Played Fri aug 9th at 7:07. Check in very quick and friendly. Restaurant is small but has good food at a good price, we were a walking 4 some and POP was 3:55. I felt the course was it good shape, i could see a few spots that were over watered expecting the heat, but overall tee boxes and fairways very playable. Not in any traps so no opinion, greens were very rececptive and always had a ball mark to fix, they rolled very, very well. I like this course, it makes you think on a few holes, not just grab driver and swing away and not so long that you had a fairway wood into allot of par 4's. All the par 3's are a reasonable length. We play the whites which is the correct tees for us.

I have played these two courses so many times and it is hard to remember those days when I thought it was so hard to play these courses. Thankfully I have improved over the years so these courses are now a great place to practice and have some challenges. Course is what it is. We all wish there was a bunch of money that could be pumped into a place like this to reach its full potential. Our day was lovely, off at 609am to beat the heat. Tee boxes were in decent shape with only a few boxes that were not flat. Fairways are thin in spots and thick in some others, dont expect alot of roll as your ball will most likely catch the thicker grass. Rough is thin clay or real dense pasture grass. Greens were a bit slow but in good shape with most firm. Bunkers were a little wet since it was early morning but I only was in one for the day and had enough sand to push the ball up and out. Prado sent me a 20% off coupon good for all of August, so the price riding was well worth it. Besides playing with good pals really make it a good day regardless of score.

Looking for some more reasonably priced golf, so El Prado fits the bill.. Never have any problems getting out here as the staff is always accommodating and friendly.

Course was in better condition than expected, particularly the greens which were fairly quick, and receptive, and rolled well. Fairways for the most part were good, with some areas needing attention. Bunkers were not great - too thin ! Not much sand in them ! Rough was a mixed bag, from bare to thin, to thick, never knew what you were going to get. (Better off keeping it in the fairways, which are pretty generous)

As long as your expectations are not too high, this is a fine place to play. Well priced, easy to access, friendly staff, and just good solid traditional golf.

Had a 10:07 "Deal" time from TeeOff.com that was originally scheduled for my GK Cup match vs. apisarski. Unfortunately he injured himself and needed to bow out, but I decided to keep my time and play. I arrived early - around 9:15 - to find red signs on the pro shop door and front desk announcing "Pre-Paid Tee Times Cannot Start Before Their Time." So I checked in and they said they'd call me in about 20 minutes. Oddly, that whole time no one teed off on the Chino Creek course, while Butterfield Stage was packed with a tournament. The pro shop called me in as promised and paired me with two other singles, and still no one had teed off since I arrived. So we basically had the course to ourselves all day, we teed off about 20 minutes early, and then one of the guys decided to drop back after nine. So POP was incredible, finishing in 2:40! I only saw two other groups on Chino Creek the whole time we were playing, and we never waited on a shot until my approach shot to 18.

Conditions are decent overall. Greens are the highlight. They were very smooth (perhaps due to so few players ahead of us), medium speed and held full shots well. Fairways were decent/good except when they weren't, like when my ball ended up in some weeds in the 15th "fairway." The rough varies wildly from deep, thick stuff around some greens to rodent holes and hardpan in other areas. Definitely puts a premium on hitting the fairway. Tee boxes were mostly in good shape with lots of puffy kikuyu. I was in two bunkers, both of which had a thin layer of soft sand on top of compacted sand beneath. I learned my lesson in the first one and really struck down into the second one, which produced a much better result.

Overall the course looks a little rough around the edges, but plays pretty good and makes it hard to complain for $27 including cart today. Gotta love the prices from the beverage cart, too!

Decided to drive over to Prado and walk out as a single. Got to the course and it was pretty much empty. I am sure the heat had something to do with this as it was pretty warm. Got right out playing solo around 11:00 am. Caught up with a pretty slow 3 some at #9 tee and was able to play through them so pace of play was just about 3 hours.

Pretty much agree with Stickboy’s previous review. The course is in good shape. Although heavy kikuyu fairways, they were cut down so the lies were excellent. The rough was thick but playable. Going further through the rough though you’re on dried old weeds and hardpan not to mention large trees. Bunkers are really not very good. Not much sand in them, just hard dirt.

The greens are excellent however. Not fast and a little bumpy in spots but for the most part, they rolled very true.

I enjoy playing here even though the course is rough around the edges. I don’t expect a whole lot when I play here but I do get to play a course that has a nice layout and walking for $23 just ain’t bad! It is also challenging from the blues, playing at a about 6800 yards. Real nice folks in the clubhouse and in the snack shop as well. I am up for playing here again.

I teed off on a Thursday at about 8:30. Because I played with my friend Gus, who is EVEN OLDER THAN STICKBOY, we took a cart and played the white tees. I have always liked the layout of Chino Creek. The holes move in both directions, and the creek cuts across a few fairways to keep you awake.

Course conditions were pretty darn good. The tee boxes were acceptable. The fairways had solid coverage. The kikuyu rough was very thick in some spots. Neither of us were in a single bunker, but they looked a little light on sand, so enter at your own risk. The greens were terrific. Not real fast, but smooth and consistent, with very few unfixed ball marks. Pace of play was very good. We moseyed around in under four hours, and it could have been faster if we were in a hurry ... and it's like $20 to walk during the week. Highly recommended at this time.

Played Chino Creek Monday & Wednesday early morning single less than 3 hours each time. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all nice. Monday rough was deep and wet Wednesday it had been mostly trimmed down. Along outside fairway areas still suspect but didn't visit to see. Traps were being worked and some looked to have new sand with others shaped and clean awaiting refilling. Greens as always receptive, smooth and medium fast speeds. I enjoy playing both courses here.

Chino Creek is still in great shape expect for most Bunkers not having sand in them. Greens are also in great shape except for all the LAZY players who refuse to fix their "Ball Marks". Wish Management would do something about players driving there Carts to close to the greens. Jacob in the pro shop does a great job handing players.

Walked on as a single on Friday morning and went right to the first tee. The course is very green and lush. Heavy mist throughout the round and the ball got no roll in the fairway. The rough was thick and wet and was harder than usual to advance the ball. Tee boxes were level and in very good shape. Traps had compacted sand and with the drizzle were pretty hard. Greens were soft with little divot damage. Ball was rolling true at medium speed.
POP was under four hours. Good basic test with the rough the main defense.
