Played Sunday at noon. Another 2some joined us, pace of play was pretty good. 2 hours on the front 2 1/2 on the back. These greens are fabulous and every time I was on them I forgot how bad the fairways were. These greens are running quick but very true, if you got the ball on line it was staying there. Now they need to work on the rest of the course, because the conditions on the fairways and in the rough was poor. Sand was inconsistent as far as texture goes with very little sand in the bottom which makes it difficult from a 6' deep green side bunker. Like I said the greens made all the other course issues minor in comparison. GolfNow $30, was well worth it.

Played Saturday morning, third group off played in under 4 hours. Fairways are getting a little work done two them, but are above average. Rough is dormant, greens in good shape, above the hole you are inviting a 3 putt. Tee boxes were average to good. Bunkers were fair, i was in 2 and there was different sand in them. Great layout always a challenge, enjoy this course.

Good- Customer service was above average.
Bunkers were good for the most part. Firm with consistent sand, some small rocks.
BAD- Have played here since 2005 and the fairways are worse than I have ever seen them. So many holes or pits between grass patches and 15 square yard areas of dirt and crab grass, No thanks. Greens were inconsistent with sand on a lot of them. Waste and sand bunkers with standing water in them. Better lie's in the rough than in the fairway. Pace of play was a joke, over 5 hours had 8 carts at the 11th tee box at one point, unacceptable.

Played Monday January 2nd. Second off so round was at a good pace, less than 4 hours. Greens were a bit bumpy, Fairways were a nice mixture of brown and green sod, good lie's for the most part. Rough is not difficult right now, be more worried about the abundance of trees in your way if your in the deeper stuff. Tee boxes were average, more than half are not level starting with the first tee. Sand was very good, fluffy, consistent from one to the next and none of those little rocks we all love so much. Overall for $34 dollars with good customer service, a very playable golf course and a sub 4 hour round, I would go back.

Played Friday, Had a 12:30 time although we went off at 1pm due to overcrowded course with 5somes followed by walking 4somes. Difficult to believe that the golf course would allow this on a holiday weekend. Stopped after 9 holes and went over to Butterfield side to play the front over there. As we drove by the first tee of chino creek there was a three group back up at 3:30!! Nobody on the butterfield side. The golf course has to do a better job of managing the flow of play to even them out.

So I made a mistake, I admit it. My 3some went over to Butterfield with out checking with the pro shop. However that does not mean that the pro shop sends someone out
rude to let you know that you need to let the pro shop know before you flop courses. Then to be followed like your a criminal is crazy. When we got to the 8th hole the guy pulls up and reminds us that we have 2 holes left. It was getting so dark I dint know if we would have that. Left a bad taste in my mouth though and I play here quite a bit. Usually every one is very kind here, I think they had a problem with the crowd today. Always worth the EZlinks price though $14.80.

Had a 7am with some buddies on Friday morning. Was pleasantly surprised getting there and having no wind, was expecting 25 mph. Pro shop and Marshall were very courteous and helpful, Cart girl great. Played a fun money game with friends that made the experience great.
Now for the BAD. All lie's are uneven on this course and thin due to lack of sod on the fairways. If fairways are sloped left to right and you hit it down the left side you will roll all the way to the right rough, in most cases this is fine but on some holes there are OB stakes right where the rough starts.(REALLY). If you did not roll into a OB area you would however roll into a 30 foot tree that has fallen or a huge branch of a tree that is laying on the ground.(RIDICULOUS). Some OB's were marked by X's on trees which was consistent. It was the White posts that were mixed with in the yardage posts which were confusing. On some holes they were painted on some they were not. I was not in the sand however my playing partners said it was fairly poor conditions, meaning inconsistent, could see a tarp underneath where the sand was so thin. Greens were pretty good a little bumpy. Lots of 3 putts.

Good course to play if you want to be frustrated at affordable pricing.

Played On a Sunday 11am. Thought it was going to be slow but it was a real good pace of play for a Sunday, 4 1/2 hours. Saw the Marshall 10 times, seemed to find a course where the Marshall actually does a job. Greens were really good, when they cut these they are going to be awful quick. Fairways were brown in places but good lie's. Sand in the bunkers was fabulous. Real good layout here and is a good option in the OC for the Golfnow specials.

Played Sunday. 12:30 tee time, although did not go off till 1:00. Had a tournament go off late. Sunday Tournament? Unbelievable, I have never come across a Sunday Tourney in OC the busiest day of golf. Should of had a marshall pushing play if this was the case. We would of finished had we had not gone off late. Greens were real good rolling but not consistent with breaks. Sand was thin at bottom of bunkers, fairways were exactly that(fair). Rough was okay, tee boxes were a bit beat up. Not for $65, no way!

Played Sunday at 10:30. Weather perfect, warm and sunny, mild breeze. Greens should be real good in a few weeks. Need to work on the tee boxes. Bunkers were okay except some had 1/2" rocks blended in with them. Fairways were mediocre, definitely some bad lie's out there. The online specials make it worth the money. They also have a card for $90 you can buy, good for 4 rounds.

Played Monarch Sunday Morning, great weather except for last 2 holes. Marine layer moved in and visibility went away. Greens were nice, Sand is perfect, the customer service here is well above the competition. Only Issue was the fairways are not where they need to be but will be nice in a month. Challenging layout and fun to play even if you have 20 putts on the front as I did. If you have not played here before and require a warm up on a driving range, beware only nets here to hit into.

Played on Friday the 19th, very slow play, course is not in very good condition. Alot of bare spots to avoid. The one good thing is the customer service.
