Played Tues Sept 15th at 730, check in fast, got out a few minutes early. Course was not very busy. Tried to make a tee time for next Tuesday and nothing before 945 as ths south will be closed for punching. The north was punched 2 weeks ago. We have the club card for weekday and they raised the rates by $1. The course looked like it was getting ready to be closed for maintenance, tee boxes ok, but fairways and rough was very wet and soggy with standing mud, different length grass and bare spots. Greens rolled ok, there was a lot of grass clippings on the fringes, you had to do your own maintenance if you wanted to putt or pitched run. Our cart had a blinking battery light on hole 15 and they delivered another cart very quickly. Looks like they are monitoring the carts as you have to wait to load up until close to your tee time, think they are pushing for double riders, no problem for us. There were 3 holes that the pool noodle was missing in the cup, again no problem for us but maybe some of you. People were eating outside. Looks like we will be away from here for a few weeks letting the greens heal.

Wish I could've joined the Gker crew in the desert. I had a buddy who wanted to play for his bday yesterday and we were on time constraints.

Wish I could've joined the Gker crew in the desert. I had a buddy who wanted to play for his bday yesterday and we were on time constraints.

Course was very busy. Paid the rack rate $75, which seems a bit over priced for Serranos, but it's one of my favorite courses in SoCal, so it was worth it. POP was deplorable. 3hrs front nine and then it picked up on the back and was 2.25hrs. Total 5.25hrs, waiting most every shot and long waits on the par3's.

Course is in pretty good shape. Teeboxes were all pretty good. Couple of them were not level, but didn't pose too much of an issue. Fairways in the landing areas were all very good. They've done some "turf reduction" it seems and are letting some of the grass go dead in many areas that you shouldn't be in, anyway. I had good lies all day.

I didn't hit any bunkers, but they seemed playable. Never heard a complaint from the other members in our group. But they did place it a couple of times.

Greens were all very receptive of shots. Nice and soft. They putted well for the most part, but it really seemed like the grounds crew yanked on the hole a little too hard when they were making the cups. They all seemed to have a "crown" around them and the ball would break away from the cup at slow speed during the last 3-4 inches of the putt. Very frustrating, nobody made hardly any putts!!

Covid measures: masks in and around the clubhouse, pool noodles in the cups, no beverage cart and cash only at the snack bar.

Customer service was just fine and I just love this course, great layout and a good test from the blues (they didn't have the black tees out, I wouldn't have played them anyway, but wanted to make note).

Range and putting green were open. The chipping area is such an after thought that you could chip golf balls off your floor mats in the parking lot and get a better work out .

Tee Boxes, Tee boxes were good and in good condition.

Fairways, fairways were also in good condition. Although I missed enough of them there could
have been a sink hole on some and I would have never known. ( f&*King driver!)

Rough, rough is doable, if you play a lot of the county courses the rough is similar and the kikuyu was like Griffith so it was like being at home.

Bunkers, they have them there? I kid I kid, I stayed out of them but my buddies were in there and the sand was dry and prewet summer traps with no rake love.

Greens, hmmmm. They were good and bad. A couple of holes like #4 needed to be blown off. there were lots of leaves, sticks, pollen and all other tree barf on it. The greens were watered and wet but the foot traffic around the cups made the ball hop a lot or changes the speed that some putts were missed that are usually made. The greens were true but a little slow. They did look pretty good considering the traffic.

Los Serranos is generally one of the best value courses. Last year for 35/40 we played there a lot. Today it was 57 to ride which kinda sucks. I miss the pre Covid round pricing. Snack Shack was open and it was warm so it was nice to have that available. POP was 4 1/2 today.

Played Tuesday Sept 1st, used my free birthday round but since it was 6 days before my birthday had to pay the $15 cart fee. We played the golds again as we really like the course from these tees for us, course was in good shape, very wet as they were soaking it getting ready for this heat spell, POP was 4:15, 2 four sones in front of us definitely were a bit slow as the course was open in from of them. Greens very soft and repaired not only ours but many ball marks, why not, couldn't go any where because of the pace, LOL putting green open with 4 holes, driving range always closed for maintenance early tues morning, restaurant still not open until 8am???????

Played with my monthly club EARLY, 6:26am on Saturday, 8/8/20, on a clear day that warmed up quickly. The course was pretty wet to start with but dried out on the back nine. COVID protections in place with masks near clubhouse, outside food service only, limited people in the shop at one time, and the starter gives you a cleaned pen to sign in!

Course is in good summer shape right now – greens are pretty lush, held shots and rolled well at medium+ speed. Tees were level and fine. Sand had been machine groomed and it looked like it was adequate to play from, although pretty damp. Fairways/rough were a little less consistent – most fairways were fine and lies were good, but there are many scattered areas of differing grasses or pretty much bare. Some rough areas are mushy wet and/or have some tall grass scattered about.

Didn’t get there in time to hit balls. Putting green open but no pins in the cups. No ranger; snack bar on #7 tee open. No water available on the course. Single carts were available for no additional fee if you wanted one.

Our club plays here every August and conditions now are good compared to many previous years. I see the course is managed by JC Golf now. Almost no wind today, which really makes for a different feel than many years in the past – makes a big difference in club selection and strategy. That darn kikuyu will get you, though. Groomed tight it can be very playable (see Black Gold GC), but in many places here the course lets it grow lush and deep and it just feather-pillows the ball when you hit into it.

Recommended.

Course was busy and we waited every shot POP was 4:19 course is in pretty good shape with exception of the bunkers, they should be played as ground under repair. Course was very wet in the morning anticipating the heat, but when the sun came out around 10 the greens got a little quicker. The greens are showing some abuse as they are soft with many ball marks. We play here alot as we have the week day card and riding is $37 senior. It is a good deal and that is why they are always so busy here.

Played here today with a 12:50 tee time direct from the course's website for $37. My first round since March. I'd purchased a new driver during quarantine, and I couldn't think of many better courses to put a new driver to the test. Course was busy but the staff collectively did a good job checking me in and getting me out on the course on time. As a single, I got my own cart, so we had 3 carts for my foursome. No extra charge for single-rider cart. COVID stuff: Most everyone I saw around the clubhouse seemed to comply with mask requirements, but on the course was a different story. Barely anyone wearing a mask on the course. POP was decent and would've been right at four and a half hours, but something log-jammed everything on 18 and we had to wait about an extra 10 minutes or so to tee off. So total POP was probably around 4:35-4:40.

Conditions are decent. Greens are smooth but medium-slow and perhaps too soft. Maybe it's due to the heat they have to keep them really watered, but they'd play better and roll faster if they weren't so soft. Fairways had good, somewhat thin coverage and not much visual definition between fairway and rough. Rough was cut short but just more scruffy than the fairways. Bunkers were a mixed bag; some good, some crusty, some thin. Tee boxes were decent but tended to be a mix of grasses and cuts. Overall, gave the greens a 7 and everything else a 5.

Recommended, but glad I didn't pay $55 or whatever their morning rates are right now.

Traps - hard pan dirt and wet sand
Greens - were very clean, very receptive always a ball mark to repair and rolled very true, big improvement from 2 weeks ago

Side note, got my 200th birdie today, I know not much compared to others but cool to achieve
