Have not played here in about 4 yrs, one of my 4some does not like it, says it does not suit his game. The rest of us took advantage that he was not available so we played it today. Pleased at what we found. Clubhouse is still being remodeled June 1 possible opening. Customer service was outstanding, we were greeted with a smile, and we got out right on time. The course is lush with some thin spots but rolled nice. The tee boxes are fairly level with not many divots, the fairways rolled nice, the rough varied from 1-1.5 inches to 2-2.5 inches on some holes. Bunkers were mostly dirt and packed from the overnight mist.

The Greens were outstanding, lush rolled med-fast, held shots, were spongy in some spots form the mist and watering but were not overly watered. One of us left his lob wedge on a previous hole, a kid working on a bunker heard us and volunteered to go retrieve it, how's that for taking care of customers.

Senior rate walking was $22, pull cart rental $3, NICE! Hope to be back real soon. Round was just over 3.5 hrs, can't beat that with a stick.

5/3/2012 (and on 4/25/12) - This course is old, yes, but the challenge level is high, even if your drives are more than 200 yards, and your accuracy is spot on. No two holes are the same. Get in the treeline, and you're looking at a wall - just as it should be - with small openings here and there. Of the four par 3s, you must hit at least a 160 yard shot to 3 of them. The other (145 yards or so) is so well protected that it tests your ability for accuracy. The greens fee is unbelievably low for such a high quality, well maintained course. If you have a military ID, you qualify for a nice discount. A new clubhouse is under construction, scheduled for completion this month, so about all you can get right now are beverages. This is a gorgeous course. Though I must travel an hour one-way, I always look forward to playing this 50s course. One day, soon, I'll shoot below 100 (though it might only occur on the nearby military firing range).

Played sunday 2-26-2012. Course is in good condition, considering the weather. The Greens are nice, a little bumpy, but quick. No ball marks on the greens. Every green breaks towards the runway at March AFB located east of the course. Fairways are o.k., sand traps are rock hard (WHY?????) They are spending money to build a new clubhouse, use some to put sand in the "sand" traps. Tees are nice. You can really hit driver here a lot. Par 3 holes are tough. Wind can really blow here in the afternoon. Grass driving range and good chipping green. Worth the money.

I have played many rounds here and I still cannot figure out these greens. I had an awful time with speed and direction today. The nicer these greens are the tougher to read and get the pace. Yes, the greens today were in great shape. The rest of the course is only poor to fair in condition with the exception of the bunkers. They are in good shape. I am sure the fairways will improve as spring draws near. The donations I give of books and cd's to the troops via this course is a reason I make the drive to play here.

price is right...greens were great...sand traps inconsistent ..some sand ..some no sand...fairways were real bad...a lot of patches of grass and hard pan..they need to do something....round over 5 1/2 hours...way too many people playing...they need to spread out the tee times more...we waited on every shot...i have never had this problem before ..on a tues even.....if its that way again...will pass on playing there....

OK, this course isn't in perfect shape right now, but the people that run this place know exactly how to manage it.
The greens were punched *2-1/2 weeks ago and are probably 1 - 2 weeks away from being back to their normal 'very good'. The fairways are thin in different areas, but mostly very playable and the rough is showing some 'roughness' with mixes of of bumps, dips and crab grass. Still, the course is quite playable. Tee boxes were OK, but still had their usual rounded and inconsistent uneven lies. The bunkers are mostly dirt, but very playable and well-kept.
They have a great rate of $29 right now which includes green fees, cart, hot dog and soda. This is most probably because of the aeration. I wish other courses would offer incentives like GO.
GO is a good old-fashioned layout with a good mix of some very interesting holes (4, 13 & 15), so-so par 3's and plenty of length. Definitely worth the trip to play. Also, you are right next to Riverside National Cemetery and you hear a fair-share of 21 gun salutes. Another bonus is the view of all the military planes just after take-off from March AFB right across the freeway... very cool!

*When I called 2 weeks ago to set up tee times for our weekly group for the following week, the first thing Doug in the pro shop told me was they had just aerated and it would be better if we waited an extra week or two, -plus he told me about the $29 offer they had going on. First class service! (Are you reading this Paradise Knolls?)

The farways had lot of divots. But the price was right . You know what they say , you get what you pay for . I say POOR MAINTENANCE .

Played this morning 7/25 and course is in great shape. The greens were some of the smoothest and fast that I have encountered for awhile. They do one great job keeping this course nice. I will definitely be back. You can't find a better place to play for $25.

Played May 1 on a windy day. First time playing this course --- excellent value. Fairways had not been cut for a few days, but lies were ok. Pace of play was good. Will return.
