Played here 7/16 for a 10:35 match with SR714. Very warm day, and a slight breeze. The place was busy, or it felt that way. There are 3 practice greens and the very busy range has mats. We were saddled up to our carts and sent to see the starter, who informed us that he's not sure if he will send us to the north course, instead of our reserved south course. Either way, we had to be on standby for 20 minutes at the starter's booth, before being let on to our reserved course. POP was slow, the entire round, 5.5 hours.
The white tees were level, but are drying out and becoming patchy. They were pretty chewed on par 3's.
The fairways are kikuyu and have fair average coverage. Mostly mowed down tight and playable, but still plenty of areas where it's patchy and dryer coverage. I quickly resorted to sweeping for dryer kikuyu conditions.
The rough was very patchy, differing depths(rarely deep) and turf health, so you never did know what lie you might find...best to avoid it.
Traps were denser, and still with a damp crust. I had no issues making a denser textbook sand shot. However, the density & lie could make you consider picking it clean instead.
Areas around green are lush and tighter kikuyu...challenging. I carry low bounce instruments for this very situation.
Greens were nice and hold shots with very little ball marks to repair. They were rolling medium speed with predictable break. A few had had repairs performed, but that was near fringes.

The winds came up from the west and were a factor. Waiting on every tee box, and for greens to clear made for a long round and match. No drink cart, but there is a fully stocked snack bar at #7 tee. With six par 5's at par 74, this course can be a challenge. Your driver will get plenty of use here.

Played this course twice last week. It's in noticeably good shape, especially the greens. They appear to be almost completely healed from aeration, such that they are smooth and free of hole punch marks, but still have a little sand on them. The rest of the course is lush and pleasant to play from, EXCEPT for the bunkers, which are inconsistent. Some are soft and fluffy, some are hard and crusty. Overall, though, I am very pleased with the current shape of this course.

After playing here on a regular basis it is clear that between the continual fee increases and the greens not recovered from punching 2 weeks ago it appears that the fact that there are so many more golfers the courses will make as much money as they can regardless if the course is in good shape. I agree, with 3 tee boxes under repair and not even playable there should absolutely be a discounted fee. The old days of the Kramers running this course are long gone. Disappointed.

Played Friday April 1st at 722, we play here every other Friday. We knew the greens were punched but decided to play anyway, why not every where the greens are punched lol. What we didn't know and wasn't told was 3 of the 4 par 3's they were redoing the tee boxes, they were laying the rolls of sod as we played. They had temporary tee boxes, one of them was a mat put on a spot in front of the tee, it was crooked and uneven, the other 2 were just placed in the rough, one on an uphill lie and one on a very uneven down hill lie, yes you hit an iron out of the rough, down hill lie for a par three.
We like playing south but 3 things should have happened
1) they should have made the temp tee boxes much more playable.
2) they should have told us about the temp tee boxes at check in
3) they should have reduced the price more than $2 for 3 bad holes.
The rest of the course was ok, tee boxes level, fairways ok, bunkers not good, hard and mud. Rough in some places was 6" long, looks like they are putting all their work on tee boxes instead of grass cutting.
I am not a golf maintenance person, but since they were putting down the sod on April 1st I bet it takes 10 to 14 days before the tee boxes are ready. Just consider this there.

First time playing here in 20 years. Fairways are not in good shape. You can tell this place gets a gets a ton of traffic. Green were okay though. Pace was surprisingly not too bad. Really like the layout. Very challenging but not to the point where you longingly stare in the direction of the parking lot and imagine sitting in your chair at home watching the football game. Hopefully they get the fairways back in shape. Too good of a track to be so mediocre condition wise.

Out yesterday morning to Los Serranos South. The greens have healed nice from the aeration a few weeks ago. A little bumpy, but very puttable running at 8. The course was over watered and soggy and the fairways had decent drought coverage. The rough was a mix bag and there is plenty of dirt patches where your ball can roll into. Many par 5's on this course, so if u like those, feast away. Layout is a great mix of holes plus elevation changes. Snack shop was open and starter was super pleasant. We dined in the restaurant and the menu was limited, but glad to see people eating to support the golf course. Course was very busy as usual, and POP was 5 hours as tees times are back to 8 minutes apart.

Played Friday Oct 1st at 7:06 it has been a month since I have been here, they have punched the south and they are large holes fairly close, had enough sand to get on your ball and stay there. The practice green is also punched so get a feel before you go out, you have to hit it harder and just aim for the hole, I actually made a few 12 footers and had the speed down to other were within 12" and had 30 legit punts, not get on the green and automatic 2 putts. When you hit the green you saw a puff of sand. They are again assigning golf carts and when you can load up, not sure why, POP was 416, we felt slow as we waited every hole on a 3 some, we were 4 some, they have reduced price to compensate for the punched greens. Gold tee boxes were fine, fairways good with a few brown spots, get off the fairway and you find allot more bare/dirt spots, was not in bunkers Will be back in 2 weeks and play the north.

Played Friday Sept 3rd at 634 and Tues Sept 7th at 642 for a couple of free birthday rounds. Got out on time Friday and 20min late on Tues. Friday the driving range was open early and was nice to hit 10 balls or so, Tues the driving range opens later. They must be trying to save money as they give you 2 score cards at the starter shack now, they are not out there for you to take. The course is not really in that good of shape, they appeared to be over watering and the are allot of mushy places in the fairways along with allot of brown places,we played gold tees and they were ok, the rough is getting longer by the trees and searching for your ball takes time. The bunkers are HORRIBLE, nothing but wet mud and in some standing wet mud that one of the guys was just slipping just walking around. There were rakes at all bunkers but you didn't need them, they were the worst I have seen here. Greens held shots and had large ball marks to repair. A few of the greens were in bad shape also around the edges. POP was just over 4 hours both days. We have 1 more birthday round this Tuesday sept 14th. I don't expect a big improvement. But it is free, LOL

Played Friday July 23rd at 6am. Course was a little busier than I thought it would be at that time. Have not played here for 2 1/2 months. Check in very fast, just grap a cart now, not being called up, driving range and putting greens all open. They were over watering the course because of the heat so the first few holes the fairways and greens were a little wet, there is no cart path only on the south now. Fairways were good to hit from, rough in the trees were a little long and you had to hunt for your ball, I found 6 shag balls looking for my buddies ball LOL, traps were not good, very hard sand/mud and even water because of the over watering, first 2 greens were slower but when the sun came out they were a nice speed, looks like they are repairing some tee boxes, specifically #9, it is all done and very level and nice. POP was 4:17, not great but ok, we will be back in 2 weeks.
