Haven't been out here in a while and love this course when it is being taken care of. Tee'd off at 1115am finishing up around 515pm for a 5 hour round on Saturday as a single joined up with another single and a twosome.
Many holes were backed up with the average waiting times on those holes being 10 minutes.
Hole #4, 5 & 6, 7 on the front.
Holes #10, 12, 14,17 Especially and 18.
Saw plenty of Ambassadors, the waterbassador as well as the cart girl a couple of times both Nines. Not sure what they could have done aside from joining players up instead of sending out twosomes. Towards the end of the round groups of twosomes were joining up to try and speed up the round.
The tee boxes were OK, some were very rough and hard or soft to put a tee in.
Fairways were rather nice with patches here and there. The exception being a few holes where you can see dirt.
The rough wasn't too bad where you could find rough. Some places the ball settled down into 2 inches of grass.
The greens were the highlight with the exception that they are about 90 percent healed from the "half" punching they took at the begining of the month.
They intend to punch the other "half" of all the greens at the end of this month or early November.
The greens were bumpy and slow for uphill putts, fast for downhill putts. Couldn't get the speed of the greens all day.
The sand traps are great, nice fluffy sand, easy to hit out of well taken care of with new sand in d%mn near all the traps. At least the one's I was in.
They are doing a great job at getting this course back into prime shape with the tools they have and the water restricions placed on every golf course.
End of November once the greens completely heal, I will be back.

Played here yesterday. Arrived at the course to find they had punched and sanded the front half of each green. No one gave us a heads up until we had already booked, paid, and checked in. Courses need to be much more up front about this kind of stuff. Funny thing is, the greens may still be in better shape than the fairways. Even with the rain a few days ago, there were a lot of bare spots. It looked like they are aware of the issue as they have spray painted a few areas to either mark them to be fixed or marked them as GUR. I also saw a few groups of 5 out on the course even though it was completely packed and the pace felt more like a Saturday than the Thursday that it actually was. If all you care about is cost, this course probably meets your needs. For a little bit more money, you can get a much better experience elsewhere.

I played here on Veteran's Day at a noon tee time for $32. The course seemed horribly unprepared to handle the number of people on the course. We ended up being delayed by 30 minutes. A slow round the whole way prevented us from playing the last whole. One of the problems with this course is that there are alot of short par 4s that tempt players to drive at the green, when they shouldn't. The group in front of us sat at the tee box waiting from the group in front of them to finish the hole. Then one player hooked it into the trees and another sliced it across to another fairway. Marshalls were non existent to speed things along. The greens were pretty decent , but the fairways were thin and rock hard. I preferred to be in the rough. As I mentioned, the course is short and if you play it correctly it is very easy to score well. The views of the lake are nice at least and the layout of the course is interesting. I crossed it off my list in SD county but don't anticipate returning anytime soon

Played 6-29-15 afternoon on a golfnow deal for $19.50 including cart in about 4 hours as a threesome waiting on pretty much every hole for the foursome in front of us. Course is in just average shape. Tee boxes are OK, some a little thin and un-level but not to bad overall. Fairways were in descent shape with a few dried out areas. Rough was cut down very low and not much of a factor. Sandtraps were a little thin and on the firm side. Greens were a little bumpy and rolling medium/slow.

Course condition was very good as was the pro shop . 2 Carts broke down but I was quickly brought out a new one. Good. Now the not so good... Asked if I could use ALL IN, in restaurant and after... Continue »

Course condition was very good as was the pro shop . 2 Carts broke down but I was quickly brought out a new one. Good. Now the not so good... Asked if I could use ALL IN, in restaurant and after a 45 sec ignore, was told "grill is down stairs I CAN get a drink here. Not friendly or welcoming at all. head to the grill and am met by a cook who looked like he had not changed his shirt in a week. Multiple GREASE stains and also not friendly. I had a burger (OK) and was handed not 1 but 2 drinks at the same time on a HOT day ! Relief cook comes in also not friendly at all. Looks at me when I shoo away the birds trying to take my lunch and says . "They dont bother me ..." NICE ! great People skills. Overall not a +1 experience.

Relatively short course which has a variety of types of hole, including one or two where you need advice from someone who has played the course before. Greens fast and true, but firmer although they will mostly hold a medium iron ok. Fairways are ok with a few bare patches. Tee boxes are a bit rough and uneven. Not a lot of rough and some significant bare hard pan areas under trees.

Played this afternoon @ 12:52. Booked a time on GolfZing (had better rates for this course than GolfNow did) and met up with another single and played in about 3:30. We played through 1 foursome on #3 and that was it. A bit breezy during the round, but not more than a 1 club or so wind. Course was in pretty decent shape, greens were nice and smooth with a little bit of speed to them as the round wore on. Overall shorter course, but still with some good challenging holes including 200+ yard par 3s. Be sure to take advantage of the par 5s (except maybe the 570 yarder on the back) and the short par 3s and 4s. I didn't make a whole lot of putts but played one of my best rounds this year. Not bad for $20-30 with cart. Hit 'em straight!

Played Mission Trails on Easter Sunday . great holiday special foursome for $100.00 with a cart . had an 11:07 a.m. tee time, we played in just under 4 hours (awesome) . pace of play and service was good for the day. Cart service and staff all were too-toos, all flag locations were moved up so pin hunting was easy. Even without the discount this is a great course on the front 9 to manage your distance and club selection, back 9 is wide open after the 11th hole. Always affordable wind comes up in the afternoons after say around 1 pm.

Played Mission Trails on Sunday 12/15/2013. The practice area has grass and mat tees but the grass area was severly chewed up. The fairways were decent the greens were soft but very bumpy and I saw a few puts bump off line. Back nine is more enjoyable than the front with the lake views. Pretty short par 5's allow chances to go for green in two with minimal risk.
