Played here on the Monday special and it's worth every one of the 60 dollars they charge!

Played ridgeline and creekside (canyon crest was just punched and is closed) and thoroughly enjoyed both although I thought creekside had the better variety of holes and challenges (plus I scored better on it:)). That said, ridgeline is no cake walk (played from the blacks on both sides) as it has the 670 yard par 5 that is tight and hilly all the way down.

Off the tee it's generally tight as there tends to be barranca garbage on one side of each fairway and mounded hillside on the other - I reckon accuracy and position off the tee sets everything up here.

Greens tend to have a high side and a low side that runs off into aforementioned junk, so I would always recommend shooting for the high side - not only does the ball tend to funnel back towards the middle, but each green has an extensive and tightly mowed apron, so anything that rolls close to the low side tends to run off pretty far and into impossible positions. A few greens are table tops.

Tees were immaculate, fairways were very green and lush considering it's been over 100 the last few days, and the sand looked soft, white and fluffy in the traps (although I never visited one). Greens were glassy smooth although some on the ridgeline nine had a lot of repaired ballmark damage. There is a lot of grain on these greens and it can radically affect both speed and line - took me a good few holes to get used to it then I could start holing some nice putts. Worth factoring in (it grew towards the low side on virtually every green).

Played Ridgeline and Creekside. Somewhat dissapointed in the overall routing of the course. Three par 5s on the Ridgeline, one playing 670+ narrow steeply downhill yards. Many overly gimmicky elevated par 3 tee shots which play into stiff wind. To many short par 4s and long par 3s. Generally there seemed to be a lack of flow from hole to hole. On the plus side there are some very nice green structures. Smooth and fast greens. Uniform fairways. Playing conditions are very good. I do imagine i'll enjoy Moorpark more on return visits.

It has been at least 1.5 years since I've played here and the course was in outstanding shape. Fairways were lush, greens were perfect, the one sand trap I was in was perfect and the rough was nice as well. We played in 4 hours and 10 minutes on a Sunday with a 930 tee time. If our games weren't so ragged, we could've easily played in under 4 hours. The was no one in front of us or behind us the whole time we were there. It was a truly enjoyable experience.

Amazing course. I liked the wider fairways on Canyon Crest nine as it was the first nine I played--gave me some time to warm up to the tight ones on the next nine. By the time I got to the Creekside nine I was feeling pretty confident with a birdie on the 10th. Then a run of 8 straight tough/difficult holes that were relentless followed. The final hole on this day was a nice relief as it gave you a wide fairway to aim for and was a shortish par 5-my mates hit short-mid irons in for their second shots. Greens were near perfect. I can imagine they could get much faster if they choose to. I felt they were a very fair speed and read very true. I will look forward to a return and try the Ridgeline nine in the future.

The playing conditions at Moorpark Country Club and near perfect right now. The greens are as close to perfect I’ve seen anywhere in a long time. Bent Grass, Very Smooth, Med/Fast and holding shots. I played the Creekside/Canyon Crest, my favorite combo, loved every minute of it. Having played this course many times, this is as good of shape as I’ve seen it. If you have never played Moorpark CC, your in for an experience that features a beautiful Peter Jacobson design with a very fair/challenging/fun layout, scenic views, wonderful driving range/practice areas, friendly professional service and a massive exceptional clubhouse. This course is the hole package and worth every penny.

Highly recommended – Play it soon!

BTW - It only took 4 hrs to play 18 holes - love that!

Played Moorpark CC this afternoon at 1pm with JohnnyGK and Iscraaatch. Got us out om Canyon Crest/Creekside from the blue tees. Breezy conditions today made for a great challenge. The greens here at Moorpark are in great shape right now. They are bent greens which are my favorite greens to putt on. They are so pure right now I would rate them close to a 10. Very little to no ball marks and holding iron shots beautifully. The fairways are in very good shape with great lies. The rough is lush lining the fairways and in spots it could be just a sand wedge back into the fairway as the smart play. I was in 3 bunkers and the sand was consistent from bunker to bunker and in good shape. The tees were very lush and most every tee here is level. The pace of play was 4 hours and we could have played even quicker as we practiced several shots and were never pushed. The carts have great GPS system to all pin locations. Moorpark is always in great shape...you need to come out now to treat yourself to some pure greens.

Played Wednesday 5/26. The course is in great condition right now. The fairways are lush. Tee boxes are nice. There were a couple of tee boxes that were under repair. From the looks of them, they're going to be very nice when reopened. The two sand traps I visited were in very nice shape. Fluffy sand. Greens are rolling true, and are medium speed. Go out and play MPCC now. It's a delight

Played Sunday. Course is coming back nicely after aeration. Only issue was pace of play. 5 hours plus. Got to number 6 on Ridgeline and there were 4 groups there. Called the shop, they sent someone out but he failed to do anything except help rake the traps. Told us he was the only one there so there was nothing he could do. This is a course where you need to play the correct tees so it you need a driver to reach the par threes, please move up.

A few of them were still slightly sandy. But all were smooth and rolled very true. Greens, fairways, and rough all in excellent shape. This course is very playable right now.
