Played this fun course yesterday morning. The overall condition is outstanding. The fairways of this course have no flat lie, all kinds of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Gotta have some experiences of handling these uneven lies to score well. Greens are also undulating and have to be on the right areas to avoid 3 or more putts. In addition, this course is fully exposed to the weather condition. If the wind picks up, it's gonna play much much harder. Find a good day and enjoy this course!!

Had a very enjoyable round on Sunday the 1st. First time here but look forward to coming back. I really enjoyed the variety of the holes. Each hole was a new challenge. There is one small glitch in the layout from 2 to 4 where they just put in some holes but the rest is quite an eyeful. It has some of the feel of Oak Quarry with elevated tees but then your hitting uphill up some steep rises. There are gullies to cross to add to the challenge. Scenic views just make the overall experience satisfying.

Played Sunday 8/1 at 3pm. Loved this course. Visually it's very stunning but it also offers an interesting challenge. Most of the holes are either uphill or downhill- seriously. It reminds me a lot of Oak Quarry. This is a course that makes you think- and plan. There's enough variety to enhance the challenges. The course is in fantastic condition in general. There are a few areas of fairway and rough with a crab-type grass but there's visible evidence that management is trying to eradicate this. For being punched just a few weeks ago the greens are soft, held well, were med fast, and rolled true. When we called to book they gave us the Golf Now price without booking through GN. They also said if we had told them we were GK'ers we'd have gotten a better deal! (found that out later! dang!) We played in 4 hours- maybe a bit less. The marshal came out to talk on the 9th to make sure the group ahead was playing at pace as he'd already spoken to them. (they were) Pleasant fellow serious about his job. Downsides? 1.The traps looked like clay not sand. Only played one and it was hardpack. 2. The regulars need a lesson in fixing ball marks. Most greens had plenty. (I fixed a LOT) 3. AND the clubhouse/bar staff need to learn to get a move on. They were molasses on a cold day- not good when you are stopping for liquid on the turn and trying to keep pace. I love nearby Goose but will definitely be playing Hidden Valley again - for the challenge and the beauty.

Took advantage of an email special and played on Sun, July 18th for $50 - well worth the rate. A target style track with lots of elevation changes, forced carries and plenty of desert-like areas to keep you from always blasting away with your driver. Greens were punched two weeks ago, so they were a little softer and slower than I expected but still rolled pretty nice. Most putts held their line pretty well. A few of the tee boxes were a bit uneven, but only a minor complaint. Fairways were in excellent shape, and rough could be penal at times. Only issue with the course were the sand traps. Very hard compacted sand - you definitely don't want to short-side yourself or you will have no chance for an sand save. Definitely will be coming back again. Nice track!

played hv july 1. what an incredible golfing experience. far and away the best course that ive played in a long time. beautiful mountain like setting with dramatic elevation changes on most holes. a must to play the appropriate tee box for your skill level or it will be a long day looking for lost balls. looking forward to playing again. at 40 bucks this is a much better value than the retreat, eagle glen, cross creek or redhawk.
the course from tee to green in great shape, and the greens absolutely immaculate. A MUST PLAY!!!

Jay Miller here again, played my own course for the first time in a week, to bad I am punching greens next week cause they are so pure it is unreal. My course is in the best condition it has been in 4 years since I came here. Talked with johnny yesterday and I am going to have greenskeeper month in August, this will be a discount to play either of my courses lower than any on line pricing or coupons [for greenskeeper members only] stayed tuned - end of July I will post the prices and then figure out how to make sure that the GK members only get this pricing. This is a "HIGHLY" recommended track. My tee time was 11:44 AM, I got there at about 11:00, on the course by 11:20. The over-all layout is very challenging, but scorable.(if you play the right tees, for your HCP) There is alot of elevation change throughout the course, from hole to hole, the views are spectacular. The fairways where tight and firm. The rough was cut at a very playable length. The quality of sand in the bunkers where good, I did see a couple of bunkers with excessive water??, didn't land there didn't care. The greens are firm and fast, and are in great condition.
I will definitly play here again.

This place keeps getting better and better! I don't think I've ever seen this place so lush. From fairways to rough, and tees to greens, the turf quality is exceptional. There has been marked improvement on the tee boxes and in the bunkers. Truly a pleasure to play this track. What a great product for the price!

This is a favorite of mine, always in pretty good condition. Layout is fantastic.
Yesterday though I did not have an enjoyable round. The customer service yesterday
was subpar bordering ridiculous. They have a real problem here at the turn and need
to address it. Yesterday it was close to causing a physical confrontation. Thank good-
ness cooler heads prevailed and it stopped after a few F-Bombs. Because of where
the clubhouse is compared to the ninth green it causes a bit of delay which is under-
standable, If a group decides not to use the phone on the ninth tee and goes to the
bar and drinks and waits for food, this is where the problem lies. We played the front
in 2 Hrs. Due to the group who had stopped for who knows how long(The two goups
ahead of us atleast had gone on). This caused a major delay and turned the back nine
into a 2hr. and 45 minute side. I actually went into the clubhouse to see if they were
letting people of the back. No they probably just stopped to eat or something the guy
said. Marshall was no help either, I was hot by that time one of the cutters had walked
back frome the green on 11 to that bunker thats 50 yds back and proceeded to hit my
golf ball I had just layed up with. Since know one at the golf course would listen
yesterday maybe the GM reads the reviews here. Yesterday rubbed me the wrong way
I play here four times a month, belong to the mens club, I have serious thoughts about not
returning. The problem was'nt the foursome who stopped long enough for multiple groups to go ahead of them the problem is how the course handled it when it was brought to there attention. The staff was rude, so much for customer satisfaction.
