It's funny that I don't think about Westridge when I consider places to play. This is a fun track with many interesting holes, at $40 for seniors with cart, the price is right, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. My only complaint about playing here is running into back nine players.

Course conditions were about what I expected after reading 24hourgolf's recent review. Greens have healed, fairways were nice, most of the rough was OK, a few areas needing attention. Not in any bunkers but they looked fine.

I sure hope that this course remains open as it is affordable, interesting, and accessable

Played today. Early out and 3 H POP. While the previous review was not pleased with the greens, we found no issues. In fact, they all appeared just fine, since 3/18-19 punching. No one had any issues with chipping, putting and in many cases, they were speedy (hats off to the super). I would agree that the fairways could use more grass. You do get some good lies, but also some thin ones. But they roll out very well. They must have worked on the bunkers, because I heard no complaints and they all appeared fine. Tee boxes were all playable. Sr rate is $40 with cart and worth the price, IMO. Check in was smooth/fast and same with the starter. Very good customer service. If conditions improve, which I would think they would, we will be back.

Played 3/20/19 740a. Course was in ok shape. The greens had recently been punched and were a little bumpy. Some tee boxes weren't very level and it took some searching to find a level spot. Fairways were a mixed bag and depended on whether you were on a downhill or uphill lie. There were no hard pan areas for the most part. Rough virtually non-existent, maybe one or two inches different from the fairway. Bunkers inconsistent, but I think it was because of the rain packing the sand down. Greens will be a lot better in about two weeks. Unless you are a senior, make sure you try and book your tee time on their website, otherwise the rack rate is $50 weekdays...

Played on Tues 10/24. As was mentioned on other reviews the tee boxes wee not level, some with divots. The fairways were a combination of green, brown, and some thin spots. All the holes now have an environmental area 100 to 120 yds in front of them, it was not a problem in getting onto the fairways, the rough was tough to find ball at times, and difficult for me to get distance. The bunkers that we experienced were very shallow dirt with sand, the greens were OK but played slow, and some med fast.

The pro shop said the development attempt failed and are now gong to put money into it, I hope soon, but may be a year before our group comes back. Staff was friendly, cheerful, and shared our feeling about the conditions. I forgot they had switched the 9s, front is now back, had to adjust my GPS.

COME ON WESTRIDGE!!! I use to play here often but it has been a while (2 years) since returning on 10/22/18. I agree with Weber, there are many fun holes here but the lack of care for the course shows and that is why i stopped coming. I understand that things happen when management/ownership changes but this has gone on far too long. Come on get it together Westridge! How about leveling the tee boxes, cutting the fairway and rough to a consistent level where a player knows what he will get when he lands there. Hey the bunkers were nice and the greens were a little better than average but that is where it ends. This hilly course has always been difficult to get pristine conditions but in the past they have done a good job but now it appears they have given up......the best thing was the $35 rate given us with carts.

First off at 6:22am. A few other golfers there, but able to get out without issue. Sign in the pro shop indicated greens had been punched 9/24/18. Nothing said to me when I made my time on Saturday 9/28/18 ?? However, they actually rolled fairly well and showed minimal indication of the recent punching. I only had had cut greens on the front nine, which were slow. None were cut on the back side, so they were really slow ! They have large areas in some of the fairways which are now bare for apparent water conservation. While they do not affect play, they are unsightly. Otherwise the fairways were decent. Both bunkers I found had plenty of sand and were well maintained.

The only real criticism I have was with the tee boxes. They were a combination of not level, severe divots, bare areas, etc. Not good !

Staff was great. Friendly and accommodating. Always enjoy Westridge. There are a number of holes I just simply like playing. ( #3, #7, #10, #14, #16 ) Weather today was near perfect, and being crystal clear, the views were spectacular.

Played Westridge Golf Club in La Habra, Friday 8/24/2018, 1:30 pm tee time on a Underpar deal at $35 per player with cart. (Restrictions on deal were a tee time after 10am Mon-Friday).
Arrived early checked in at the pro shop. Staff was nice, but the attendant on duty was not familiar with Underpar or the deal being offered and tried to tell me we could only play the morning even though she confirmed we were scheduled for 1:30pm until corrected by her co-worker, who then showed her how the voucher worked. Fortunately, we got checked in, when downstairs and checked in with the starter (very nice) got our cart and headed for the driving range. Medium bucket 80 balls was $8 dollars (The underpar deal did not come with range balls).
The driving range is very attractive the hitting bays have very fashionable club holders, cup holder, and tent covered driving bays. There is a sign on one waring of low overheard which seems odd for a place where you are swinging a club. The mats were in good condition but both my buddy and I commented on how much they moved during the swing. The cool looking club stand had a open are that regularly allowed clubs to fall thought and scatter. Not a strong point. Practice green was small but representative.
We were sent out about ten minutes early with a note we might be joined by twosome either at the tee or as we played. The twosome showed up as we were teeing up and I am glad they did. Two guys who regularly play this course Tony and Glenn were among the nicest guys I have played with. My buddy is a single digit handicap so it was nice that both of these guys were completive with him. I had a tough day with a two-way miss.
The course is beautiful, located in the hills of La Habra not far form Beach Blvd, off of Imperial. It’s not as majestic as Black Gold, but I think I like it even better layout wise. The fairways are very narrow and slope hard to one side. There is little in the way of rough, errant shots are most likely to find native area that is protected both by rule, and rattle snake as a result, I donated about three sleeves of balls. Where there was rough it was deep and very penal.
Carts are basic, no GPS, clean functional.
The tee boxes were lush but could have been more level, and compact. There were some irregularities not quite holes, soft or very hard areas. The tee boxes aren’t terrible and aren’t too unlevel, just lumpy however given the overall condition of the course they are the noticeable let down.
Rough, most rough is around the green, and in thin strips along the fairway. If the ball stops in the rough it will require all your attention as it is thick and sticky, but given the slope of the fairways the ball is as likely to go out of bounds. This is not a course the rewards spray and pray.

The fairways are narrow and feature very good coverage of mostly green grass. If you control your ball find the fairway, don’t get an unlucky bounce you will still most likely find yourself with a uphill, sidehill, downhill, uneven lie. This course takes the contours of the hills its built on and challenges the golfer.
The narrow undulating fairways pockmarked with fairway bunkers seem to be the courses main defense. This is target golf.
Bunkers - The course features numerous fairway and greenside bunkers. The fairway bunkers are a fair test but deeper than many I have seen on other courses, and the greenside bunkers look like they were dug by marines defending the area. The use of Bunkers around some greens present almost a moat surrounding the putting surface. The bunkers look nice; however, most are hardpacked sand / dirt. If you get in a bunker you will need to have studied Gary Player and Lee Trevino’s techniques for getting out of hardpan bunkers, there are no explosion shots here.
The greens are beautiful, fast with more breaks than tv show. I loved the greens, if you holed a one putt on these greens of more than four feet you feel accomplished.
This course has a really nice playing layout, with majestic views of the surrounding community. The tee boxes need a little attention, the bunkers well hard packed are very playable. Pace of play is very good, we took around four hours. The course needs more water stations. The separation of the parking lot from the clubhouse, and the starters station do a good job of preventing you bringing a cooler of water, however there were only two water stations on the course (at least that we saw), there were two low output water fountains by the restrooms. The snack bar is such that you have to go off route to stop as you make the turn and with the pace of play we experienced on Friday that would have been a train wreck. There is no sign on course giving you a number to pre-order. We did not see a beverage cart on course at any time during the round.

Would I recommend this course, yes very much, and I would definitely play it again at this rate? It’s not easy, and I was physically sore for a couple of days after playing. The course overall is in good shape, and well worth testing your game against.

Soon realized why; teebox seemed abandoned, fairway needs maintenance and green's grass was overgrown. Overall, this course doesn't deserve 1 star.
This course used to be in top-shape and packed with golfers.
Unless there isn't any turn of an event, I would waste time and money on this course.
Very disappointing.

I dont know what happened between Eric's review and mine but this course was in terrible shape today. 820 tee time $60.

The Tee Boxes were absolutely horrible. Uneven and weeds growing everywhere. Fairways not much better with many types of grass and dirt and brown patches everywhere. Reminded me of Shorecliffs.

Sand and rough were not good either the rough was long and penal if in the Kikuyu otherwise it was dirt. Sand very inconsistent and un-raked (not the courses fault)

The only thing in good shape on this course are the greens although they were a bit shaggy they are very consistent and rolled true. A quick mow and i'd rate them a 9.

ProShop and starter were super friendly and we were told that we had nobody behind us for at least an hour. That turned out to be true but in front of us were the slowest 2 groups I have ever seen. No marshall to push them so we took our sweet time and probably played 21 holes after replaying a few holes to leave a gap on the 2 groups a head

I dont recommend for more than $20 right now
