Those of you old enough to remember the old ad line "nobody doesn't like Sara Lee", well the same should apply to the Goose. How can you not like this place? The conditioning as always was spot on. (However I found the greenside bunkers to be devoid of sand - too compacted!) Otherwise the course was in fantastic condition.

Off as the third group and finished in under 3 1/2 hours, beating the heat! Greens were much faster than they looked, rolled very true. Fairways had some brown spots, but played just fine. Always enjoy my time at the Goose, just wish they would slow down the price increases

Played Saturday 6/27 with my wife. Club house service was excellent. Was supposed to have a 2some go out in front of us and we were to be paired with another couple. Well on the first tee the other couple joined the 2 some and my wife and I went out alone at 11.07. I must say that was the slowest round I have ever played at Goose Creek. On the 9th hole (par 3) we waited to allow this fast playing 2 some to play thru us. Little did we know the 9th hole was their last hole of the day, LOL but then we said well that took a good 12 to 15 minutes so maybe we got some separation from that slow group in front of us. RIGHT, we caught the on hole 12. Unfortunately by hole 14 it started to bother me and my wife had to calm me down. They were teeing off on 17 and we finished 16 when they said to us, "we would let you play through but there is a 4some in front and you won't get very far" I said that 4some is just leaving the 17th green you are a full hole behind, I said never mind we only have 2 holes left. Man this is one time I wish I would have seen a marshall and I know Goose really does not send them out. 4 hours and 45 minutes at Goose is just not acceptable. As far as the course, my wife and I love this layout, but I am betting that Goose had a tournament Friday because some of the greens were more dinged up than I have ever seen them here. One par 3 even had the remains of a circle around the hole. LOL Maybe the tournament was Saturday morning. Either way we really like it here and will be back.

Have you ever seen a negative review on Goose Creek? Well, the answer is probably, no. I couldn't imagine anyone not enjoying the layout of the course, the immaculate conditions of the course, or the top notch customer service. With that being said, I have never seen Goose in better shape than it is right now. Today, we had an afternoon time and we couldn't have asked for better conditions. The course was extremely green and lush, the fairways played fast, and the greens were as smooth as any public course I have ever played. The course superintendent and staff should be commended. If you haven't played Goose, you are missing out on one of Southern California's gems. Go play it now, you will not regret it!

Played Sunday May 24th, took my wife there for the first time. Course was in great shape as usual, Tee boxes, Fairways, Greens all great, Service was great as usual also. My wife really liked the course and had a great time. Now when I ask here where she wants to play, she says it will be there.

Besides the greens, the course was in nice shape. The greens had white caps all over them. This made for bumpy greens and inconsistent speed.Sevice was great.Have fun.

Played the Goose at 1140AM on Wednesday, 5/13/15, with GKer walnutgolf. Booked online on the course website for $50. Come to find out that senior discounts aren't available when you book online - you have to call the course to get that reduction. Good conditions as always - amazing how the Goose stays green and lush while other courses are dry and thin. Greens great, fairways had good lies, rough benign, tees level and good grass. Traps were a mix of thin/firm/damp and damp/plenty of sand. Easy check-in, starter was brief and to the point, we got off right on time, saw the cart girl several times. Overall POP was just over 4.5 hrs. Some greens on the back had been verticut with shallow cuts, but it didn't affect roll or speed. All greens had about a dozen or so old and new ballmarks. And the gnats are really bad, especially on the holes next to the river. If you are in a cart, keep your mouth closed while riding, or be ready to pick up small extraneous protein bits. Beware of the construction related to grading/building going on just west of the course. The main entry road on 68th Street is closed by the construction, and the detour takes you into small hick roads with poor or no signage, so allow time to get lost on the way to the course and out again.

Really don't have much to add to the last review posted here. Conditions were excellent as usual here. They seem to have added some new sand in the bunkers. In the past they have always been a bit thin but now there is pretty good sand.
Greens were quick and firm but held shots well. Not too many ball marks.
This is my favorite track in the inland empire. Great conditions-challenging layout and good value.

Played 5/9/10 (Sat @ 0744) under overcast conditions. As someone blessed with Scottish heritage, I can really appreciate a great golf course and a bargain. The Goose has both!

Played 5/9/10 (Sat @ 0744) under overcast conditions. As someone blessed with Scottish heritage, I can really appreciate a great golf course and a bargain. The Goose has both!

The only thing consistently holding the course back from real greatness is the inconsistent condition of their bunkers. Sometimes near hardpan, others just right. The rest of the course in in great shape from tee to green. The POP is almost always under 4 hours early Saturday. This is helped by very skilled rangers.

The rest of the staff is fantastic as well. Their friendliness and concern for your golfing experience is sincere. I started out walking, but got a back spasm at the turn and had to get on the cart of one of the guys in my group. I offered to pay the cart rental fee and they insisted on waiving it.

The 19th hole food is good, not great. You get an honest pour as well.
If you can get past Jimmy's rabid support of USC (hard for us Bruin fans :-) there is nothing holding this course back from being the Best Value in Southern Ca. Go play the Goose!
