Played Moorpark Country Club Tuesday. I’m always impressed how they keep the condition of the course year around. I understand the golf course is getting more play than usual because of some of their recent specials which explains to me why I saw much more ball mark damage on the greens than before. However, they've done a good job tending to the ball mark damage and the greens are running smooth. Always some of my favorite greens to putt on…smooth, fast and holds shots.

The rest of the course was in great shape as usual and I agree with the recent posts.

Fun layout with many risk reward par 5’s, great mix of long/short par 4’s, and solid par 3’s. Not one let-down hole. Quick Pace of Play – 4 hours 15 minutes.

Service is top-notch as is the clubhouse. This is a course where when you read “Country Club” in their name even though it’s not private, you feel like you are at one. Highly Recommended.

Played 2-21-12. Wow what a course, or should I say what courses! Got to play all 3 9's and I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. All are unique and challenging. Beautiful scenery all kinds of elevation changes and something for everyone. Tee boxes were flat and lush, greens rolled true with good speed. Bunkers were soft and well maintained. Small complaint would be that the gps system puts up a message every 3 holes of so to remind you to rake bunkers, fix ball marks etc. and its a bit annoying. If I lived in the area I would try and play here as often as possible. I can't imagine this course could ever get boring. Might cost a lot in lost golf balls though. This is a must play!

Played Moorparc CC yesterday, 2/22, as part of the GK Match Play Finals. Course was in great condition, Fairways were firm and rolling well, greens rolling true, medium fast pace. Several greens had more unrepaired ball marks than I expect from a "country club" type course, our group fixed ours plus many others on a few of them. Bunkers have light, fluffy sand (I tested a few). The GPS in the carts is nice, gives distance to the pin, as well as front and back of greens, and fairway obstacles as well.

Staff was super friendly as well.

An overall enjoyable course, definitely in the "high end" of the scale.

The conditions at this course are great. From tee to green the grass is lush and growing nice. Tee are level. Fairways and rough are lush, leaving perfect lies everywhere. Sand in the bunkers was soft and plentiful. Greens are smooth and rolling true without excessive ball marks. Divot mix is not just sand like many other courses. The carts have a nice GPS system. The practice facilities are in great shape. I noticed some construction at the range: not sure, but could be setting up for a long concrete pad at the back of the range for mats. That would be a bummer, but understandable.

Had the honor to play Moorpark CC today 2/21 at 12 noon on the Creekside/Rideline combo for the Season 2 GK match play even with JohnnyGK, Lotrgolfer48 and CK95. Great group of guys. Also got to play and finish the Canyon Crest 9 right after the match play event playing the last couple holes almost in darkness with Kviser, Sbogey, RGM2525 and Moneysworth. What a day of golf. All 3 nine's at Moorpark CC were in good shape. The tees were level, nice fluffy sand and enough coverage on the tee boxes. The fairways were in good shape with nice lies throughout the day. I have seen the greens better and faster but I would still and will rate these greens at least an 8 and in good shape. They held high trajectory irons well and were soft for the most part. The rough was in good shape and about 1-2 inches long. Pace of play was great, carts are state of the art, beverage girl around at least 3 times. Wonderful practice facility and nice staff. I would recommend this golf course to any golfer.....one of the better ones in the county.... Make sure you get a chance to play all 3 nines they are a blast to play. Favorites are Creekside and Canyon Crest.....enjoy!!

Moorpark is one of the nicest places to play in LA. The views are great, the holes - quite exciting and not boring...Greens are in fantastic shape, fast and smooth. Fairways and tee box lush and great condition. Bunkers also in good condition with sufficient amount of sand.
Staff was efficient. Saw the bev cart twice. Marshalls (yes, we saw 2 of them!!) were actually doing their jobs of keeping the pace of play in check. Unfortunately, our group (we had a beginner) was 5 min behind the pace and had a friendly reminder to keep up... Finished in 4 hour 10 mins - which was still pretty good time.
Highly recommended and looking forward to a return play.

I played at Moorpark CC for the first time this morning. Haven't had a chance to use my "unlimited" weekday voucher from GroupGolfer.com, so I used it for 18 holes on the weekend. My first time playing out here and I played the Creekside/Ridgeline nines. I was hoping to play the other nine with their winter replay rate ($20, not bad), but it was backed up and I didn't want to wait around.

I really enjoyed the course even though the wind was insane this morning and definitely made it even tougher. It always seemed to be blowing hardest right in our faces on the longer uphill holes! Both nines were pretty different, but flowed together well as a full 18. The Creekside nine had some tough, tight holes (more "target" golf on this side), but some great fun downhill holes. The short par-4 5th was a fun one, as it is reachable from the tee by even those of us with average driving distances and has some room for error so you can feel free to bomb away. The Ridgeline nine was a little bit more open, but very hilly and tight in some areas. Still pays to be accurate out here and it helps to know the course. Luckily, I was paired with a member, so he helped me navigate some of the trickier holes. We were first off the Creekside #1 tee, so we cruised around in under 4 hours.

The staff was solid and the course was in great condition for winter. The fairways and rough were pretty lush. A few patchy spots here and there, but good overall. The fairways are nice and fluffy to hit off, but still thin enough you get plenty of roll on your drives, so it was the best of both worlds. Tee boxes were in pretty good shape, bunkers were extra fluffy (sand was almost too soft for my taste) and greens were great. Greens rolled very fast and there are a lot of tough slopes out here (especially when the wind is howling), but they are still soft enough to be very receptive on approach shots.

I probably wouldn't pay full rack rate out here, but for $60 on a weekend morning it was a good deal for a fun and challenging course in a nice setting.

Played all three nines today with Moneysworth on an unlimited play coupon for $60. Well worth it, despite the incredibly windy conditions. Many putts would come up short of the hole only to be blown back several feet. Course is in terrific shape for mid winter: lush, but fast fairways, rough that varied from a nice 1/2" cut to deep and dormant bermuda, and greens that were soft and fast. Great pace of play for the first 18 at about three hours, then another two for the last nine. Top notch customer service.
