Played twilight this afternoon 1/12 with a buddy to avoid the Simi/Moorpark/Valley winds. We drove up to the course and not an ounce of wind. Beautiful day to play golf. We were greeted and treated very nicely in the pro-shop, excellent customer service. They have two putting greens here and a driving range with mats. The greens today were in excellent condition, not many balls marks and probably rolling around a 10 on the stimp. They were semi-quick chipping and held iron shots well. The sand in the bunkers are soft and in good shape. The tee's for the most part were level, a few un-level. The fairways were not in the best shape but were not terrible... hit and miss. The rough around the greens were not in good shape and was very difficult to chip out of......different types of grass/hay growing different ways and thick which grabbed your wedges when chipping. The pace of play was excellent as we walked the tips as a twosome in 3 hours 45 minutes. No cart girl or marshall on the course. Reasonable prices at $18 walking for twilight. The reason I love this course is the peace of mind you get playing back in the mountains.

drove up to Ojai from Camarillo today and it was a very enjoyable day. The staff at Soule Park are very friendly and welcoming. The course was in good condition and the greens were great as usual. It was a very busy day there and our group finished in about 4.5 hours.

WE enjoyed a leisurely pace of play on a very hot day. The course is very scenic and the many sand traps come in to play on almost every hole. The fairways were mostly level but they are a little thin right now. The greens were undulating but in great condition.

My master plan was to go up to Ojai and play Soule Park for the first time and be the first on the course so I could find myself around, take some pictures and enjoy the scenery. When I got there I saw some fo the thickest fog I've ever seen. I was forced to wait to tee off so I could figure out where I was going. I eventually teed off and had a great experience on a great course. I didn't expect the course to be as challenging as it was. From the Oak tees (the tips) there are several 450+ yards par 4's. I felt like I was on tour. on the 245 yard par 3...I considered hitting driver even though I settled on a three wood. However, the layout was great as there were some shorter Par 5's and a short par 4 that added some vareity to the course. The greens were a little on the slow side and were somewhat deceiving from the fairway. Large aprons of short fringe surrounded many of the greens (kind of like Rustic) and made it tough to decipher if the pin was in front, back, left or right as the fringe and green looked the same from 170 yards. Fairways were very nice. The scenery was great as I felt like I was golfing in the wilderness. I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting this course in my rotation sooner. I will definitely be back and recommend the course to the traveling golfer.

Played behind a Jr. tournament Sunday afternoon 4/6/08. Many more divots and ballmarks were unrepaired than usual, possibly attributable to that tournament? The greens were a little below average on speed but were decent overall. Both the tees and traps were maintained well above average. The fairways were in the best shape of any Ventura County course I've played in the past year except Rustic Canyon. Great views, fun course, definitely worth the drive up to Ojai.

Played twilight today (4/6/2008). Fairways were in good shape. The fairways were lush with new grass and well manicured at least from the last time our group played out there. The greens were very slow from what I remember but were in OK to good shape overall(some ball marks). The wind was up today on the front nine. This course can be challenging from the tips but fair..and does reward good shots. Some tough par 3's I feel. Staff was nice and pace of play was good considering we were following a junior golf tourney event. Will be back for sure and hopefully the greens will be improved a tad.

Ahh...but the greens were in excellent conditionwere not talking off the scale of the stimp meter, but smooth and challenging in regards to the undulations and plateaus. Ball position is key...being on the short side very penalizing....I will definately return and hope the spring brings better fairways...
