Decent layout here. Played 5/17 for $49....NOT WORTH IT!! The fairways were in terrible shape with bare spots everywhere grass was splotchy. if you get a better deal and you just want to practice...then maybe, but you can find better tracks in the Temecula than this.

Decided to take advantage of the aeration price special here. Aerated greens aren't ideal, but it's always nice when a course offers a significant deal during the recovery period. $25 for a Saturday morning round is hard to pass up no matter what. I had a 7:00 tee time and ended up going off first by myself, so finished quickly. Staff very friendly and nice, gave me the option to go by myself or wait for a threesome that had the same time. I'm ultimately glad I went alone because that same threesome was only on the 7th hole by the time I was leaving! The course was in decent overall shape. The greens were fine for being aerated a week ago. The only problematic ones were on the back nine when I got caught behind the guy doing the greens and his tractor was leaving little trails of tiny wet sand clumps across the green. The ones on the front nine were more cleaned up, though, and the price I paid more than made up for any aerations nuisances. The tee boxes were excellent. Fairways and rough seem to have multiple types of grasses growing in patches, so it looks a little splotchy visually, but plays mostly good. Fairways are cut tight, so I always had good lies. Rough mostly lush, though the ball always seemed to gravitate toward an awkward spot right between two different patches of grass! I was in a few bunkers and they were all good to play from. I think this is an underrated course overall and it's clear the new management has made some good strides. The only other time I played here was back when it was still Temeku Hills and this experience was better than that one. This course will never quite measure up to its tough competition in Temecula, but it's still a pretty fun Ted Robinson course that's usually reasonably priced.

Played Thursday 3/27, 10 AM start time, on less than a week old punched greens. Had a great time on professionally done, punched greens. What do I mean by professionally done? Punched holes were filled and almost all excess sand was absent. Result: greens were quicker and straighter than expected. Add to this, the $25 fee, and country club pace of 3 1/2 hours, with no one in front or behind, and you have an excellent golf experience.
The green on the 8th hole, seems to be improving from fungus, but still in poor shape.
Other than that, I recommend the course even during aeration.

Greens: Quick and firm, very good greens with the exception of the 8th hole, has a fungus problem, avoid the front of the green for best opportunity at a smooth putt. One of the worst greens I have ever played on.
Lay out: I like the lay out here, plenty of well placed water features to keep it interesting.
Fairways: Very good winter conditions.

Played for the first time this weekend. The feel right from the entrance was good with nice wall murals of old school golf and a wall mural of the legends of the game in the restaurant. Nice theme. Excellent customer service throughout, especially the Sunday morning starter, David?, who was exceptionally welcoming and came around on hole 5 to see how we liked our first visit and asked if pace of play was to our approval. Super awesome guy. Greens near flawless, minus one hole that had some strange issues, can't really describe. Perfect roll, fast as heck and soft, but almost no divots at all. The are tiered and difficult. But a fun challenging difficult, not a punishing one. Greens probably only second to Sandpiper. Tees okay, mostly level. Fairway semi-dormant, some bare areas, some patchy, but playable and never really a bad lie. Sand very good, full and consistent. Rough maybe a bit over an inch, well playable, actually real nice to hit off. Pace of play no problem at all. Carts have ice chest, no GPS. Did not see a cart girl. I was very happy with the cost, staff and course. I will definitely be back.

Granted these are winter conditions........

Customer service is impeccable, everyone friendly and super nice. Starter let us out a few minutes earlier and we were paired with a super nice couple. Pace of play was great, finished in under 4.5 hours. Tee boxes were level and sometimes lush sometimes thin, depending on the hole. Fairways were thin and bare and provided tight lies, but again, winter conditions. The rough was the best to play out from! The contrast of the colors on the course made it look beautiful. Some sand traps were great, the few that I were in, not so great. Greens were running fast and there was 1 hole on the back 9 that was full of dead/bare spots, other than that 1 hole, greens were great and not a lot of ball marks. Don't think there was a cart girl as we never saw one. Water was provided on several holes. Definitely a place to play in the late spring/summertime to see the course at its best (when the fairways are fully grown in).

First time at this course since they changed their name and management. Pretty rough shape right now, winter dormant conditions, but the greens were nice. Super fast greens and putted fairly true, just couldn't read them very well and the greens are super sloped with multiple tiers and different little levels on them, very tricky. I had a four-putt for double which sucked! Tough par 3's, all were long and hilly and wind played a big part. I like the layout of this track, makes you think and be creative. Don't be long on approach shots, palm trees can be in your way if you fly these greens. Good customer service, everyone was real nice in the pro shop and cart staging area. Didn't see a marshal, but played fairly quick after the first few holes. POP about 4.5 hours, which isn't bad for Saturday at 11am teetime. Teeboxes were ok, fairways were dormant and often wet, but usually had pretty good lies, not much rough, didn't find a sand trap, but they looked nice. I would like to go back in the spring when the grass comes back in. Maybe wait til then unless you find a good deal on the green fee.

Played here on New Years day, first time ever seeing this course. First off let me say it was a very fun course. Love the layout. Greens were in perfect shape, Putts roll fast and firm.. only the 8th green could use a little work near the water. Fairways were a little on the dry side, but length of cut was perfect so that didn't bother me one bit. Rough was fine, if you don't like it, don't hit it out there. Traps around the green where nice, looks like newer sand. Staff was excellent, cant wait to go back.
