The Goose! – With the threat of rain all week we got a postcard day and evening for our GK Plays Goose Creek outing 11/17. I was hearing how dialed in the course was after overseeding and those reports were spot on. Let’s pause for a second, would Goose Creek GC tee sheet be full anyway during the 30 days the course closes for overseed? You bet it would. 30 days of lost revenue and accompanying costs to overseed is an enormous sacrifice of capital to make sure the course meets or exceeds its standards. Wow. Thank You Goose Creek GC. It does not go unnoticed. Every aspect of the course was in super shape!

I’m in the process of doing my GK Plays Goose Creek GC recap for our forums and make social media posts. What an epic day that was. Highly recommended for any golfer or group organizer.

Played in the GK Plays on 11/17 and it's one I always look forward to playing. The Goose was in pretty close to immaculate shape, having just come out of reseeding. I always expect lots of mud balls but found very few. Tee boxes were nice and level. Bunkers were full of fluffy white sand, just wish the fairway bunkers were a bit more packed. Greens were excellent, except the late afternoon footprints around the hole.

Overall, I love this course and always have a great time at the GK event here. It's the one course I can make a "down and back" day trip from Vegas to play a round.

Another quality golfing experience this past Friday out at Goose Creek for the GK event. I had the distinct pleasure of teeing it up with Johnny himself, along with Lindsay and Steve for a terrific foursome going out as the last group at 12:30pm.

As always, Goose Creek's warmup facilities are second to none, although unless I was doing something wrong I noticed the mats don't really work to hit driver as you can't use a proper tee? But the range itself and the putting and chipping areas are fantastic.

Course conditions were ideal and the weather not only held up for the entire day, it went nuts with near 80 degree temperatures under blue skies all afternoon. The fairways are in terrific shape, and the rough has some deep areas but was mostly playable. White sand bunkers as far as the eye can see and they play as great as they look. Tee boxes were (we played from the III tees) exemplary - not a single complaint.

Also found the greens to be in very solid shape. They held shots well, rolled true and held their lines quite nicely throughout the day. Speeds were perhaps a bit inconsistent but that's likely because they dried out so much after the previous day's rains. Just a terrific all around facility and conditions that are what you pray for every time you put your clubs in the car.

Always enjoy these outings and getting to meet some new GKers along with catching up with some of the long-time veterans. Will surely be at the next and will never pass up a good chance to play the Goose!

Attended the Goose Creek outing with a buddy who had never seen the course. Seeing the weather reports all week and not knowing what to expect, it turned out to be about as perfect a day one could expect — cloudless, still at the start, light breeze in the middle, still towards the end. The course paired up well with the weather. Tee boxes all clean and level. The fairways were all green, trim, and consistent as to offering a clean lie. Rough was pretty consistent as to cut quality with the first cut playable but a bit of a factor. Where a second cut came it to play, both finding and advancing the ball got tougher. I'm not good out of the sand and so not exactly a bunker aficionado, but these were beautiful — nice, white, slightly course sand that wasn't overly heavy, nor was it too fluffy. Not saying I played well out of the them, but I could get used to them. Where mown to fairway length the green surrounds could be tight for chipping while otherwise it was consistent and presented opportunities. The greens were nice — quick enough but not twitchy and receptive to incoming shots, leaving a pronounced divot. I found a few to fix as I went but the greens were in very nice shape overall. I noticed one green on which there was still the ghost of aeration but don't think it affected anything.

The practice facilities here are very nice and make for a good warm up. Organization of the day was smooth and the starter gave a full rundown before each group teed off. The shadows of the late afternoon sun enhanced the vistas as the day approached sunset and the final event group finished behind us just in time. The post-round gathering and raffle was pleasant and efficient. Goose Creek deserves recognition for maintaining a quality product and Johnny deserves kudos for another enjoyable GK event.

GO TO GOOSE CREEK NOW. Public golf doesn't get much better than this.

Just played Goose yesterday 11-9-23. The course has just reopened from a month long closure for overseeding and aeration of the greens. The coure is in magnificent condition. The tee boxes, fairways, sand traps (luckily I wasn't in any of them lol) and rough were in top condition. My only complaint was the greens. You could tell they had been aerated a few weeks ago instead of a month ago. I had a few putts that should have gone in for birdie and par that missed out because they hit an aeration mark. The wind was crazy yesterday, blowing close to 20mph which made for a challenging but fun round. Can't wait to go back to Goose.

Wife and I finally made it to Goose Creek. Course was very nice, fairways full of good grass and greens putting so true we both shot better than our handicaps. Sand traps around the greens and most fairways were well taken care of and full of softer sand than most all the public courses we play in the Inland Empire. Playing the white (3) tee boxes I found the course to be on the easy side, and my wife playing a combo of (1) and (2) tee boxes also found the course much easier than say Yucapia Valley or Rancho Del Sol. A practice area that could be the best around was a pleasure to discover, only hitting off mats on driving range is never worth the effort. Pitching and chipping along with plenty of putting greens was super. Carts were newer and very nice with good GPS to the flags and set correctly for the days pins was great. Course is super clean and maintained as good or better than most. Beverage cart was around twice on front and back. All in all a GREAT place to play..and we were VERY happy to putt on greens that were as true as you could read. Number 17 and 18 all of a sudden are hard, with 18 being unfairly hard, you par or better 18 from white or blue and your a good golfer.

Played as a single on Saturday, noon tee time. Out on time, paired with 3 good guys. Course is in really nice condition as always. A few places of GUR where new sod has been put in. Greens smooth and true, running medium speed, maybe a tad slow. Fairways in great shape. Was in one fairway bunker- packed, firm sand which is nice for fairway trap. Greenside bunkers looked to have plenty of fluffy sand. Pace was about 4:10. Waited a bit on the group in front.
Nice practice area. Cart service around a few times. One of my favorite courses, won't wait 4 years to get back out here again.

First time back out at Goose Creek in four years this past weekend and it was well worth the wait. The course is still in its usual solid shape, with a few areas in need of a little bit of attention, but nothing that takes away from the great overall experience of the course.

We played from the white (III) tees with our threesome and maintained a nice POP throughout the entire day - never pushing the group in front of us too much, and never really being pushed from behind either. We had nice cart service numerous times as well. The course and its amenities were well worth the $91 greens fee for a small bucket and cart as well.

Greens were in good shape and very consistent throughout the day, but there are some holes that have some GUR areas around them affecting approach shots, such as the par 5 4th hole. But they're mostly very solid. Tee boxes are also flat, level and in good shape, while the fairways and rough are very nice all around. I was only in one bunker all day and it was in the fairway on the 8th hole, but the sand seemed ample.

Shame it took this long to get back to the Goose and I will try to not make that mistake again!
