Nice public course. Greens are usually in good shape. Fairways are usually OK. Rough is spotty with bare patches (where my ball usually ends up). The layout is excellent. There are no 2 holes on Chino Creek that are similar. NOTE: scorecards aren't accurate on yardage as they have added tee boxes; especially on the par 3's. Walk off the yardage from the hole sign when in doubt.

While the courses are nothing special, they are in generally good condition, the greens being the most critical, and very reasonable. Just good pure simple golf!

Played here Thursday 4/5 . I forgot how nice the course was. Was in 2 traps and both were AOK. Partner was in one that was like cement. Hope they were getting ready to fill it with sand. They're rebuilding a few holes tee box area and making them longer and adding a few new turn arounds. Just wish they had friendlier desk personnel. No complaints they just had no personalities. Just dead pans. I will be back.

Played 4/06 in the morning. Sand traps were so hard that the ball would roll right out of the trap. Some of the tee boxes were uneven but some of the fairways were lush.

HUH??? last week played the Butterfield,had a good time.Today had early tee time,3 some, followed a 4 some for 14 holes with 2 empty holes in front of them. Yelled at them on 17, they flipped us off and finished at a snails pace, went to their cars and were gone. Funny, we are seniors, we have no ego about this,if we are slow we let them thru, anyway, the Chino Creek 18 is supposed to be the better side, but,, we found it to be a bit dumpy. Cart paths that have turned into 20 yard wide muddy paths , just crazy. Some of the mud paths almost touch the greens. Greens are good, fairways are OK, bunkers are so so. Staff is fun and helpful, not their fault ,, funny, with all the prisons around one would think they could get inexpensive labor to do the paths, with good paths the carts would be better, if the rough was smoothed out a little bit the whole place would be better. But it aint my place, we will retun to Butterfield once in awhile,,, but we wont go to Chino Creek side until someone says its safe. Too bad, short love affair.

I played here for the first time on March 3rd and was not impressed at all. Some cart path areas around the greens were not paved and some areas of the rough around the greens were just plain dirt. The fairways are really close to each other and you might want to protect your head. On top of that, there was so much wind it was hard to stand still on the tee box. Plus the cow dung smell. Maybe if the wind didn't blow so much I might have had ok time there but I don't plan to go back there again.

I had not played Chino Creek in maybe two years. I wasn't expecting much. I gotta say, it's in pretty decent shape. They obviously overseeded fairways this year. They were very green and playable. The greens were bumpy and slow, but in good condition. Not much rough to speak of. It's an interesting course with some elevation changes and some holes were you have to think (#17, downhill short par 5 with a creek running through it 250 yards from the tee; we laid up). For $27 to walk, it's a nice bargain and a decent day of golf. Nothing fancy, but not horrible either. The stats listed for the scorecard on this site are wrong. BLUE TEES are 6763 yards, 72.0 rating and 124 slope. WHITE TEES are 6296 yards, 69.9 rating and 120 slope.

I was not impressed at all. The greens are the only thing this place has going for it. No marshall or beverage cart. Pace of play was not good, we were a 3 behind a 5, which was slowed by a 2, yes a 2. There was a 90 degree rule imposed from cart paths that are not there. There is no difference between the rough and the fairway, neither is in good shape. Traps were filled with water, that must have been from sprinklers, because we didn't have enough rain to have that much water. I went into this round with a very open mind, but I will not be back.

Played 12/5/06 Red Book ($22 per player w/RB and Old Fogey's rate), 7:30 Tee Time, held up till 9 AM due to frost on the course, shotgun start for those there, finished in 4.5 hrs.
