At first glance, you could tell that conditions were dry. I assume that they are under a water restriction, although I didn't ask. Tees and greens were pretty nice. Rough was minimal and fairways were extremely fast and firm. Bunkers had plentiful sand and were in very good condition. The greens ran fast and true, make sure you factor in the "hill effect" - everything runs toward the I-15 freeway.

Service was excellent and we saw the cart girl 3 or 4 times during the round.

So, even though the course is very thirsty, it is still fully playable and was a lot of fun.

I try to play here at least once a year. Because I have experienced difficulty getting off first, I tend to shy away, but when I was told I had the first time off, and there were no "shot-guns, outings, etc, I figured I'd go for it. However when I arrived I was told that the men's club would shot-gun back from #14 at 8:00am. It was my plan to play super slow and maybe not run into them at all. Well when I got to # 10, there was foursome on the green and another foursome in the fairway. I asked what was going on and was told, "they went all the way back to #10) Long story short, took me over 2 1/2 hours to play the back nine, which was twice as long as it took to play the front even trying play slowly !!!! NOT HAPPY !

The greens were rock hard ! No chance to stop even a sand wedge ! They didn't look fast, but because they were so firm, they rolled out further than I thought. In all fairness, the course is in decent condition, but sitting in the cart waiting is just not "my cup of tea" Maybe I'm just spoiled ????

I had not played here in a couple years and I'm not quite sure what is happening with the course right now. It could be excellent, but it just isn't at the moment. Played Sunday 3/8 with a couple buddies on an Underpar coupon at 12:16. We noticed that a group of 8 people were loitering around the starter's box (who didn't seem all happy to be there) about 10 minutes before our tee time so our threesome ran over attempting to get out ahead of them. Nope. We were told that we would have to wait for the two groups to tee off. After all that we teed off 20 minutes late and finished 5 hours later and not a marshall in sight. Most of the course was in okay winter condition. Fairways were dormant-ish bermuda but gave solid lies for the most part and LOTS of roll. Rough was highly variable in term of thickness. Most was normal length rye but there were a few patches where a US Open broke out. Greens were firm and crusty but slower than they appeared. Rolled fairly well though apart from the many unfixed ballmarks. Tee boxes (Black) were good. Bunkers were rubbish. Footprints galore, extremely dry, silty sand that blew up in clouds when you raked them and they had finger to fist sized ROCKS in them. Really ridiculous. I also noticed that a handful of holes had cups that were not put in straight. That's just laziness and lack of care in my book. I had a good time with my buddies (especially after launching a few drives on #18) but the overall quality of the course is definitely deteriorating when compared to the first few times I played it. The underpar deal still made the round good value ($35) but I'd rather pay $15 more to see the course in better shape.

Played this morning. Usually try to play this course at least once a year during the winter months. A little to hot for summer. Course in decent shape. Some tight lies in several fairways. They probably don't put much water on it during the winter. Greens pretty hard and fast. Hard to get close to the hole from distance. Rough not too bad, pretty lush actually. Some traps better than others. Very enjoyable round. Staff is excellent. We were a twosome and had a rather slow foursome in front and the Marshall asked if we wanted to play through. We were in no hurry so we declined. Have you EVER had a Marshall say that to you?

Hey there fellow golfers. I played Glen Ivy today, Mon Feb 16. Well, I was surprised again. We started on time. The tee boxes were full of grass but a but too long for my taste. I like tee boxes to be tightly mowed. The fairways were in decent shape but no real separation between them and the rough. The greens were rolling ok with a few ball marks but I guess that's to be expected. Pace of play was so-so. I didn't see a marshall. Overall it's an enjoyable course with plenty of elevation and houses to hit. Houses aren't on every hole but are on the ones that require a good tee shot, Hmmm. The 18th is always fun because the tee box sets up on top of a mountain and looks down over the world. I usually hit 3 metal from the tips and end up close to the lake with a wedge in. It's a fun course. Enjoy.

I played Trilogy at Glen Ivy yesterday on President's Day Monday. This is one of my favorite layouts. It has lots of hills, but proper landing areas and not too many uneven lies to hit off of. Just a bit of billy goat walking up and down hills but not to much to be a chore.
The course was in decent shape, but slightly below what I am used to at this course. The tee boxes were a bit overgrown too long, which can catch you off guard through impact if you are not careful.
The fairways were fine, a bit thin in some areas, but nothing extreme. A few places seemed to be over watered as well.
Greens were a bit below par compared to normal conditions here, they were a bit bumpy which would throw your ball off line when putting.
The bunkers were OK, but like many courses, the sand compacts over time and you get a top layer that is soft and some immediate hard packed sand underneath. Yup, I sent a ball flying over the green as my SW bounced off the hard pack.
The service was OK, but the snack bar attendant was slow to serve me when I walked in and didn't speak to me or thank me for buying some items. Not rude, but not the best customer service.

This might be my lowest rating of this course, but still the layout is awesome, love the views and vistas, I would come back again and again!

Played here with a friend this morning (it was his first time) for the first time in over a year. We completed all eighteen in three and a half hours! I love the layout, great views and the wonderful smell of the citrus trees that run alongside the fairways. The course conditions were pretty good for the time of the year. The fairways were in good condition and the rough was very lush and dense. The greens looked good, but were very bumpy? Not sure why? Maybe they are in need of some type of maintenance? The ponds were low or almost empty - not sure if it's because of the low rainfall or something else? The staff is always friendly and pleasant. I would suggest everybody give the course a try at least once.

I played Glen Ivy 3 times this week. I was disappointed that the white tees were pushed back to the blue tee boxes on all three days as I usually play the white tees. The pro shop was short on balls for the range. I was told the large buckets of balls were not available due to a limited amount of range balls. I was handed an empty basket and told the guy on the driving range would fill it. When I got up to the range I had to wait 20 minutes for the guy driving the tractor collecting range balls to get up to the tees (mats only) to fill my empty basket. On 1 of the rounds, my round took 5.5 hours. This was surprising as I hadn't had these problems with Glen Ivy in the past. Disappointed to see the water hazard water levels so low on a couple of holes.

Played sat 10/18. It was weekend before maintenance. So, the condition was not good. Greens were decent, held shots pretty well. But people do not fix their ball marks here. What a shame. I saw bunch of ball marks repaired incorrectly which actually made them worse. They are overseeding back tees, black and blue tees. But the proshop never mentioned it to us. We found out when we went out to the first tee and noticed there were only white tee and front tee. Some sands were okay but thin. 18th hole fairway bunker had tons of rocks - and I mean real good size rocks, half-inch rocks! POP is horrendous at 5.5 hrs or more on Saturdays, basically had to wait on every shot. This was my second time in recent months and both times were 5.5 hrs. So I guess that's the norm here at Glen Ivy. Did not see any beverage cart during the whole round. Probably won't be back unless I hear POP and service have gotten better.
