Played Sunday, 3/3, with a 9:28a tee time with GK'ers Noeldaof and John_T, and joined by a vacationing single. Could not of asked for a better Vegas day in March. Temps in the 70s and only a slight breeze for 16 holes. The typical Paiute wind did not pick up until the last 2 holes, and they actually were helping winds. We played in 4.5 hours, barely waiting on the group ahead and never seeing the group behind us. An absolute steal for $60 as an free e-club member. Good practice and warm up areas. Wolf has there own area away from Sun and Snow. Grass driving range with plenty of free balls and space. Putting green was the same speed as the course and there is a chipping/sand area. Conditions were great. Tee boxes level with little damage. Fairways were lush and firm, with very little divot damage. Rough was only 1-2 inches in most spots, and easy to hit out of. Bunkers were my only complaint as they were inconsistent (some fluffy, some packed). A few had small pebbles and rocks in them. Greens were outstanding! Firm with a fast/medium speed. Putts rolled true with little or no ball marks. From watching my playing partners attack the pins, well struck shots were holding. Paiute is north west of Vegas, about 30 minutes from the Strip, with 3 Pete Dye courses. I would describe the Wolf as "desert links," fairways wider than they look from the tee, with few flat lies. It definitely challenges the short game, with a few false fronts and shaved areas around the greens. Missing the green is not an easy up and down. Terrific greens, and not "tricked out." Very gradual undulations. Paiute would be great for a GK event.

The greens seems to roll like it hasn't completely healed from aeration, it is a little bumpy at times, but it holds a properly struck shot in with high trajection and some spin.

The fairway runs really nice, I just love that.

The bunkers are in great conditions and the teeing grounds are all nice, even and are well groomed.

I just love all three of these courses without any trees nor homes. It gives you a great option to shape your shot, cut corners or just plain target a landing area.

Played 9am on 2/23. Course is in great condition. Tee boxes are next to perfect. Fairways are next to perfect, firm, and rolling quite a bit. Rough is maybe 1" and still gives great lies. Waste areas with tiny pebbles can be tough and tough on your clubs - so be careful. Sand traps were near perfect with plenty of sand and quite soft. Greens had almost no ball mark damage, were firm, and rolling fast and almost always true. Tough Pete Dye greens. Played the front 9 in moderate 1-2 club wind. By the turn though, the wind kicked up and was almost unplayable. The kind that knocks hats off and makes your ball oscillate on the green, just about ready to blow it off. Playing, at times, 4-4+ club difference. Made the back 9 harder to enjoy because it didn't feel like you were making shots anymore, just fighting everything. I'll definitely return to try the Snow and Sun, hopefully without the wind.

My first time playing the Wolf Pauite last week based on the high ratings. I’ve played the Sun and Snow many times and think they are stellar but the layout on the Wolf tops them. Glad I finally paid extra to play Wolf. Very cold and windy day but enjoyable none-the-less. For it being winter the course was in super condition. Lush fairways and rough, fast/very firm/mostly smooth greens, tee boxes lush. The back nine is instantly one of my favorites. Not one let down hole. The island hole was very intimidating. Great Course.

Have played several courses in the Las Vegas area and this is hands down the best one I have played yet. Great layout, perfect playing conditions, not a house in sight. You don't often find public courses where you can see a defined collar, fringe, and rough area around the greens. Same with the fairway and tee boxes, absolutely perfect. I will be visiting this course again.

Played here Wed afternoon, 7/10/12, as a single. Booked tee-time via GolfNow.com & got a rate of $37 for a 3:04pm tee-time. Temp was 111. But winds were relatively calm @ approx 8-10mph. For those that are familiar w/this course, that wind condition is pretty good.

Pace of Play – 4.00 stars. Teed off from the BLACK tees @ approx 3:15pm (skipped range session, but took time to drench self in ice cold water b4 starting). Walked off #18 @ exactly 6pm. Under 3 hrs was absolutely excellent!!! Of course, I was by myself with absolutely nobody ahead or behind me. Played 2 balls entire 18. Pretty sure heat kept everyone away.

Tee Boxes – 4.00 stars. B4 I continue w/this review, let me say that I can count on 1 hand my “country club” experiences. That said, this place is on that level, IMO. EXCELLENT tee-boxes that were completely level & lush w/hardly any “significant” divot damage.

Fairways/Rough – 4.00 stars. WOW!!! Well manicured & extremely lush fairways. It was like hitting off of carpet. Rough cut to approx 1.5-1.75 inches, but very, VERY lush. ZERO brown-spots to report anywhere. Absolutely amazing, considering this place is in the middle of the desert & just bakes in heat.

Bunkers – 4.00 stars. Luckily, only found greenside bunkers twice. It was like hitting from a desolate beach in Maui. Pure powder.

Greens – 3.75 stars. Just shy of excellent. Beautiful in color & not really marked up at all. Typical w/Vegas courses, played fast and firm. Shots into the green wouldn’t hold & would just roll. I adjusted quickly and played to hit the fringe & just let the ball roll.

Challenge – 3.50 stars. The course is fairly wide open for being a desert style course. You really need to have a bad push or pull to be in the rocks & unplayable, IMO. Challenge definitely comes w/length. I went from black and total yds = 7,009. And when hitting into the wind, it makes it longer. And as stated in “Greens” section, iron/wedge shots wouldn’t hold. Thus, would club down to hit front & let ball roll. #15 = my favorite b/c its their replica of TPC Sawgrass Island Green.

Amenities – 3.25 stars. Excellent pro-shop. Excellent GRASS driving range. Bag drop very friendly and helpful. Plentiful water stations. The knocks I have = no gps on carts and didn’t see a cart person at all. And snack shop at the turn was closed. Maybe b/c it’s a weekday & later afternoon they shut these particulars down. But gps would be nice & @ least 1 pass on each side by a cart person.

Overall experience – 3.75 stars. My absolute favorite course for the Vegas area = Coyote Springs. Tied for 2nd would be this place & TPC LV. I have yet to play Rio Secco or Cascata. Until then, Paiute sets the bar pretty high IMO. If you only have 1 round to play in Vegas, this place NEEDS to be HIGHLY CONSIDERED!!!

I will keep this short, Played on June 30, 2012. Unbelievable course. Great conditions from tee to green. Greens were medium speed and very smooth. Fairways were cut short and dark green with stripes. The par 3s are a great collection of holes. Very difficult lay out, play the right tees and it will be fun. Watch out for the wind!

Pros- This golf course is almost perfect tee to green. Wonderful conditions, greens are great, tees are nice, sand was a little empty in spots... Cart girl was awesome!
Cons- We only played the front 9 because it took 3 hrs and change to play. The guy in front of us when asked what his tee time was responded with "drunk". He drove back into the fairway from the green and picked up my drive 2 times. Played stupidly slow, marshal did nothing. We only played 9 and asked to be moved to the Sun course after 9. Customer service was not a high rating because they really blew us up with the pace of play.
Overall, I will come back. Wind was not as bad as expected but the course is ridiculous.

Finally finding time to write this review…normally I post sooner.

I want to thank everyone that came out to support our GK Plays Pauite on 5/25. Good times on a WINDY day. Thankfully the excellent playing conditions on this very enjoyable layout with great company nullified the challenge of the wind. Wind gusts were getting up the 50mph!

I found the golf course to be in excellent condition. Greens running smooth, fast and holding shots well for a desert course. Fairways were green, lush and well groomed. Rough was only an inch or so high, not much of penalty for going in it, lush and well groomed. Sand traps featured two varieties (greenside/fairway & waste bunkers). I found both types of sand a few times. The greenside/fairway bunkers were well groomed and contained firm sand and the waste bunkers were also well maintained but contained very coarse sort-off gravel like sand. The tee boxes were level, cut tight and lush. The whole course was in super shape! Pace Of Play around 4hrs teeing off on a Friday morning.

The service at Paiute was exceptional. From the moment you drop your bag off until you pick it up. Everyone is very friendly and professional. We saw the cart girl many times as well.

To me a LV Paiute experience is not a Paiute experience unless you have lunch or breakfast in the huge beautiful clubhouse. The dining area overlooks the 10th tee and 18th green of the Snow Mountain – stunning view. The food is excellent as is the service.

Las Vegas Pauite is located just north of Vegas about 25 minutes from the Strip. What I love most about this course is the seclusion and ambiance of location. It's just you, 3 fantastic courses, stunning clubhouse and the high desert. Pure Golf.
