Rode the Blues (6544/71.4/128) with Roarksown1 for our GK Cup match. Joined by Al and Nader, nice group to play with. POP 4 H, 45M in hazy, breezy conditions around 65. ' This would be a fairly challenging course to walk, several holes are very hilly. Par 70, six par 3's, four par 5's and eight par 4's. Starts out tight for a few holes, then opens up for a few holes, then it's hilly target golf. Almost like 3 different mini courses within a course. Tees were mediocre. The back 9 were more like light rough, looked like they had not been mowed in a week? Front nine much better maintained for whatever reason. Fairways were winter thin and played firm with good coverage. There was barely a demarcation between the fairways and the rough. Rough mowed down, not very penal. Sand traps I was in were very mediocre. Okay sand, but too many rocks and not well raked. Greens were firm and quick. I like quick greens but had problems for the first 16 holes getting the line and speed on these. Finally made putts on 17/18. Customer service was excellent from all. No GPS on the basic carts, no driving range, just a warm up cage that was not in good condition. Quick, efficient check in, drink cart around probably 5-6 times. Plenty of water stations on the course. Okay course, fun to play. Last played here about 5 years ago and it may be another 5 before I return since it is a long, inconvenient drive for me. Unique layout in many regards. Takeaway is that there are many more good holes than bad, but a couple of funky holes make me mark down the overall design. Still recommended.

2/5 another Bday round $15 cart fee and a very friendly welcome. 6 hr round but only 420 on the course as there was a frost delay and there fore a line up to start. Turned into a nice enough day by 11. Was joined by David from Crestline an enjoyable addition to our 2some.
Fairways in winter shape some brown areas and a few patches of green. Grass seems healthy judging by the root structure that is easily seen in the unfilled divots. All and all descent lies. Not much rough except on some slopes around the greens. Could use more in some areas to keep the ball from getting into more serious trouble like the lake on 6.
Tees were ok. Bunkers were varied some with enough sand and some thin.
Greens had what appeared to be mixed grasses as the colors were rather camo. Rolled medium/medium fast and were mostly smooth with some slight bumpiness on a few greens. Greens are large with tiers and undulations and keeping with the overall theme of slopes coming into play as a shot would seem to be relatively ok would roll off and leave a much longer putt over the bump or from the fairway 20-30 extra yards or from a bunker or worse.
Good variety of holes and significant elevation changes on a few.

Early morning tee time (6:25am) on a rather brisk winter morn. Ruth from the pro shop is a real joy to deal with. She was efficient, friendly, pleasant, and is the type of person who makes check in a real positive.

While we actually had the first tee time, we were advised we to follow a group of "regulars" Since we were not in a hurry, no argument was made, and the "regulars" played quickly and never held us up.

Course is in decent winter condition. Fairways were very "tight" which presents a challenge to hit crisp shots. Greens rolled well, held shots, but were not quite as fast as I remember them being. Bunkers had plenty of sand, most of which was well maintained. Tee boxes and rough were both playable, but certainly not pristine.

Always enjoy playing this course, as it offers enough of a challenge, but affords many "easy" holes. Holes #5, #13 & #14 are all the golf hole you can handle, otherwise this course plays fairly easy. Still, if you're not careful on those other holes, they have enough challenge to bite you and put some quick boogies on the card.

I find the greens fees very reasonable, and their "birthday" policy is also quite generous. Recommend this course for a fun round of golf without bankrupting you or destroying your handicap

Played here 12/23/19 in pouring down rain with a 6:30 am tee time. My friend and I were the only ones on the course we saw until we got to hole 18 and saw a group teeing off on #2. Pace of Play was 3 hr 35 min. Conditions are hard to rate due to the amount of rain. We were on cart path only the entire course. Greens looked amazing and Fairways were short so your ball would run after the carry. Sand traps were decent with some growth in some, tee boxes were probably the worst part of the course. Choppy and non level on some where others were smooth and had coverage. Water was stinky on #13 and they need to clean it. Overall we love this course and it's not too challenging but just enough to keep you coming back. 8/10 overall. Would be a 9 if they could improve their tee boxes.

Played Fri dec 20th, at 750. Check in very fast and friendly, people in club house very nice, both check in and meals. Haven't been here for 5 months, course was dead winter mode, rock hard tee boxes where we broke 3 of the plastic none breakable tees puting them IN the ground. Fairways were also rock hard and dormant, ball ran forever. No bunkers so no comment. Greens were a little bumpy. POP was 350 which wasn't bad. P S don't disregard the deli sandwich for lunch, not bad.

Got out on Sunday as the first group out. Pace was good in the fact that we didnt have to wait so as a walker and 1 rider we finished in about 3 hours. The mens club started a shotgun on 15th and we did not catch up to them.
The course is still getting through its greens aerification, so it is still a little bumpy and slow. The sanded holes are now gone. Should be ready in a little over a week hopefully.
The tee boxes were a mixed bag for the blue tees. Theres some holes that are nice and level, some that have a lot of divot damage and sparse grass, other than that i recommend using a tee for all tee shots to help improve your lie.
Fairways were good for the most part, there are parts that are overwatered so you get some mud lies, but its expected in the morning as this course can get dried out quickly for later times.
As a member of this course, I enjoy playing here because everyone in the pro shop is great and welcoming, I can also see how the course can get backed up for later times because they do get a lot of play.

Haven't play Dos Lagos for awhile. It was a beautiful day. Fairways were pretty good. Some tee boxes were pretty uneven but some were good. The sand traps really need work. The greens were soft and kind of bumpy but in decent condition. People, fix the divots that you make and a few more when you can. POP was at 4.5 hours. Not bad for a Sunday morning. I liked the course even though some or the holes are a bit quirky. All in all, not a bad day on the course.

Had a great time playing today. The course in good condition from the fairways to the green. Some areas were being overwatered to help keep the course green due to the heat, so some areas had standing water. Sandtraps did have sand but were compacted due to the extra water. POP was close to 4.5 hours due to two groups playing as an eightsome. Luckily staff was able to get them separated and moving. Staff is always great.

Back out to Dos Lagos as this is one of the best bargains for seniors. $32 including cart for such a fun golf course in good condition is one of the reasons I frequent this course more than others, despite the fact I have to fight traffic home on the 91 freeway.

Just a bunch of birdie holes and a few tough ones ( #6, #13 & #14) Greens rolled well, receptive and reasonably quick. Fairways very nice, although a few bare spots at times. Fairway bunkers could use some trimming around the edges, but, hey their hazards aren't they?

Staff is always great here. Very friendly and accommodating. I could say I wish I lived closer, but instead, I'll say I wish the course was closer to me. (Of course if it were in the OC, it would be $100)
