I was impressed ! I play a lot of different courses. ( Quite a few private ) Olivas is simply the best conditioned course I have played this year...... period! I really really enjoyed playing here, aside from the near perfect condition, the course just "fits my eye" I think that the layout is fantastic. well designed and playable, but presents enough of a challenge to make you think. The fact that most of the greens do not have bunkers would normally make them boring, but that's not the case with Olivas. While you can run the ball up, the contures create a host of options and challenges, and do not slow play for those who have difficulty from the bunkers.

The trees, while not many are wonderfully positioned to force you to position the ball properly in the fairway. The greens with all the slopes make it critical to position the ball on the correct portion of the green or be faced with very difficult or impossible two putt/or up & down. I found Olivas a pleasure toplay, only wish it weren't 120 miles from home.

Got a great price on golfnow, $32.50 w fees. Haven't played here in years, before the remodel. We were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. The tee boxes were in great shape, the fairways were in great shape, if you hit the fairway, you would have a perfect lie. The greens were pitted with repaired ball marks but they were very smooth and didn't have any bad bounces. Pace of play was under 4 hours. I would recommend this course to everyone .

The course is still recovering from aerification, especially on the back nine. It could use another week or two, then it will be great. The fairways and rough are in good shape; some thin areas here and there, but not bad. A couple of areas in the typical layup spots had a lot of divots (100 yards out on some of the fairways) and you could find yourself in an unfilled divot if you're unlucky. I filled as many as I could, then refilled my sand bottle from a bunker. Speaking of bunkers, they were all in great shape: lots of fluffy, white sand raked nicely for the junior tournament that was following us a couple groups back. Good times today with rgm2525, despite the abyssmal pace of play.

Played 3-25-14. The course in in good shape. Most of the water hazards are dry but fairways and rough are looking good. The greens were still recovering from being punched but it shouldn't be long before they are healed. Did not visit many bunkers but sand seemed to be in good condition. This course has the feel of being far from everything till you hear car horns and you haven't traveled that far. It's also a very walkable course. Will play here anytime I get the chance!

FIRST TIME PLAYING THIS COURSE AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. TEE BOXES WERE LEVEL THROUGHOUT. FAIRWAYS WERE LUSH AND FLUSH. TRAPS WERE CONSISTENT AND BLUFFY. GREENS WERE FIRM AND MED/FAST WTIH TRUE ROLL. JUST DON'T GET IN THE ROUGHS, IT CAN BE SCORECARD KILLER. POP WAS GOOD SINCE IT WAS ON FRIDAY AND MOST PEOPLE WERE AT WORK. MAN...THOSE CHAIRS, THEY ARE THE MOST COMFORTABLE THAT I HAVE EVER SAT ON AT A GOLF COURSE. MOST DEFINITELY WILL RETURN

Played 2-27-14 afternoon with GDR23 and two other buddies teeing of around 12:45 and finishing around 5:15. Tee boxes are level and lush with minor divot damage on three pars. Fairways are in good shape a little thin but still ok to hit from.Rough is not to long maybe an inch longer then fairways. Was in one sand trap which was firm and wet, but that was from the previos nights rain, sand traps are usually in great shape here. Greens where in good shape holding shots and rolling true, but on the slow side. Alot of bushes and trees have been removed outside the fences, making some of the holes visually easier but not as scenic. Pro shop staff is one of the nicest around.

greens were in great condition, sand traps consistant, fairways were nice, the rough was ok....they did do some major thinning of some areas of the course just out of bounds....which has made some of the holes easier since they cut down bushes /trees etc.. takes some of the challenge out of some of the holes. price is good. and crowds are fine.

Played Olivas Links Monday 2/24 with buddies for the first time since November of last year. I thought the greens rolled very nicely. Probably around a 9 on the stimp. Uphillers needed to be struck with pace to make em. They were soft on iron approaches. Some greens had a couple of fresh ballmarks that we fixed but overall I think the course is doing a good job with the greens. The fairways are becoming a little greener and a little bit lusher. The winter dormant grass is still there in places which gives you some nice roll on drives out here. Was not in any bunkers but playing partners commented that it was nicely raked beach sand that was thick. The tees for the most part are all level and semi-lush---nice teeing grounds. One major difference is they cleared all weeds and trees in the lake on right side of #11 and left of 16 fairway. If you go in those red hazards you have a chance to find and advance your ball unlike before. The staff let our group go out a little early which is always appreciated. Love the layout here especially amen corner #11, #12 and #13. Practice bunker by the driving range is receiving a face lift. Really looking forward to some spring and summer rounds out here---good job Olivas.

Today, I played Olivas Park with my buddy longball23 GK member and two buddies that are not GK members. Our tee time was at 12 but the Olivas Park staff let us playing a little earlier. We finish playing 18 holes in 4 1/2 hours. We didn't wait for any body, the weather was excellent a little bit of wind but not to much. The fairs ways were in good conditions, the tee boxes were very well kept and level, the sand bankers had good amount of sand, the greens were excellent (but it will be great if other players do fix their ball marks). Overall, I will grade Olivas Park Golf Course an 8. The pro shop staff were great and very friendly, I liked that. I had a very enjoyable game of golf.
