I played here 8/5 for the first time and loved it. Great layout, good conditions, really beautiful scenery and a hell of a bargain. I will definitely go back if and when I'm in the area.

Played first time 8/7. Interesting course. A very different layout with some challenges. HUGE undulating greens that made long putts challenging and fun. Links style run-ups with large tight-cut aprons required rethinking approach shots. Visually a beautiful course. Many of the bunkers had very high greenside lips! Very walkable course but we probably shouldn't have walked it mid-day in 100F heat! Wish we lived closer, I'd like to play here again.

Played 8-7-11. Walked on around 1 pm. and got right out. Fun course and one I would play again. Very beatable course with some interesting holes. Greens were in great shape and huge. Greens added a level of challenge that made the experience more satisfying. I am coining a new term for the bunkers on this course. They all are deep with large lips. I call them Mick Jagger bunkers. There was some wide bladed grass growing into some areas that doesn't bode well if not stopped. Hope they stay on top of things as this is a fun course and very family friendly.

First time out (at) Soule since they renumbered the holes. Greens putted nicely, firm and medium fast. Traps were well maintained rake wise but beware, hardpan was barely below the surface in many areas. Weeds/Crabgrass were infringing on many tee boxes, but they were generally lush otherwise. Fairways were very playable and the rough was normal for Soule, could be very deep and 10 ft. away dirt or almost like fairway.

Played Soule this morning 7/24 at 8:55am with Nickesquire1. Fairways are in good shape and are thick and lush...areas just around the fairways have some squirrel holes and uneven hardpan burned rough so stay clear from those areas. Greens were fast and in good shape. Rolling pure around a 10.5 on the stimp. It was a nice change from the courses that I have been playing with slow poa. Greens are the best part of the course right now. Approaches and chips must have some spin to get close. Tee boxes level for the most part and lush. Was in one sand bunker(greenside on 16) and it had firmer sand. Pace of play was 4 hours 15 minutes walking. Solid layout from the back tees with challenges on #6, #8, #14 and #15... Bring water and liquids if you play here in the summer and are not the first ones out. Starter friendly, range average....try a Ruben's burrito to go on Signal street after the round.....good times.

Really great time. This was my first time at Soule Park and it was excellent. Greens were nearly perfect. They were quick, smooth, and tricky. It's a great layout in a very serene and peaceful setting. It is truly a walk in the park. Fairways were very good, but starting to show stress from heat in some areas. Not the best practice facility, but serves it's purpose. Very cozy facility and friendly people. Will be back when I am in the area, for sure!

Seems to be a bit overhyped of a course. Don't get me wrong, the conditions were good, and the pace of play was great, but I don't think I would make a trek out from LA for it. Definitely a walkable course. The fairways were good, some parts were a bit sandy, the greens seemed slow to me. It's a course that you should come prepared. If you don't know the layouts of the course, your ball will more likely to be OB.

Out for a round this morning 4/30 with a buddy. We were very impressed with the nice lush fairways. These fairways are as lush as I have seen Soule Park in some time. Tees lush as well with not every tee being level but you could always find a spot that was OK. Aprons(fringe) were very firm and cut thin today and chips and approach shots needed to be struck with spin. Greens were medium pace putting wise and seemed to be quicker when chipping the ball. The greens looked super healthy. Some rough around the greens and fairways had some lush spots that could make chipping tough. I was in two greenside bunkers and one fairway bunker and the sand was in decent to good shape. We walked the tips in 4 hours which to me is a nice pace for a weekend morning round. The staff was wonderful in the pro-shop and the weather was beautiful this morning with no hardly no wind...glad we made the drive up this morning as the Simi/Moorpark winds were howling when we left. Hope to be back more this year.....try and play this one before they punch the greens on 5/10 and 5/11.

Out late this afternoon 12/23 with buddy from Midwest...we played the Orange Tees...pace of play was good at 4 hours as we finished just before dark....greens looked great and were healthy..little to no ball mark damage and very green. They putted very slow due to all the rain. Fairways were still wet but all were playable except portions of #17 and #18. Fairways had some mud from the rain but most of the fairways I saw many spots of nice turf and some nice green grass growing. I think the fairways will be nice after all the rain is gone and the turf gets a chance to dry hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Tee boxes level for the most part with a lot of sod to tee your ball on. Was not in any bunkers but witnessed of course that they were dirt and hard packed due to the rains. They switched the 9's around here from the last time I played here which was in the GK tourney in April 2010. I like the new routing of holes other than starting on a downhill par 3. Soule has many long par 4 holes that challenge you as well as two very tough par 3's. #8(par 4) which was the old #17 will challenge the best of players. We walked this course for 21 bucks which was a good deal....I like several holes out here and the peace of the Ojai mountains...I'll be back.
