Played course on Monday 6/8 at 3PM. Santa Ana winds were up making things a bit more challenging than usual - course was pretty empty with a lot of open holes out there. Greens were a bit slower than normal but pretty smooth otherwise. Rough was mostly playable but still had a few spots where it was pretty deep. Chino course is a great traditional design which makes you use a lot of clubs and lets you hit an offline shot every now and then that you can find (as opposed to a number of the newer IE courses that have "environmentally sensitive" areas that you can't play from). Overall a nice place for a relaxing round. One other note: driving range is now open.

Another early tee time, 6:40. Front 9 was overcast and the sun was out for the back nine. Typical CV19 protocol, staff at the gate to verify times. Then check in and head to the tee box within the 15 minute window.

Tee boxes were good, no problem finding a spot to hit from. Fairways were pretty good. Didnt have a bad lie today. The front 9 was soaked from watering so no roll out. Greens were good although a little slow from what I remember. I wasnt in any bunkers so no comment, but from what I could see very little to no sand in most. On course facilities were open. No cart service. POP was less than 4 hours which was outstanding.

Played at 4 hr 15 min round at El Prado Chino Creek on 5/1 with start time at 3pm. Greens were slow and a bit bumpy; fairways were decent; bunkers were hard and unkempt; rough (as others have reported) was very deep and difficult to play out of. Wind from the west kept the course very comfortable on a day that what supposed to be pretty hot. Kudos to El Prado staff for really embracing the concept of social distancing: line for starters window, location of carts, signage leading to the tees all emphasized proper distancing. Pro shop and snack bar/restaurant closed but water and gatorade were available from starter. Nice job guys!

First off at 5:50am. Starter advised that both courses were sold out today, which perhaps explains why the starter was not particularly friendly. (IMO) $24 to walk, so at least they are not price gouging. Covid restrictions as expected. Inverted cups with flags, which is perfectly acceptable. Masks required. Greens were reasonably smooth, but very slow. Fairways had been cut, but are still thick, not allowing much run out. The rough is a whole different matter ! You see they have been cutting it, but it still "U.S.Open" lush in many areas, I must have found a dozen+ balls. Bunkers are thin, but well manicured. What I noticed most is the removal of almost all fairway bunkers. I don't remember when this was done, but it sure changes the aesthetics of the course. I suspect I know the reason, but the visual is so much less pleasing. In all fairness, the course was in decent condition. I would recommend playing here now because the positives outweigh the negatives.

Played yesterday. It seems that this Course is being neglected by Course Management. Greens are terrible, looks like they do NOT cut them in the mornings, very bumpy and way to soft. Fairways also looking bad. NO sand in most of the bunker. Management needs to wake up and start spending time on the condition of this Chino Side. Another thing. Amazon delivery Trucks are now parking on the Course lot taking up 1/3 of the lot. Now they are starting to bleed over to the main lot. This is NOT looking good.

Played the ole Chino Creek from the blues on 1/3 and then came back to play the whites on 1/5. I'm mentioning this because I have noticed that there are so many players here that jump on the blue tees and then spend the whole day slowing everyone down simply because of ability. Playing from the white tees improved my score and was much more enjoyable than hitting from the trees and not being able to reach the GIR. Anyway, with that said....

This course is always hit and miss. Many areas on the course were soaked and muddy. Lift clean and place was a must on almost every hole. Both sets of tees could use some work on the leveling and divots. The greens are the best part of the course with most of them in good shape holding approach shots. The rough is a little beat up and in many areas it's hard to find your ball. The staff is always friendly and the driving range is one of the few that still have grass instead of mats, which is a huge plus these days. I do like this course and will continue to come back and play it "from the white tees".

Played Fri dec 27th at 7am. Got there at 540 and had a good breakfast. We were a walking 4 some and got out on time. POP was 346 which was good. It was very cold 1st 4 holes until the sun got up, then a real nice walking day. The view of the snow on the mountains was fantastic. After the rain Thursday we expected a soggy course, well the front nine drained nice and it was a good walk, the back nine was a different story, very soggy and wet, the greens rolled real nice and were receptive maybe because of the rain the day before. I like this place, just a good friendly non stuffy place to play golf with good food.

Late review. I was actually there on the same date as Chevelle, so kind of surprised I did not see him? I enjoy coming to this course because the staff is very accommodating, allows me to get out early and the cost is reasonable.

As Chevelle states, if you're expecting "high end" don't come here, but if you are looking for basic golf at a decent price, El Prado will fill the bill. Agree with prior review that the fairways did not allow much roll out, in part due to weather and in part due to areas of the fairways needing mowing. I made a bunch of putts, so when that happens, you seem not to notice the bumpiness. Found two bunkers, both decent, but could have been better maintained.

Played Fri Nov 15th, had a 708 tee time, quick and friendly check in. Got there at 440 and coffee shop was open for a good breakfast. It was cool and damp, a little foggy so everything was wet. In my opinion tee boxes were level, fairways ok but next to no roll out, wasn't in any bunkers, and greens still had holes from being punched. The holes and the wetness made the greens very slow. We were a walking 4 some and POP was great at 333. I have walked this course in the heat and will say that it is an easier walk in cooler weather, we were not pushing it on the up hill 18th. For those that don't know, this is a course out on dairy pasture, so fairways will sometimes have gofer holes and it you get off the fairway it in not manicured. If you are looking for a country club atmosphere, go somewhere else, if you are looking to play a course with decent holes and a good price, this is a good option and the food is not bad. I still like this place, nice and relaxed and not stuffy.
