Played Tues may 7th at 7:14, course was empty, got out a few minutes early as a 3 some, no one in front and no one behind. Caught up to a 4 some on 12 and slowed us up. After 14 holes we were out there 2 hours and 20 minutes. It took an hour to play the last 4 holes, so good POP at 3:21 ,but the 4 some bugged us. On 17 we were watching this guy plum bob a 12 foot putt, and he reached down and adjusted his ball 4 times, and then still missed the putt. My friend said no way he could play with a guy like that. These "pros" set such a BAD president with their "routines" and then these "want a bees" think that is how to play golf. Man look at the putt and hit it. Anyway course was in ok shape, tee boxes hard, fairways good, rough a little long, bunkers ok and I was in 8 of them, and greens sometimes bounced a little. BTW we bought the greens card for the 2nd year in a row and it pays $35 vs niw $55.

Played in a small tournament on Sunday morning. Fairly slow round at 5 plus hours but not unexpected. Ate in the clubhouse beforehand and the service was great.

Played in a small tournament on Sunday morning. Fairly slow round at 5 plus hours but not unexpected. Ate in the clubhouse beforehand and the service was great.

The course was not bad. The fairways were generally okay if thin at times. Had a couple of bare lies both otherwise decent. The first fairway looks like it does not drain well and was the softest in the round. Tight lies around the greens. Some areas around the collars that were bare. The sand was hit and miss. There was not much sand in the one bunker I was in and there were complaints from a playing partner at least once. The tees were generally okay except #6 par three with not much grass in the hitting area. It needs work. The rough was generally cut down but with the recent rains there were multiple areas that had not been mown and it was difficult to find balls there.

The greens were very nice. Not as fast as the putting green, but rolled at a decent pace and I did not notice any bumps. They were the highlight of the course.

I always enjoy playing here and Sunday was no exception. Nice layout in good enough shape. People that work there seem to care about what they do. Friendly staff in the bar/restaurant. I'll be back.

At LS South on Sunday, 2/24, for a Match Play event. After all the rain this course was bogged down and CPO but they let carts use the 90* rule today, still alot of soft earth and mud balls so we played LC&P. Back nine fairways were particularly scrappy and uneven, so good call by our 'committee'. Greens were great Poa rolling at medium speed. Rough needs a mow, had to search many times and 3 minutes can be really quick when your in ankle high turf. Bones intact and would be great to see the fairways fill out in Spring to bring this par 74 track back into the limelight it once was prior to the drought. Great staff, friendly, good food & bar area. We'll be back.

Played 1-11-19 early morning for $35 including cart, joining a three some and finishing in 3 hours. Tee boxes were in descent shape, a little thin but mostly level. Fairways were in good winter condition, a little dormant and on the thin side but still descent lies with good roll out. Rough was cut very short, not much longer than the fairways with some bare areas. Was in one fairway bunker that had nice firm sand which made it easy to hit out of. Greens were in good shape, mostly smooth with an occasional bump, rolling medium/fast and semi-soft. For winter time course is in good shape and fun to play.

Played Fri Jan 4th at 656, it was 32 degrees, was told there was no frost delay but it was cart path only until 9 am. At the end on hole 7 I was able to take all the bulky clothing off and golf in my shirt and shorts. So to get to the course, first few holes the ball skidded alot on the grass and the greens, definitely ice, then when it warmed up the greens actually slowed up because of the water from the frost. I use the "unbreakable" plastic tees and had problems getting them in the ground, and I actually broke 4 and my buds broke 3 each. Over all course was in good shape EXCEPT for the traps, absolutely terrible, thin, rocky and impossible. POP was good at 345, we finished 1:15 minutes ahead of our second group, that is lije 4 holes. Just FYI

Teed off out here today 12/28 at 9:30. Took over two hours to play six holes. Got to the 7th tee box with group just getting to the fairway and another on the tee box with us. Didn’t feel like a 6+ hour round. Drove in. Total waste of a day. Pro shop offers no help or compensation. Too bad because the greens are good out here right now.

Played today 12/27. Holiday rates but still reasonable. Checked in on time, but noticed that 4 groups were already waiting on the first tee and we teed off 30 minutes behind reserved tee time. Already knew it was going to be a long day POP over 5.5 hours and finished just as it got dark.Very frustrating day due to pace of play. Marshall was out but kept saying that holes were back to back. I believe they overbooked as usual. The last couple of times we played here the POP was close to 5 hours. The course is overall good condition. Fairways were growing nicely due to all the rain and watering. Greens were smooth and rolled med to fast. Sand traps did have a thin layer of sand which was still easy to get out of. Sad to say that due to the current POP issues this course will be a last resort for our weekly rotation.

Played in the 2-day SCGA Senior Net Championship, an individual net stroke tourney with shotgun starts at noon Monday and 8am Tuesday, 10/29-30/2018. We played the Gold tees at ~6200 yards as this event is for 50+-aged golfers; there was a Senior Flight and a Super Senior Flight (age 65+), with two subflights in each, based on index. We had two mild, sunny days with almost no wind, unusual at this venue. POP was usual for this type of event, at 5+ hours each day.

Overall the course was in pretty good shape, but very wet. They are obviously putting a lot of water on the course, even though temperatures the past couple weeks have been pretty mild. Greens were lush but somewhat spongy, accepting shots with huge ballmarks, and getting very bumpy at the end of the day with all the footprints. The rolled at medium+ speeds and could be very quick downhill. Fairways were hit and miss – you could get a lush lie sitting up nicely on the kikuyu, or get a thin/bare lie on firm, wet ground. Rough was wet and where deeper could be very challenging. Many areas in the fairway and rough with little or no grass were muddy and looked to have been scrapped. Tees were in good condition – sand containers are provided on most par-3s, but the box on tee #6 was empty. Bunkers were very thin and firm, even around the greens.

I’ve been playing Los Serranos for 40 years and my experience is that the course tends to put the pins (F/M/B) fairly close to the B/F centerline of the greens. The SCGA pushed the pins to places where I’ve never seen pin placements at Los Serranos, very much closer to the edges and into some very slopy areas of the greens, making for challenging putting, especially the faster downhill putts.

Most of the water fountains on the course are not working, making it difficult to get water. Long drive to the clubhouse and back if you want to use the bathroom after 9 holes. Snack bar closed at 5pm on Monday.

Played fri oct 5th at 7.06, got out early with no one infront of us for 9 holes. Then we caught a group who stayed at a good pace. Then on 15 we caught a tournament and the last 4 holes were slow. Still over all POP was 350. We finished so early it was too early for lunch and we left. We knew the course greens had been punched but decided to give it a try, should had waited. First 2 greens were decient, then they got progresslvely worse,very bumpy. I guess it is that time of year for maintenance.
