Early morning round on a cool winter morning, but at least there was not the gusty winds which were present yesterday. Check in as always was fast and efficient, staff is friendly and very accommodating. Taking advantage of the great senior rate makes this course one of better deals in Orange County.

Conditions are pretty much what I expected, and not a lot to add to the prior two reviews, except I found the greens a little quicker than I had anticipated. The usual "bare" areas which are becoming common to conserve water, but they really do not affect play. (Or shouldn't) Both bunkers I found were well raked and although they had sand, they were a bit firm.

Lots of fun holes on this course. Interesting, enough of a challenge to keep your interest without causing too much stress. (Providing you can keep your tee shots straight) The only hole on this course I really do not care for is #17. Other than being long and uphill, there is not much to like about it. Maybe because of those reasons and the fact I always seem to boogie it, just not a fan of the hole.

hadn't been out here in a number of years, for some reason i thought they sold the course and it went out of business but i guess it hadn't. course is hidden behind a shopping center on the side of a hill so it's one of those back and forth narrow-ish fairways kind of thing for the front 9. opens up a bit on the back but not much. westridge is in sort of muni type condition, yes there's mostly grass everywhere, but it's patchy and there's bare areas and unrepaired divots. tee boxes were serviceable, as were fairways. there wasn't really any distinction between fairway and rough, maybe 1/2" at max. got up and down out of 2 greenside bunkers so i guess they were okay, but maybe a bit thin on the sand. greens were in good condition, ran smooth, a lot of break on most putts. POP was 4 1/2, too long for me, waiting most shots. overall it was fine, i hope they don't sell it, nice to have another option.

Got the first time this AM. Maybe not such a good idea-LOL. Cold and foggy for the first 3 holes and sun finally came out on back 9 (but still foggy). Tee boxes were lush and playable (except # 7) all round. Fairways are thin at this time, but dry and with good roll (not the first 9, too damp) just have to know how to hit thin lies (practice makes perfect). No real areas of rough to deal with. But of course OB and water are present on many holes. No traps today but they all looked fine. Greens are really good. Chip/putt great with speed and don't be above the hole. Customer service was excellent at all levels. $40 with cart for senior rate. If you do not mind thin fairways, I recommend. And I wish you warmer weather.

Mid morning tee time at Westridge as a single. Check in was smooth and was informed that the course was wide open. Received a discounted rate due to rain the day before and it was CPO. Nice touch and let the ranger on the course know that CPO was a good choice for a very wet course.
Tee boxes were flat and lush. Fairways and rough were on the thin side and very wet, quite a few mud balls and thin lies. Sand traps were still soaked from the rain, crews were out draining and working to repair. Greens were in great shape and very lush. Greens were smooth and a little on the slow side. Quite a few unfixed divots which isn’t the courses fault just players who fail to repair them. POP was a little over three hours. Fun day and really enjoy the layout. With CPO you do get a little workout.

Joined a buddy and his two friends at Westridge. Have not played this course in over 7 years. As i approached the cart area, they were letting out two 5 somes ahead of us at 11:45 am. I dreaded that sight and knew we were in for a long day. You would never believe this, but we tee’d off at 12 pm and finished in 4 hrs 15 minutes. Un...believable. I was shocked. Sadly, POP was the only highlight of today. Greens were slow, running at 7.5/8. Fairways and rough was a mix of dirt, weeds, and grass. Sand traps were average and mostly unraked. Thank goodness your 1st beer after round at bar is $1. Next time, skipping golf and going straight to bar.

6:45am tee time, but we were advised that the ladies had a reverse shotgun starting at 8 o'clock beginning on #14, so we had to adjust our pace to insure we did not get caught up in their shotgun. Played slow enough to make it so we did not catch them until the last hole. Good timing ! Pace of play just under three hours. The staff was fantastic, allowing us the option of backing the back nine first, or even starting on #14. Very accommodating.

The greens were very good. Although we had several which were not mowed, they rolled well, but a bit too slow for my preference. Fairways are very thin in many areas. Rough was a mixed bag. Greenside bunkers had plenty of well raked sand.

I was advised they will be punching greens the first week of November.

First off this AM and played in 2.5H having the course to ourselves. And we took our time. Course is in very nice shape at the moment. With the cooler temps there is less watering providing dry fairways and good roll. You will find some thin areas on some of the fairways but we had good lies all round. Tee boxes were all good. Some rough outside of fairways that is thick and of course you have some OB rough, water and a few ravines to contend with. Traps were good and very playable. Greens were clean (all mowed as we played) devoid of divots, held shots and chipped/putted very well with good speed. Customer service excellent at all levels. Recommended.

Played Friday 9/20, 7am, 2 some, 4 hr round. Course in decent shape. Greens are in good shape... running about a slow 10 on the stimp. It's a challenging layout which demands accuracy, but if you hit good shots, you can score well. It's a nice daily fee course kept in muni shape... acceptable, and the price is right. Had a good time.

Inspired by Larry's recent review, plus the great senior rate and relative closeness to home, back out to Westridge. I've always enjoyed playing here because there are a nice mix of holes, some real birdie opportunities (Although I made only one) but also some tough holes.
I don't find the holes redundant, a nice variety coupled with the elevation changes

Conditions were pretty much what I expected after reading Larry's recent review. Greens rolled quicker than they looked, which is my preference. Fairways generally good, with a few issues, bunkers were well maintained with nice amount of sand.

Staff here is always friendly and accommodating. $40 w/cart to play anywhere in Orange County is a good deal. There frequently seems to be mixed reviews about this course, but I find it a fun, interesting course to play, which if you can keep your ball in play, does not beat you up yet provides enough of a a challenge to keep your interest.
