Played in the GK Book outing. Interesting layout with back to back par 5's to start. Conditions were great with great lies in the fairways, level tee boxes and smooth greens. Fun collection of par 5's and 4's, dog legs, protected greens and elevation changes. Par 3's are uphill and long, close to 200 yrds from the whites and felt the same. Best Par 3 was 17, downhill with a green protected by water front left. Overall great day with the GK crew.

Played on a Saturday with a large group. Pace was slow but you know that going in on any LA muni. The condition of this course was surprisingly much better than expected. Greens were smooth and fairways were somewhat lush and nice to play from. Only in one bunker but there was plenty of sand. Staff was helpful and great to deal with. The layout is fun with lots of variety. Overall is a good experience and will look to go back. Its a par 71 but plays allot like an executive.

Played Sunday 2/9 at 12pm with GK coupon and a group of 8 all sharing the coupon. What a treat and a great deal thanks to GK. Conditions are fantastic and similar to the well documented Lakes course. Greens run a little bit slower than the Lakes course but surfaces are just as true. After having played the Lakes course 2 days earlier, these greens are little bit flatter and easier to put on but they are still present every bit the challenge. The layout is fantastic and gives some different looks than the Lakes, amazing to have 36 holes in the same facility that stand up individually and are fun to play. Finished the round and we all made another tee time for next week, cant wait.

Played the Goose 1/26 Sun @ Twilight. Course is in outstanding winter condition. Fairways are lush but hard and dry. Great to play from as compared to other courses this time of year. Greens are outstanding, medium to fast with true surfaces. Plenty of break when putts slowdown. Staff is outstanding here with an attitude of gratitude. They make you feel welcome and you get the feeling they are happy to be there. They know what they have and give you the feeling that they are proud to offer it to you. Top notch practice facility, wish i lived closer. This is probably my 4th time playing the Goose and I do like the layout but the only possible criticism I can come up with is a few times during the round when you step up to the tee, there is a feeling that you already played that hole. Some holes have the same look to them but its nitpicking as its a fun satisfying round overall.

Played on a Thursday. Golf Now time at $16 with cart. About the price of a bucket of balls and an outstanding value at that price. This course is in typical winter muni conditions. Dormant fairways but playable. Greens are somewhat decent but noticeable unrepaired ball marks. Live close to this course and i have always enjoyed the layout, lots of interesting holes with elevation changes, well protected greens and generous fairways. Mostly par 3's but you will use all clubs in the bag as they range from 75yrds to 210yrds. Best executive course around and you will play in under 3 hours during the week, when busy its about 4 hours. Played recently on a weekend via a back 9 GN special for $13. played multiple balls, vary few people at this time in the morning as i had the place to myself. Great practice time. I am so glad i live close to this course and will continue to play often. you can get value out of this course, just dont pay full rate on a weekend in the middle of the day as you will disappointed.

Played with other GK'ers on Friday 12/23 in the GK Coupon Plays. Awesome day, great weather and company. The course is in fantastic shape tee to green. Fairways are brown and dormant but are great to hit from. You can tell that River Ridge is well maintained and will only get better next year. I look forward to playing here often next year. The only complaint and its a matter of opinion as others will probably disagree, is the speed of the greens. These greens are so fast and sloped that it kinda feels like putting on top of a Volkswagen. Several balls were putted of the green and 8+ foot second putts are common. I appreciate the challenge but maybe matching the speed with the slope would be appropriate in some cases. Hole 15 was ridiculous anything left of the pin was gone but it was comical and good for a laugh if that was the intent.

Part 1 of a 2 part weekend some other GK'ers enjoying some free golf thanks to GK outing raffles. Visually the conditions were a little bit rough with signs of repairs from recent damage but the course played well. Greens were fast and true and putted well. Understandable that fairways and tees were a little bit spotty with new sod and were fine to play from. The layout is great with everything right in front of you but still presented some challenge. Visually this course makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with no houses or roads around just expansive views of the desert landscape. Loved that aspect of the course and really enjoyed the playability of the layout.

Played 11/18 with other GK'rs thanks to GK and some free 2somes. The course was is great shape tee to green. Fairways were great to play from green and lush. The rough was really thick and hard to get a club on the ball when sitting down. Greens were perfect with a true roll and very consistent. The layout is very non forgiving with many blind shots and uneven lies but overall presents some great challenges and very enjoyable.

Played Sat 10/26 with our LA/Gk Golf Group. Course was in typical good condition for Rustic. Greens were very difficult to putt on. 2 foot putts had us all second guessing, there were no gimme's out there today. There's allot of golf options out there and once you reach the $75 green/cart fees. I have certain expectations and Rustic has always delivered for me in the past. Not so sure anymore, 5 hour plus round and other than the fun/challenging green complexes Rustic is starting to feel like an average experience.

Special thanks to Johnny for coming out to support us and drop off some GK swag. Very cool start to the round and everyone really appreciated the goodies.

Played Saturday in our LA Golf Group League. We were a total of 15 players and treated great by the staff in making the tee times and getting us all out on time. There were a couple of other large groups in front of us and were told it may be a bit slow up front. Pace and conditions were just as other have already stated. Good but nothing note worthy, its been better in the past. The thing that stuck out was how much fun this layout is, no 2 holes similar and all present different challenges. One of my favorites and I cant wait to play again next year. We will be back..

Played in the GK event. What a great experience playing at Monarch Dunes with GK. The course is fun never disappoints. The greens were fast and running true, fairways and tee boxes are great to play from. Lots of interesting holes with tons of variety. Always a good time with the GK group and an added bonus playing one of my favorite courses. Cant wait till next year.

Played Sunday 7/8. Played all 3 nines. Moorpark never disappoints. Conditions were top notch as expected. Fairways are lush with good lies, rough is lush, thick and hard to get the ball out of. The greens were lightning fast with putts that break like crazy and do not stop. 4 foot putts can leave you 10 feet past the hole if not careful. Tentative 4 foot putts can at times break 4 feet away from the cup on you. Great layout, no 2 holes the same. We played late afternoon with the greens showing the signs of a bust day with spike marks and bumps everywhere. If possible play early to get that fresh cut and role of the greens. Cant wait to play again.
