One of my favorite courses to play ! Just "fit's my eye". I find the diversity of the holes very enjoyable and particularly the back nine, the way it kind of winds through the trees/valley. Great design which provides many fun holes, without being too tough, but also no pushover either.

Condition was a mixed bag. Greens were the best part of the course, fairways were hit or miss, the rough was thick and juicy. Worst part of the course were the bunkers.

Great staff. Always friendly and accommodating. Very well priced. Wish it were closer because I would play here a lot more.

Played early 4.5 hour round on Sunday. The pro shop staff is always welcoming and friendly, not so from the cart attendant. The practice facilities are basic but adequate. The tee boxes are mostly all level but a little thin and shaggy. The fairways have very good coverage and provide for some roll if you find them. The rough is pretty brutal if you can find your ball. There are quite a few rodents throughout the course with some doing a little damage. The traps were pretty sadly cared for and lacked sand. The greens are really good with few marks, good coverage and rolled at a medium pace. The scenery at Woods is above average and the rates are reasonable. It is a little ways off the beaten path BUT well worth the drive. Recommended

9/20 using under par $60 2some 840 tee time POP 420 following a somewhat slow 4some--but a nice day in a nice setting. Course itself is in transition phase with planned punching starting next Monday so greens were medium/slow speed needing a good mow and roll but not going to happen with the work planned. Today a little bumpy and more grain to deal with.
Fairways were ok but with a few thin areas 75% of the lies ok with the rest being marginal. Rough mostly rather thin with some areas that were nicely lush. Not much collar around greens so chipping was from rough lies. I imagine that the fairways and rough will also be getting some attention in the near future.
Tees were in good shape level with good cover. Bunkers were well groomed with thick heavy sand and were quite playable.
Staff were really friendly.
Looking forward to returning in late October when conditions should be primo.
I am conflicted about providing a rating due to the timing as current conditions are effected by the upcoming maintenance and are likely to be much better in 3-6 weeks.

I always enjoy playing this course. I think there are several holes that are a pure pleasure to play. The course seems to provide a nice "flow" The staff is always wonderful and very accommodating. Using an Under par groupon, it was a great bargain as well.

However I must admit I was disappointed with the overall condition of the course. All the fairways were extremely thin as were many areas of the rough. The sand in the greenside bunkers was very compacted. While the greens were very nice and rolled well, since we only had ONE cut green, as a result they were SLOW ! Like 6 or 7 on the stimp. (Still lots of morning dew, so at least by the back nine they were picking up a little pace.

I highly recommend this course, condition not withstanding. Some fun holes providing enough of a challenge to keep your interest, but nothing so hard as to beat you up.

Fairway is dormant with lots of brown patches. Rough is okay, very minimal rough here mostly native shrubbery.

Greens here are perfect except a few of the shorter par 4 which take a lot of darts. I inquired and it turns out they have 2 volunteers a day who come and fix the ball marks and it shows.

Easy course, but fun layout. The front nine is meh but that back nice is special.

Bunkers needs to be raked and need some love however.

Good value, opens up after the morning rush.

the round took 4 hours and 45 min to complete...we waited on every hole...the course was in poor condition very thin grass in fairways and the greens seemed like we were playing on mushy moss. Not sure if they mow the fairways or greens daily. Overall experience was blah..nice customer service...course is not in great shape...feels beat up and stressed out.

Played here early Sat morning. POP 3:50 :) Greens are absolutely perfect and very lush. Someone puts in a lot of love in the greens and it shows. They were rolling today. Wow. I never saw a putt bounce once. I was draining 15 footers all day and had lots of near misses from 30+. Putting is fun when greens are this nice. Rolling a notch below medium fast. One issue I have to bring out was I had a cup spit a made putt out with a clank because the cup wasn't cut low enough. Never seen that before. Bunkers are not good. Were wet and had river channels in most. I was shocked to find one green side bunker that had literal mounds in the bunkers. The bunkers were clearly not raked before the round and were poor from a maintenance standpoint. Fairways were okay. Lot's of brown and dirt patches. It was beyond dormant grant. Lots of dead areas. Fairway was worse and there really isn't much rough here. Tee boxes were lush but a few slopped away and were not level. Clubhouse amenities are very limited. Friendly staff. Nice practice facility. The course is mostly what you see what you get. A few layup potion holes, but mostly short par 3's, 4's and 5's. The par 5's are the treat here. 3 of 4 are easily reachable but require an accurate second shot. If you can drive it well you will eat this course up. My buddy who is far from scratch was 1 under through nine and missed every birdie putt he had. I was not hitting my wedges or driver too well and was 2 over on the back nine. You can make every par putt here so you have a large margin of error. And there's no rough with wide fairways. If you are a decent hitter you will be bored by this course. I'd recommend this course for beginners or elderly. Not challenging enough for it to be too much fun. Marginal value and great place of play but it's way too far out of the way to be wort to adding to a rotation in my opinion. Much better courses nearby to enjoy instead for less.

10/23 using Underpar $60 some voucher on a rather hotish am with an occasional breeze and no waiting--pro shop sent us out "when ready" and we moved along quite nicely just being slowed by our own ineptitude.POP 3 1/2 The course appears fairly wide but even some what appeared to be only marginally errant shots found their way into some serious trouble. Fairways are cut down and were somewhat thin in places--reportedly in preparation for over seeding--had decent lies at least 80% of the time nonetheless. Rough was about 2 inches and patchy impeding forward progress and providing a challenge. Bunkers have fine grain nicely compacted sand and were well maintained. Tees had good cover and with the exception of # 10 are flat and level. Greens are fully recovered and are smooth rolling consistently at medium speed. Large greens with subtle contours. Rather soft so the ball marks are plentiful. #15 has some bare spots affecting aesthetics. Friendly staff with a golfer oriented attitude and gave accurate info about conditions when I made the tee time.

The staff is always great and the pace of play is usually right around four hours. The tee boxes this time here were a little beat up on a few holes and were covered with low flying bees! The breeze was not around but the bugs and gnats were today - terrible! The fairways were hit and miss with a few thin and shaggy spots on many holes. The rough was thick and thin depending on the hole you were playing. I found myself in a few traps that were soft and hard and had not been raked by the players or staff!! The greens were very bumpy this round and covered with ball marks by morons who have no respect for the course or others. The course is run by JC Resorts and is not at the same level as most of their properties. The discounts available here make the fees a good deal however. The area and scenery are also a great draw. I RATE this course 6.5.
