Checking my records, I had not played here since 2009, so was excited to return. Normally I play blue tees, (6702), but adding 11 more years on the clock, temperature at tee off at 6:38am was 38 degrees, decided to go for the white tees. (6300) Good decision, because it played very much like I remember it playing from the blues. Greens were decent, not great, but OK. However they were really firm. Zero chance to stop anything. Fairways were thin, but playable. Bunkers were some of the best I've seem since Covid. Rough was fair at best. Staff was perfect ! Friendly and accommodating. Not bust at all in the early AM, (I guess due to cold temps) so we took our time and finished in just under 3 hours.

Played an early morning Sunday round in FIVE hours. The pace of play here has AND will always be slow! The staff is adequate and the carts are starting to show their age. The tee boxes were all level but in shabby shape from start to finish. The rough is in fairly good condition on most holes where it exists. The fairways are very dry and starting to get very thin with sections of good coverage hard to find. The traps had enough sand in them but were damp to wet and difficult to escape from since no rakes are in them for the golfers. The greens were the best part of the course as usual. There were a few that were a little rough (bumpy) and a few that were nearly perfect. The speed varied from green to green and it appeared some really needed to be rolled. The pace of play is always SLOW here and can really be frustrating for those who like to keep up the pace. The rates are in line with what is offered in the area but the managements lack of management is evident every time I've played here in the last several years. Sad

Played Tuesday, May 5. Staff seemed confused on what was policy. All I can say is, I think Robert Trent Jones Jr. would be very disappointed seeing how his course has been let go. Haven’t played here since the SCGA called it their course. Very ragged conditions. The only bright spot were the greens. The rough hadn’t been cut in I don’t know how long so if you wandered from the fairway, it took sometimes several minutes to find your ball. Not very pleasing when you’ve driven over 80 miles. I won’t be back for some time.

I played today with Golfgoddess. Our tee time was 8:23 a.m. When we arrived there was quite a lot of activity outside the clubhouse. There were many players sitting in their carts (all single riders) waiting for the ok to head to the first tee. After checking in and paying (definitely not touch-free), we went to get our carts. The starter tried to put us in a shared cart, telling us that the rule is one cart and we have to take turns -meaning each hole we alternate one of us drives and the other walks the hole. Say what??? After we gave a big "No" to that, he gave us separate carts with a side of attitude. We were paired with Vincent and Rory and off we went. The conditions were not too bad. The fairways were mostly green with few thin spots. A couple of them on the back nine were in need of mowing but maintenance crew workers were out there doing just that. The bunkers on the front had nice sand. On the back there were several that were dirt with lots of weeds. Again, there were guys working on them so no complaints. The greens were beautiful. They were a little slow at the start and got pretty quick later in the round. They were soft enough to hold shots well but there were no ball marks anywhere! I was very surprised. There was foam in the cups. As mentioned in the other recent reviews, the rough was insane. There were many different grasses growing together. It was long, deep, and clumpy. We all lost balls in it that otherwise would have been really good shots. I’m sure it will all get cut down soon. I last played here about 4 or 5 years ago. I don’t know why it took so long to return. I’ve always enjoyed the layout. There is a good variety of holes with water and doglegs. I really like the #2 and #6 par 3’s with their elevation changes and false fronts. They are so much fun. I get such a feeling of determination at those tee boxes! POP was 4:45. We never waited and the group behind was not on our tails. We just took our time and had a wonderful, relaxed, fun time. Recommended.

The greens are mowed but seemed to not be rolled very well but putted OK and were lush. The fairways were very nice. Now the part that led to a roughly 6 hour round... The rough is us open ish. If you ball rolls into it its gone unless you step on it. It appears that they just started moving and as you know from cutting grass, you cannot cut off 6 inches at a time. Range IS open which is nice... It was simply nice to be out.

Got out and played on 3/28. Took all the precautions necessary, we each drove separately, 3 of us walked/1 rode a cart, I paid up front and everyone venmo'd me their fees, we brought our own food and kept our distances at all times. Despite those measures, we had a blast yesterday, probably more so because at least for me, I've been working from home and not going out at all.

The golf course was in really good condition, it's been about 12 years since I've last played here and I forgot what a great layout/challenge this course is.

Greens were rolling so smooth and if you found yourself on the wrong side of the hole, it was a challenge. Overall, greens were great!

The rough was hit and miss, you could find yourself in rough 4"+ high or nice and thin.

Fairways were in good shape, not much divot damage to speak of. Maybe a tad thin but not bad at all.

All in all, an absolutely fabulous day with my buddies. The way we figured, from 6am until 4pm, I came into contact with a total of 5 people. This morning, the wife had me go to Costco to get some things for our parents and I probably came into contact with 40-50 people.

Early morning round in a little over four hours. I was only here on an invite from a playing partner. First off was charged more than the stated online rate which they like to do. Second off the cart we were assigned was missing a windshield (it was 42 degrees) and when we requested another the starter gave us a few lines (glad they won't be there after today). The tee boxes were all slightly damp, shaggy but level with good coverage. The rough was thick, damp and long. If you could find your ball it was difficult to advance it very far. The fairways had pretty good coverage with clumps of growth on many requiring you to move your ball to have a fair shot. The bunkers were in very good condition with enough dirt/sand and only a little damp. The greens were in good shape with few marks and rolled only slightly slower than usual. Once again the ownership here fails to make you feel welcome and acts unprofessional - I don't know why I'd expect a change. The course did not take any precautions in regards to the virus with no guidance for what was expected from the golfers. Even though I live a mile from this course I cannot recommend it because of how they manage (OR NOT) the place!!

Played 2/18 with a 10:00am start time, finished in less than 4 hours and that was with a wait on the last 2 holes. Check in was OK and the starter was very good and paired us up with a local who knew the course.

The greens were the star of the show, reasonably fast and true, didn’t see any ball marks. Whoever chose the pin positions must have been having a bad day, everyone was challenging. The rest of the course was what you would expect, fairways and rough coming out of dormancy, traps a bit thin apart from two on a later hole that had white fluffy stuff!

All in all an enjoyable round.

Early morning round on a very cold Saturday in about four hours. The carts are adequate and the starter is about the only friendly face here. The tees were all fairly level but some were thin and others a little shaggy and dry. The fairways have been let go for the most part on many of the holes with mixed grasses and thin dry places throughout the course. The rough is also very dry and filled with weeds. The traps are all well groomed but many have tons of rocks and pebbles in them. The greens are the best part of this place nowadays and were rolling extremely fast early in the round and faster by the end. The course has really gone down lately and is sad to see. Hard to recommend. Play at your own risk!
