Course in pretty good shape, greens were good medium fast. fairways were a bit shaggy, no roll, but not a problem as course is short. Rough is unkept and very erratic and very deep in spots as my 9 on #2 will attest, but hey don't hit it there!! Overall very fun layout and at $45 on a Sat morning great deal!!

Tremendous golf course, In great shape for summer in P.S. Greens suprisingly fast and smooth, fairways very plush. Course is beautifully landscaped as a desert course, but does not play as one. No forced carries, waste areas around greens ect. Big wide fairways have small stategically placed bunkers everywhere, enough to make you think. Course is fairly easy, but huge greens that are angled and narrow with plenty of contour, and the fact that you cannot see the surface on most approach shots, is how this course defends itself. Pleasure to play even tho it was 113 yesterday, when all is finished out here this course will most likely be out of most players price range, So play while you can.

Have not played here in years, mostly due to the fact I'm bored with this course, used to play here alot, and shabby conditions. found course to be much improved in many areas, mostly fairway conditions are improved dramatically, however greens still suck!! Bentgrass has not improved the previous Poa conditions, as greens are pitfully slow, bad greens for 10+years you think they would fire that dude!! but as I understand it he's family. Tight course, lots of elevation changes, windy afternoon conditions, do provide a rather good challenge even with the shortness of course. Will play again for free, but my $ will go to a more interesting course.

First time here, played twilight at 1:15, $40 good deal. Course is a spectacular set up, Elevation changes, ravines, lots of wildlife-ran over a rattler!! Big greens with lots of slope, they don't look pretty but putt very nice. Unfortunatly thats the whole scope of this course, don't get me wrong the views are amazing, but lots of bare spots in rough, fairways, make it not look pretty, but all play nice. Bunkers are a disaster tho, some hard some soft some full of weeds. And what's up with the tee boxes, very uneven, kinda Crusty Verde ish. Overall for twilight I'll be back but there is no way I would drop the hundy for a weekend round!!! Highligh of the day, group of you know who wouldn't let me play thru on #5, after patiently waiting over 10 min, i scorched a 5 wood from 245 onto the green and into leg of player right next to hole, Ahh the gratification.

Although I prefer the Lakes course I give the Desert a roll every now and then. No dissapointment here, course plays like a typical desert course, target golf. Some very narrow holes, and some wide open holes and plenty of desert shrubbery everywhere. course plays hard and fast, 3 iron off the tee is a good bet on many a hole out here, as a nice burner will travel in the 230 240 range, and keep you out of the shrubbery! One in our group hit driver on every tee, and was on a nature expedition all day, by the back nine his legs were cut up and bleeding in multiple spots!!! Greens have a bail out area on just about every hole, which I think makes this couse play a little easier than the lakes. Super fast Greens.

Ruffles have ridges, the fairways looked like a potato chip!!! Guess they had a dull blade on the mower, didn't affect play at all, as fairways were lush, just looked very funny. Greens were very bumpy and damp, they held any shot. Practice green was smooth and quick{freshley mown}, greens on course were not as nice, the Poa was budded out at 8:00 am. They obviously did not mow, and the cups were caved in. This I find no excuse for on a weekend, as you do pay prime rate, but then again for $45 prime, you get what you pay for!! Still a good deal!! I enjoy the traditional layout.

Unspoiled golf, everything is great, Aerated a week ago you could hardly tell. Maybe the only thing would be course played a litte slower compared to the hard and fast PGA style it normally does. Usually you play the slopes and reel them in, today they stayed. Wind kicked up on the back, making all the 440 yd par 4's play into the wind, kicked our A-- Good thing the par 5's were downwind, as birdies abounded. Get out there and play, totally enjoyable!

Played on a Sat 2 wks ago, course booked us on Fri. instead of Sat. Manager was super accomodating letting us play the back nine{which used to be the front} and then worked us in to the front. Manager then came and discussed some of the changes to the course w/ us in the grill after our round. Super dude! Now the changes, course used to get its teeth from narrow tree lined fairways, they have opened it up somewhat, but what was opened up was filled in w/ huge bunkers everywhere!!! I'm talking alot of bunkers!!! Sand is bright white and stunning giving course a different look. Also it is tour quality, a pleasure to play out of, which I had the chance to do many times, you can't avoid it! Course was also a bit longer than before, a little yardage was added. All the water features have been sculpted w/ rock and waterfalls, Tee boxes laser leveled, and a few new greens have been added, they are bent grass as the manager told us they expect the Poa to take over soon. As for the greens they are smooth and fast, no play for 6 months has left them in virgin condition, like pool tables!!! They still have some work to do to finish their project, but it's just going to get better! They made my favorite place to play even better!!! Great job guys!!!

Course is a long way from past conditioning, Tee boxes very chewed up, green are bumpy, you would think they could cut new holes on a Sat morning prime time, fairways are good with a few holes showing major bare spots. Teed off at 8:48 behind a Womens club tourney with a fivesome bringing up the rear, needless to say didn't hit tee shot on #2 until 9:20!! Golf shop let us go to back nine which was nice and still managed to finish in around 5 hrs. Fun place to play but better can be found for the green fees!! Should get Donovan Bros. back as they always kept the place immaculate. You will not like course if you don't tee it straight. Water on right, houses very close on left, (my shot).

played Mon. 12/26 when making tee time I was told there is no longer any hard pan and the greens were rolling smooth. Well they raked the dirt errr rough and now I guess it's soft pan! and if you call putting on a adolecents acne/poc marked grill smooth, so be it. I have not played here in year due to these conditions, the only thing that has changed besides the name, is the green fee went up $18 bucks! hard to believe but Quail ranch is in better shape, I shall not return.

golf course in very good shape, only drawback would be the greens, front nine are full of ball marks and a few were punched, back nine was much better. Greens here have a lot of odd breaks, due to the foothills to the north and require alot of study, ball marks don't help. housing development takes away from the natural beauty this course once had, but that's golf in So. Cal. still a good track not overly long but plenty of hazards to keep it challenging. When cottonwood trees mature in 5-10 years watch out! Great pace of play, definetly worth the trip

the general is in generally fair condition, greens are on the slow side, but are lush. It looks as if the doom of many golf courses in so cal is setting in here also"ball marks" are becoming a problem here too, too bad! fairways are a bit shaggy with many a bare spot to be found. the rough and fringe areas are patchy at best, and the tee boxes are crappy at best, and I like this course! still worth the low green fee though.
