots. The length was long enough to affect shots but not overly penal. The bunkers appeared to be well groomed and in good shape. My playing partners had no complaints. The tee boxes had decent coverage and were mostly level. Goose is a well maintained course with great practice facilities. The staff was friendly.

First time out here on Sat 4/1 at noon as part of a foursome. Finally a perfectly beautiful spring day! Was excited to play here and it did not disappoint. Grabbed a bucket of balls from the pro shop and warmed up on the range. I liked that they had chipping markers on the left side so you could dial in some distances at 20-25 yard intervals. The range uses one of those long continuous mats that you can't get a tee in so for drivers you have to stand in front which is kind of awkward but gets the job done. The course itself from the IV tees doesn't play especially long, but it certainly has its challenges with a number of short par 4s that have risk/reward off the tee. Lots of dog legs! Gotta hit your lines or you'll find yourself in any number of bunkers or be out of position. Fairways are pretty generous for the most part with good roll out, but they're lined with fairly thick rough, so wayward shots can get hung up in them, and there are some OB areas on the edges of a number of holes. Some water trouble lurking out there as well. Fairways were in great condition, bunkers had soft sand, but the one thing that made the day less than a 10/10 was the greens as they'd just been punched a week ago. They were healing nicely but still sandy which made putting a lot more challenging. Rolled fast for the most part but hard to get good lines when it's that bumpy. Wind picked up probably gusting 15-20 mph by the time we reached the back which makes the course play a little longer in, and you have to compensate for it when it's coming from the side, but it just added to the fun. I do wish they had a better mix of par 3 distances as they all sat in the 170ish range save for one that i think played at 150. All in all, about a 4.5 hour round, and a lot of fun was had, and I can't wait to get back

The course is almost perfect as they are hosting the Champions Tour qualifier on Friday. The greens were very firm and fast, downhill puts were really difficult. The rough was lush and the highest I've seen it here, very sticky to hit from. The fairways had great coverage but cut tight and had quite a bit of run out from the tee. Traps were very fluffy and in great condition. The course was really busy but should be normal after next week. Enjoy!

got out here on a weekday morning, my fault didn't check the forecast and there were some strong winds out there up to 20mph gusts or so. this course does things right, with easy and friendly check in, 10 minute tee times, starter that keeps things going. overall pop was 4 hours for 18. course is in very good condition, with tee boxes flat and well mowed. fairways had thinner grass with some divots but even and in good condition with no significant bare spots. not really too much rough to contend with in general. bunkers had nice fluffy white sand. greens are tough here, run fairly quick with break and a number of false fronts and run offs so if you are off with your speed you'll be back down in the fringe area. otherwise pretty open layout and fairly forgiving. always enjoy coming out here, but the 3 club winds today made things a bit rough at times.

Back to Goose Creek to meet up with an old Vegas golf buddy who was passing through the area – he was staying in Moreno Valley and the Goose was about equidistant between us. Generally great weather at 1020 am on Monday, 2/6/23, with just a few holes of blustery north winds. Course conditions remain great, similar to my review from last week, and the greens have become a little more receptive. Also, the course has mowed the green surrounds and it’s much easier to putt or slap a 7-iron from off the green and run it to the pin. Parred the difficult 18th in what is likely my last round before knee surgery, so boom! Always recommended.

Got out to Goose Creek for my first regulation round since Goat Hill last year, with GKer lkmckin at 1pm on Wednesday, 2/1/23. I was expecting a cooler, breezy day and was overdressed for a sunny, pleasant day with a light breeze dropping away as we played the round – a perfect weather day for golf. Paired with 2 amiable local friends and we had a relaxed round in just over 4 hours as play moved steadily and we rarely waited for the group in front of us. Only saw a marshal once – in the past, Goose has frequently been pretty aggressive with the marshaling of slower (and sometimes other) groups, but not today.

The course is in wonderful condition. Even after all the rains we had recently there’s no signs of any runoff/drainage damage anywhere. Greens are fully covered with no bare spots – however, a large area in the center of green #11 looks like it has had a turf repair. Greens today were very firm and cut close, so they were very fast. Our entire group had difficulties with green speeds today, me especially. Recovery chips and pitches from close to the greens almost always hit firmly and ran out. Even full wedges from the fairways generally had substantial release. Several pins were in difficult positions and most greens had a lot of break just around the hole.

Fairway coverage was good and lies were usually fine. Rough was not too long and when dried out was easy to play from. Tees (we played III [White]) were level and pretty firm. Sand looked great in all the bunkers, was pretty well compacted, and was OK to hit from.
New-looking interactive GPS on the comfortable carts with Shark Experience available, which also have a ball washer/club cleaner – nice! The GPS does not show the location of other carts, but does have distance to that day’s pin. They’ve put water jugs back out around the course – also nice!

The course wasn’t that crowded on a Wednesday afternoon and we were offered to tee off 15 minutes early. Friendly staff and clean restrooms. Saw the cart girl 3 times on the front 9 until she packed it in at 3pm.

Hope greens get a little more receptive soon. Always recommended.

Played here 12/2 1pm, and finishing in nearly dark with 4hr POP. Played the III tees (71/69.4/122 6150yds)with friends Ceci, Gil & Larry. Can't make this weekend's GK event, as I have my own birthday party to attend, so off to the Goose for MGF.
Staff and services are all friendly and in tip top shape. I love the practice facilities here. Tees were in good shape. Fairways in excellent shape. Rough was trim and lush. Traps are excellent with brilliant white top sand. Greens were good, you can still see healing from aeration, but they are cut tight and roll smooth, no issue. They were firm and running med-fast...be mindful of down hill putts. We encountered the refreshment cart three times. The pace was steady no real waiting at all. The wildlife were very active, by sight, sound, or both. Finishing 18, in low light, is a whole 'nother experience!
Goose Creek is a high value venue, recommended.
