Course is not up to par for usual Moorpark standards. Greens were very soft and marked up all over. Nobody is repairing ball marks. Putting was tough. Tee boxes are beat up. fairways in decent shape for winter. Worst thing, 6 hour round on a Friday. Way to many people jammed out there. Not worth anywhere near rack rate at this point.

Not sure I see things as harshly as the last reviewer, but considering how chilly, dry and windy it's been I thought the course was actually pretty green compared to most other courses I've been playing.

The biggest issue was with the greens, but that was mainly due to the yahoos they let on the course during peak holiday hours - saw a cart driven off a path into a ravine by the same group who were in bunkers galore (then not raking them), throwing clubs on greens (and leaving the damage behind) then walking aforementioned sand from bunker all across the green. I feel sorry for the members.

Greens were very grainy and as a result the pace seemed very inconsistent - they were soft too so there were lot of spike marks especially near the hole. Conditions were best on Creekside which was lusher and is the best 9 in my opinion.

I would agree that it is not worth the rack rate, but it is still very playable and a good, fun test of golf.

This course is definitely feeling winter conditions. The fairways are very thin and quite spotty. They're still playable, but the lushness is gone. They are yellow and blotchy, and thin lies abound. Tee boxes are also thin, but in decent shape. The rough is spotty, with some lushness, but mostly thin. The greens are medium to slightly fast. They have severe ball mark damage over most of the greens. They've been filled with divot mix. The greens are rolling OK, but with some problems caused by the ball mark damage. The sand traps are in great shape. The sand is firm, not hard, and very consistent. I love the layout and variation of this course. But, overall, it's only in mediocre condition. For the Monday $60 rate including cart, it's worth it. But I wouldn't pay rack rate right now.

Played Creekside/Ridgeline on 12/2, Windy, Windy, Windy but the course is in fantastic condition. A real nice layout with lots of elevation changes and terrific views. The greens were in excellent condition and very fast. Fairways, rough and tee boxes were all in great shape.
Overall I would highly recommend playing this track whenever the chance arises.

Best holes 1,7,9 on the Canyon Crest 4,5,6,7,9 on the Creekside.
Greens, fairways and tee boxes in perfect conditions...A private country club conditions course open to the public.
In August I played Ridgeline also...3 par 5, 3 par 3 for an unforgettable and enjoyable experience.

first cut of rough about 1-2 inches and easy to get out of, second cut very thick with ball sitting down in it, get outside the second cut and you are in the scrub brush up a hill or down in a ravine, sand traps close to perfect plenty of sand and thick, greens are in the best shape i have ever seen them at this course, rolling true with medium to fast speed,
and holding shots in real good. the course is in almost perfect shape and definitely worth playing right now.

Some of the best greens I have putted on in quite some time. Reasonably fast, but very smooth and receptive to different type shots. Fairways/Tees were lush with few bad areas anywhere. Rough was thick for being relatively short and pretty consistent throughout the course. Sand was good and seemed to be well maintained. Layout here can be quite punitive if you stray even 8-10 yards off many fairways or greens with red staked native areas lurking that are an almost certain penalty shot. Nice range and practice putting area.

Customer service was a plus, nice touch that the cart person cleans off your irons afterward. The only negative was that I thought the carts GPS was off, particularly on the Creekside course. It seemed to vary widely from portable GPS and marked points on the course.

Played yesterday Creekside/Ridgeline courses. Tee to green was immaculate! Greens rolled very true with only a few ball marks. GPS in carts may be off a bit, bring yours to make sure, I found as much as 30 yrds difference on a couple holes, played the reading from my GPS at it was correct. Sand was very fluffy and clean. Overall a great time with fellow GK'ers, Moorpark is a course to play whenever you have the chance, always in great shape.

Played Moopark Country Club yesterday and the course was in fantastic shape. Best greens I’ve putted on all year. Smooth, Fast and Soft. The fairways were lush and groomed nicely. The rough was about 2 inches in most area but at times 3 to 4 inches in areas closely boarding the fairways (this was a good thing actually since the heavy stuff saved a couple of my shots from going into the hazards). The sand was excellent being well raked, nicely groomed and soft (for someone not used to playing bunkers with soft sand, I lost some strokes adjusting to it – word of advice, take a bigger swing). The tee boxes were in great shape although a little thin on few of them. Overall, again, fantastic playing conditions.

We teed off around 1:30 and finished in just under 5 hours. The round would have been quicker but we were waiting a bit on the group in front of us. Normally it only takes around 4 hours to play the course. Moorpark CC has 3 nines so this time we played the Creek/Ridgeline combo which to me is by far the most difficult. I love the Creek nine but holes 4 and 7 will eat your lunch. Hole 3 is no walk in the park either. On the Ridgeline nine, somehow survive the monster (600 yards plus) super narrow par 5 hole 5 and the long challenging 200 yards par 3 that follows and you can score well (that is if you keep it straight).

Great day of golf at Moorpark CC. Also teed it up with kviser, rgm2525 and Fear – Good times guys – Highly Recommended.
