Walked the blues (72.0/121/6761) as a single, playing early to avoid the wind in calm, overcast conditions. POP was excellent, I let a husband/wife in a cart play through on #6, otherwise, I wasn't pushed or pushing anyone AD. The greens were listed as a 9.6 on the stimp but putted slower. They had recently been lightly sanded and still putt a little bumpy @ times. However, they are 90% recovered after aeration and I suspect the expected upcoming rain will have them back to normal by the weekend. The fairways & rough are both much more green than the last time I played here. They are in what I would consider normal April conditions for this course, good overall. The tees were well maintained, the tee markers looked like they had been regularly rotated. The sand traps were much better than the last time I played here. Medium brown sand, fairly hard packed in the fairway bunkers, much softer around the greens, very well maintained. Customer Service was excellent as usual. Using the GK $26 voucher to play here early when other comparable local courses are charging more has gotten my attention and business to the two RR courses recently. Smart marketing, I hope that deal continues, it currently separates RR from Olivas, Rustic etc. and makes it jump them on my own playability/cost benefit analysis of the better local courses. Other than the still recovering greens, I thought the Vineyard course was in better shape overall than the Lakes.
