Out to Los Serranos - South course with some buddies at 10:58 am. It has been over 10 years since I played the South Course. 1/3 of the parking lot was yellow roped off was the bad news trying to find a parking space. The good news is that a delivery of new fleet of golf carts was coming with the Shark Experience in them. (Hence 1/3 of parking lot yellow roped off). Apparently, their carts have been dying quite a bit. It was a welcoming sight to know that our carts were the new ones.

Check in was super crowded between two courses, a Titleist fitting day, and a packed range. You pay, you wait and when it's your turn to get in your cart, you go! Check in, sign for cart and off you go.

The course is tough test even from the white tees. A great mix of elevation changes and variety of holes. The rough was very spotty mix of dirt and weeds. They just gave up on watering the rough. The fairways were fair shape. The greens were the best part of the course, running at 9/9.5. The sand traps traps were fair and rake less. The 2nd best part of the day was POP at 4 hr 10 minutes! I would not have imagined that after seeing the clubhouse staging area packed with golfers.

The snack shop was open. The routing of this course is confusing. They need more signs. Many times, we just guessed and we were wrong!

I enjoyed our day out....what made it special was my brother Tony made an ALBATROSS on hole 16. The hole was par 5 (481 yard). He hit driver and 5 iron. The 5 iron flew into the hole...no divot...no rolling up...no bounces....AMAZING!!!!! Chances of ALBATROSS is 1 in 16 million chances...vs Hole in 1...which is 1 in 12,000 chances.

Played Tues dec 15th at 714, was 38 degrees this morning, man i have to get my guys to play a later tee time, LOL, then once it warmed up the wind started. Not much to add from last review, they have now added many stakes and rope in the fairways for GUR and limiting the the cart where it can go,, the greens have gained a little speed on down hill putts and were soft enough to have to repair ball marks. We also had a cart start to die going up the hill between 16 and 17, 1 guy had to walk for it to get up the hill, traps are still very bad. We own the weekday card and will be back next week, oh BTW the weekday card has got up in price fron 199 to 215.

Played LS South yesterday at 906. That quickly became about 930. POP was just a touch over 5 hour, as we followed what I presume was the men's club. I was informed its 10$ for a single rider cart which is fine except they told me after I paid and I had to go back in and pay 10$ right as we we're supposed to tee off. To further complicate the matter, in a group of 3 carts we had 4 carts die. Thats right they had to bring new carts out 4 times! Never experienced that before. To top it all off, another cart died just as we were getting back. They offered no excuse or recourse just an "Oh ya that's been happening". Course conditions are ok right now. Tees were relatively flat with moderate divot damage 6/10. Tees and rough were spotty at best but where there was coverage it was pretty good 6/10. Bunkers were rock hard but not some of the worst I have seen since COVID 4/10. Greens were the high-low light, running medium speed with a little bumpiness and were too soft for my taste 6/10. I am normally a fan of this place but based on the way things are being run right now, the wonky conditions, and the fact that its basically the same price as Goose with the single rider cart and I can't really recommend the place right now.

Played Tues dec 8th at 714, check in fast, course was NOT busy at all which was unusual. Got out on time playing the golds as usual. No one in front or behind us first 4 holes, then we caught a 4 some playing the blues. Waited a little after that but POP was still good at 342. Nothing much has changed in 2 weeks, still allot on maintenance and GUR spots in fairways, greens rolled better. I think the GUR spots will be there for a while. We play here allot as we have the weekday card and it is easier to get a tee time. We will be back next Tuesday and the 22nd, LOL

Played Tues Nov 24th at 722, check in fast and friendly. They are now lining up the carts again but still don't want you loading your bag until told to do so. This makes it a little crowded with carts and golfers outside the club house. Got out on time, played the golds as usual. The course has allot of maintenance going on, tee boxes were ok, level, fairways mostly green with a few winter bare spots, many many roped off areas were ground under repair, reseeding is going on, was in on fairway bumker and sand was wet , hopefully they will work on the bunkers also. Greens were still not quite recovered, were slow and a little bumpy. POP was the usual 406, would have been much faster but there were 4 20 something guys in front of us playing the blues, and of course they were the wrong tees, LOL we had my son in law with us and he played the golds with us and shot 104, AND had a 295 yard drive on 18, he was past the cart path and still took a nine. As said before, "driving distance" does not establish which tees you should play, skill does. We like it here , will be back.

A beautiful day to play golf. Great POP of about 4 hours. Carts were all lined up, just had to check in with cart personnel right before tee time. Cart did start to go out by 15th hole, but made it through round.

Parts of fairways and rough are GUR and roped off, appears to have been over seeded. Greens were being top dressed with a light layering of sand. Greens were hard to read as some were fast and some were slow do to the sand. Some bunkers had mud and some were wet and compacted.

Still a good day of golf.

Played Tues Nov 10th at 722, check in fast, was told to load the cart and took off and it was bucking, like it didn't have a good charge, turned around and asked for another and no problem. I usually put my phone in my bag but I had to call the chiropractor and get an appointment in the afternoon so I put it in the cart and forgot it, got to the starter shack and here comes the cart guy with my phone. Really good service, after the round i hunted him down, gave him a tip , got his name and went in and told the manager Camron did an excellent job. We played the golds as usual and there is still allot of clean up going on, one hole had tape around part of the green parking and next tee box because of a down tree. For the most part things were in good winter shape. One bunker good sand but 2 others not good, greens were nice, POP was usual at 402.

It will get better. Got out on time. Course is still cleaning up from the wind storm, still some down trees and chain saws going on and it was not the 15th club in our bag ( chain saw) lol They reseaded some tee boxes and most notable was all the par 3 tees were grouped together in front of the gold tees, and those tee boxes were terrible. the greens were receptive and always had a ball mark to repair. They rolled nice, pop was ok at 359, but we waited every hole on a 2 some, we were a 4 some.

I played here today, Oct 27, the day after major winds blowing through, and 2 huge fires near, in Southern California. I feel really bad for this golf course, every hole had trees either up rooted or large branches snapping off. I can not give a fair evaluation, just wanted to post to inform everybody of the devestation and damage to many trees along every hole of the course. It will take them a few days to clear most of the limbs and trunks. I would advise not to expect a clear track until Friday.
