it was a beautiful day on Friday the 13th for golf outing with great friends. the conditions of this track was perfect from start to finish. Tee Boxes were lush & leveled. fairways was mowed just like carpet and your tee shot will benefit from it. roughs were usual 1-3", thick and sticky. it will punish you so don't get in there. aprons were nicely kept as well. greens were smooth and rolled very well. it was medium to fast pace. the only inconsistency were the traps. maybe due to hot weather, wind and sprinklers made them some fluffy and some hard packed. overall, we enjoyed it alot and it was a great time. definitely coming back here soon

Played 6/17 with a couple other GKers. This was my second 18 of the day and I enjoyed it maybe even more than the first. I really like the layout of this course- a little on the links style side. Plenty of trouble to get into if you aren't keeping it in the short stuff but pretty fair risk/rewards throughout. The course is in great condition! Hasn't been this good for awhile! Fairways are beautiful but the rough is deep and thick. Forward tee boxes were a little bumpy. Sand was wet and hard packed- glad I wasn't in it too often! Greens were fantastic! Quick and true. Cart girl came by several times which was pretty amazing for a weekday afternoon! Had a great time and am hoping to play here again next week. I rated this higher, probably 8.1, but it seems stuck on the 7.6.

Only negative were the bunkers though they were a bit better than Champions. The greens are fast and true. The course is a strong 9 in my opinion and if you get the chance go play. I have played here many times and it's as good as it has ever been. Can't wait to get back out there.

Played here with Sixpez and itslikeimsayin on 6/8/14. Their reviews were spot on. Course was in very good shape minus the bunkers. Fairways were lush but a little long in some spots and a little soggy in spots. Though I didn't find many fairways. The rough where I spent most of my time was very penalizing. It was really hard to get the club head on the ball with it sitting down and how sticky it was. Greens rolled really well at medium speeds. I don't think any of us really blew any putts by the hole all day. Some tee's a little chewed up and a couple crowned but the majority were good. On Legends you never go back to the clubhouse until after all 18 holes but the cart girl did come around a few times. For the GroupGolfer deal for $39 unlimited play it really is an unbeatable deal.

Booked this round through a very popular online site for $65 on a Sunday morning at 7:20. My playing partner Gus, coming from Hemet, got a bit lost on his way there and nearly went to Oak Valley, lol! The starter, his name escapes me, did a great job coordinating the tee sheet upstairs and the reality on first tee. The starter worked us in and surprisingly to me sent us out as a two-some! Initially I was quite concerned because we were following a three some. We pressed the group ahead for about 5 holes or so, then some how their pace increased dramatically. We waited on several shots, but never for too long and it showed with a 4 hour 15 min round, approximately. The new carts equipped with the very gps systems probably aided in that. Stay away from restricted areas, and no you won't know exactly where they begin until your already in it.
The white tee boxes were decent, all fairly level. Between the markers there was the full Saturday traffic, while all throughout the rest of the tee areas, from red to black, it was noticeably lush. 7.5 of 10
The fairways were equally as lush, great lies all day, when I did manage to hit the fairway! Gus nor I had to hit out of a divot the entire round. When the fairways are good there isn't much to report on them, lol. 8.25 of 10
The rough (deep breath) was exactly that early on in the round. I'd have to guess about 4 inches deep wispy and wet. As the day warmed up and the water evaporated, the rough became significantly less penal. I would quickly realize that I needed to stay out of that stuff. 8.5 of 10, I guess
The bunkers were not the greatest, but that is due to the massive amount of watering this course gets. I was able to get my sand wedge under the ball, barely. None were hard pan, just thick, wet, and heavy. This didn't bother me much, it's a hazard, I put myself there and I just get out the best I can. 4.5
The greens were about as fast as they can get them here. Most greens are multi-tiered without an extreme amount of undulation, which I can appreciate. Knowing which direction the grain is running will impact your score by 1 or 2 strokes at some point in the round in a ball coming up just short of the cup or a ball just barely creeping in. Firm, cold and wet, the greens weren't as receptive at 8:00 as they were at 11:00. 7.75 of 10
Overall, I was very pleased with the condition of the course from tee to green. My value and price balance was achieved. The new carts with gps really do it for me! I will be back very soon, more than likely this coming weekend!

This was my first time playing either course out here and I really loved this layout, especially the front nine. I will definitely make a point of returning here again soon. Had a great time with sixpez and mnehls86!

mnehls86, Itslikeimsayin and I played here today using GroupGolfer vouchers—$39 for unlimited play after 10am on weekends. One of the best deals of all time. There was a big service snafu, which I'll expand on when I review the Champions course, but otherwise it was a great day on two excellent courses. We played with another single, teeing off right at 10:00. We ran into a dreadfully slow twosome several holes in. There was nobody in front of them yet we had to wait on almost every shot as a foursome, but we still finished the first round in under 4 hours.

The course was in excellent condition, with the exception of the bunkers. Both courses were. I was very impressed. Fairways had some soggy areas and a few shaggy spots, but the lies were always perfect. The rough was thick and definitely made you work to hit good shots. The greens were a tad firm, but rolling smooth and true at medium speeds. The bunkers, as mentioned, were a mixed bag. I found everything from hard-packed mud to soft mud to thin sand to decent sand. Overall, that's the only area that needs improvement.

This was only my second time playing here, with the first being many years ago when it was still the SCPGA Club. Obviously, lots of residential development since, but the course is a great layout in a nice setting. Even better than I remembered, and the deal we had was hard to beat.

Impressed by the conditions here for the first time. The overseeding was great and these were the best fairways I've played this year. The rough is amazing (you might lose your shoes it's so thick). Greens were also in good shape (except the 18th just needs to be re-done or something) but the course has a bit more Poa intruding into them. Grain still plays a big part in reading your putts so beware. Greenside bunkers were pretty good but the fairway bunkers were very thin with some playing as waste areas. Tee boxes were okay with the par 3s having a bit of divot damage and others being a bit un-level. All in all it's probably the happiest I've been after completing a round at either of the Morongo courses.

we played here a few times and the course did not disappoint. conditions were excellent from tee to green. tee boxes were level and fairways were great. word of advice, avoid the roughs. they are thick and will punish you. the traps looked good but luckily, i didn't get in any one of them. greens were fast, rolled true and smooth. the only thing i didn't like about it was the POP, it took us almost 5.5 hours to finish

Once again..."play it forward" or "while we're young" concepts should be the norm. teeing off from Black Tee does not prove that you can play the game well. you're just trying to hack and muscle everything off "course"...
