Played here this morning with bsparks1961, using the Forelinx membership. We had a 6:56 tee time and were paired with another single as the first group off. We had to wait on maintenance a couple times on the front nine, but overall a great morning pace of about 3:15.

The course was in very good condition overall. Very wet and soggy early, but by the time we finished the course had dried out nicely. A few tee boxes a bit shaggy, but fine enough. Fairways generally very lush with consistent lies. Rough not much of a factor, but again good coverage throughout. Bunkers were extra fluffy. Maybe a tad soft for my liking in the fairway bunkers and the ball can easily plug in the greenside ones, but I'd rather them be too soft than lacking sand like a lot of places. The greens are still recovering from aeration last week, so they are inconsistent. Some have healed better than others. Overall, they rolled slow and were somewhat bumpy, but in another couple weeks they should be great.

This was only my second time here and I enjoyed it more this time around. The conditions were better, the staff was great and the deal seemed quite good as part of the Forelinx package based on how many rounds you can get in on each course. Normally, I consider this place fairly overpriced for what you get, but today's experience was nice and it seemed more worth it as part of that deal.

Played RB Inn 10/20, with Forelinx reservation. Joined with another 3some and was first off. Pace of play 3.5 hours. Tees were in very good shape as were fairways and bunkers. Greens had been punched maybe a week to two ago and were a little bumpy, but not a major hindrance. They seem to really be paying attention to the maintenance, so would expect them to be very nice in another week or two - don't let the practice green fool you, it looks awful. The course is surrounded by houses, which I normally hate, but they've done a nice job with trees and the boundary areas where it didn't bother me at all. Fun course.

Well designed and maintained golf course. Everything seems to be well kept, attractive, and tough enough to command our attention on every hole. Some of the greens are smaller than we expected, at least from the approach shots, and called for us to adjust our approaches accordingly. Greens are holding well, fairways very nice, and many of the greens are well protected.

We all joined JC Golf, partly because of this course, so we'll be playing it again soon--even after playing it twice in a month.

An enjoyable experience, each time.

Played in and company gold tournament on Friday, yes in the rain. The course soaked up the rain pretty well, there were spots that were quite damp thou.

Unlike the last reviewer because it was raining (quite heavily at times too) the greens were a little softer. They did roll pretty well all things considering but a tad slow for my taste.

Fairways were good, not much roll out there but generally good to hit off. Rough was not penalizing and even around the greens I don't remember it being that bad either. I wasn't in a bunker but they looked nasty to be in from the rain.

It's not a course that the will wow you from a design perspective and has houses bordering one side on most holes. It's a decent track for the right price for the right golfer, it's just not a place I go out of my way to play.

The good: Fairways and tee boxes were thick, full and lush. Rough was lush but not penal at all.

The not so good: Greens were HARD and didn't accept well-struck shots. POP was painfully slow as the course was packed with a tournament.

Verdict: The layout isn't too bad, and the greens roll pretty true. I wouldn't pay much more than 50 bucks for a round, especially on a weekend where pace of play is an issue.

3/15/15 @ 11:20 (Underpar.com Deal). Finally able to get out and hit the links with hubby (rstang06)...it's been awhile for me as I don't get out to play as much as 2014. Couldn't have asked for a better day. Temp reached 92, and wind didn't kick up and become a problem until mid-way through the round, then died off as suddenly as it picked up. First time we played was around December and it was cold and course was in okay shape; with a lot of work being done...and it showed their efforts today. Course was pretty spot on. Nice and green with only a few areas GUR. Fairways were nice, very easy to hit off of. Rough was beautiful and very playable out of as well. Bunkers were nice fluffy white sand (some were a little damp as the worker bees were making their rounds watering the fringe and greens). Greens were very nice as well (for the time of day we were playing). Aside from the footprints, a little more prevalent as the day wore on, they rolled pretty true. Much faster than the practice putting area. The course is tucked away beside the RB Inn, and it's a trek from the very crowded parking lot to the Pro Shop. First timers here could be very confused where to check in. You have to follow the walkway down around behind the Main lobby area, past the outdoor dining patio, and you'll see the golf carts (turn right into the Pro Shop). Putting green is located in front of the outdoor dining area. No chipping practice area. $5 for a 40 ball bucket, which you have to drive out through the parking lot over to the adjacent other Country Club of Rancho Bernardo, where there is the driving range (hit off mats; but they are the nice mats). Starter is VERY pleasant and helpful with all the hints and cart path only speal to start your day. Cart Girl certainly made her rounds - we must've seen her at least 6 times - sweet/friendly as well. I truly enjoy this track. GPS on carts. Ball washers and Ice cold drink stations throughout. VERY lady friendly from the Gold tees. It'll certainly make you work for a good score though. Pin placement will definitely make/break your game. Will certainly be looking for more coupons and hopefully score another deal for future play. This course is in the best shape it's been in years. Those that were disappointed a year ago (when it was in pretty shabby shape)...give it another go...I think you'll enjoy it. POP: 4 1/2.

Played here yesterday with sr129 on some coupon deal, two for $94, including cart. We hit the range and that was fairly crappy. It was small, limited flight (240 max), and the balls felt like rocks. The course, on the other hand, was pretty nice. Lush grass everywhere with only a few tightl lies here and there. The greens were really nice. They rolled medium fast and were receptive to most shots. Fairways seemed wide, but were rather narrow. The course winds its way through a housing tract. Err to the right, as left might be ob. Unfortunately, most holes had a creek or a drainage channel running down the right side and the fairways tended to drain that way. Customer service was great. The beverage cart visited us several times and personnel throughout the facility were friendly and helpful.

Most of my lies today were great. Greens were in very good shape and ran fast. True for the most part, but did notice a putt or two in our group bounce slightly off line. Most were receptive, but a couple were not. Customer service was fantastic. TIP... Most of the greens slope from back to front and many slope "A LOT " Keeping your ball below the hole is paramount. If you go long or short side yourself on the "High Side" It will take a miracle shot to get anywhere near the hole and a good shot to keep the ball on the green. I found more then my share of bunkers today. But they were the best bunkers I have played from in a long time with a perfect amount of soft sand to hit from. Though most of the fairway bunkers have high lips making those very difficult to get any distance from. Over all a good course in good condition, but over priced at full rake rate. In my opinion the course is a $60 course at most. IMO. Old style course design. Mix of Dog leg Left, DL Right, straight holes lined with trees with adjacent fairway's often on other side of tree line and houses lining the other. I enjoyed the layout and how many of the DL Left demanded a draw off the T, with bunkers that would catch any balls that didn't turn. Or you had to lay up leaving a long approach left. But some where just visually deceptive, making you think you had to curve the ball left or right, but in reality you didn't. Most of the fairway landing areas were plenty wide and most Par 5's under 500 yrds from blues, giving many a chance to reach in two with out a lot of trouble. Except for the 18.

Played with Rat-Patrol here today using the UnderPar "2 for $94" deal. I had booked 10:32 but they had us down for 10:40, which was a little weird but not a big deal. Check-in was smooth and the starter and cart guy were both really friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately, the course is just in "ok" condition. It certainly isn't worth full rack rates, but for $47, it wasn't bad. On the plus side, the greens are outstanding, very smooth and very fast. The bunkers were the other highlight, full of rather heavy sand and in really good condition. The rest of the course is just "meh" – tee boxes were a little beaten up, fairways were far from lush and the rough was pretty spotty.

This was my first time here and I found the layout a little underwhelming. The pictures on the website make it look like this course is full of old-school charm, so kudos to the JC Golf marketing department, because to me the layout lacked much character. It was fine, but I expected to really love it. Maybe my expectations were too high. Anyway, we had a fun time and I'm glad I finally played here.
