We play Seven Hills in Hemet about once a month...always a fun day as course plays much shorter then numbers on score card, the small greens help make it so, as almost every green you hit is a chance for a birdie putt. Conditions are as good as any course with the price they charge...we paid $35 today (Thursday). Fairways have old Bermuda grass still thick enough in most fairways to give you a good lie...rough is not to thick and sand bunkers are OK, some even very good. Three pars are short enough (150 most) to hit with a 9, 7 iron....par 5's long enough if your drive isn't over 250 no chance to hit in 2. For a beat up old public course this one has just enough caricature to make it fun and for many a low score for a change.....

Told over a hour frost delay on Legends as we signed for cart, 5 minutes later Marshal came up to us and said he had a empty tee box the last 20 minutes on the Legends...so off we went for a 3 and half hour round.....course in fair shape as always, forget bunkers besides half filled with rain water they are mostly compacted and hard, good for fairway bunkers but a waste of time around greens best to just pick ball with flop shot for sure. Greens were medium speed and fairly true, always play better when they are fast here. Fairway lies good for winter, could see they have put down fresh fertilizer so Bermuda grass should start greening up in a month or so. Lucky we had little wind, something you have to contend with a lot here....some tee box's still not level ( a few years now)....overall we try and play here a few times a year as it is a good layout (Champions side not good for anyone over say a 17 handicap)

Now $60 during the week for seniors..because (I suspect) of wind greens were nice but a bit slow...fairways have enough mat of bermuda grass to have some good lies (no over seed in most areas) Rough OK but eyes on shots very important as some areas have a couple inches of long grass. Always a fun course with some very interesting holes, a little long as white tees go but not impossible. Best to hit high shots, if you can, into greens as being in a windy area they do not hold much. Pace of play was outstanding as there was very little play going on...they seem to get some group play here so maybe check that out when making a tee time...if not during the week there is very little play...

First time back at Indian Hills in three years....course is well worth fees....would say it has been kept up sense last time here and vary playable conditions..we teed off at 9am as a two sum and pulled out of the parking lot at 12:00 as only two four sums in front of us and BOTH kindly ask us to play thru. No driving range may be why their sister course down the hill (Jurupa Hills) gets way more play...a par 70 with some very fun up hill and down hill (way down hill) holes...Number 9 is the bear...437 from white tees with a large pond about 180 yards right in front of tees, hitting left of pond hole plays even longer. all in all well worth playing...

Had not played in two years...perfect example you get what you pay for...not in very good shape tee to green, in fact it is the first course we played in two years where being in the green side bunkers may have been best part of course....Plays a little long for white tees so driver is important...pace of play was just under 4 hours today, but according to people we played with 4 hours 15 min. is about normal during the week...grass in fairways is clumpy so we went ahead and bumped the ball...greens were also very bumpy but again guys we played with said rain was reason as putting is usually not to bad... not the best shape but fair price and still fun and long enough to challenge.....

Played Tuesday, what can you say Eagle Falls is in great shape all away around...from fantastic driving range to well cared for bunkers...for $100 about the best deal in the Desert this time of year....as for playing it, the guy/gals that can keep the ball in the fairway it is very fair track..rough is short and brown outlining green fairways this time of year. Wild off the tee this is not the place for that as balls hit to far off line are basically gone. We love this place and the slot machines in the Casino make the after play hours fun too. I talk to a lot of players that play out in the Desert and so many miss this one, Terra a Logo is right up the street and cost about the same but cannot compare, but it seems everyone has played there but just drive past Fantisy Springs Casino without knowing Eagle Falls is right there on the other side of the Hotel........

Played Shandin Hills today, been about a year sense last try....greens are OK and fairly quick, neat fine dirt in bunkers, getting out maybe the easiest I ever played and I was in 4 green side bunkers today. Fairways are very, very thin and a lot of plain dirt in places so lies are tight which for me meant 7 and 9 woods were better choice over 4 and 5 irons. Chipping around greens is not very good either as lots of bare spots between clumps of grass....BUT $31 at 11:30 with free sodas and a hot dog or sandwich for seniors makes up for a lot of course negatives and it is a full 6,200 yards from white tees...so worth the money....this was Thursday and we played Eagle Falls in Indio on Tuesday so we went from class to what ever....

Played Wild Horse Golf Club in Las Vegas 12/24, I had played there back around 2001 and place was mess, Can not believe they had the course re-done...it is like an up-scale Country Club now. Par 70 with everything you need for a great round....if your like me and played there back when it was so so give it another try it is on par with our Palm Springs courses now.....it was a Christmas miracle..

Another last minute invite today 11/29...I was looking forward to this as it has been about 4 years since I got over to play Glen Ivy...END OF REVIEW, if you cannot say anything nice about the course, don't say any thing at all....Take your money and toss it in the can you will be happier...$25 would be too much for this course....

played Soboba Springs today, $55 senior rate....course is in very fine shape over seed is up and as green as any Desert course...only negative on whole course was everything was way too wet and the wet over seeded rough was very difficult to play out of...they need to dry out the rough and cut it down to speed up play....we played blue tees which are only 5,900 yards but the lack of roll took care of any advantage the shorter par 4's could provide...and for sure the wet high rough was not a help in scoring....

Wednesday, tip Senior Men's club tees off at 8 and there is always at least 60 players, so if your behind them it is 4.5 hour round for you (at least) The course is in the best shape it has been in the last 3 years...most of the greens are back....they are spot reseeding all over the course right now so you have to move the ball some out of the mulch....3 weeks should see more fairway coverage then ever, fingers crossed.....lots of reseeding around several greens also...they keep working on this course which is a plus for a public course in the inland empire...

Played El Rio outside of Bull Head Wednesday 10/20 best shape the place has been in last 4 years...grass in fairways and good (bit slow) greens..bunkers more dirt then sand as the course gets plenty of wind and cannot hold sand in bunkers...first time I would say the EL Rio was in better shape then Los Logos half mile away.....Drive out and play Laughlin casinos need your business....5 courses within 30 minutes of Casino Row....
