First time playing this course, it is excellent. The only Knock on this course is that the sand traps are a little hard and a few are lacking sand. we played behind a tournament still finished in 4 hrs. Great course..

Although the greens were just punched, so they are very rough. The rest of the course is in great shape. I loved the fact that they offered a discount while the course is under repair. Keep up the good work, to all at trilogy.

Greens were not that that good for being punched almost two weeks earlier. Very bumpy. Fairways were very good, but they always are, the rough is not great alot of dead spots. The biggest disapointment was the tee box's were terriable. Many dead spots and very un-even. The customer service was very good and there price on balls was excellent. almost $10 less than other places with there sale prices.

Well the sand traps were good, but that was it. I have playing this course for four years. This is by far the worst i have ever seen it. and i must give the customer a poor mark, everone was freindly yet while wait to tee off i watched a marshal write on the info board that the course was in excelent condition. Not one tee box was acceptable, the greens were bad and fairways terriable. enough said do not play this course. unless you get a discount, then stay home anyway. but the layout is great. and the staff was freindly.

Boy for orange county being in a drought, Now i know why. Westridge stole all the h2o and put it on the fairways. This course was drenched, standing water everwhere, in cluding the sand traps. Greens were terriable but just punched so that really isn't a fair assesment of the greens. Not sure why but they paired a fourth with us after 9 holes. A little unusal but ok finished in four hours.

Nice new carts, course is coming back into very nice shap, still a couple bad spots on a few greens, but wow have they done a nice job working on this course. Starter had some serious issues, not sure why we were sent out after a group whos tee time was 15 minutes later than ours, his explinationwas that they want to pair us with another twosome, but then no one else showed up. So we played as 2 behind a 4 some all day but it was a good pace of play.

Glad to see that they are getting this course back in shape. all greens are doing real good exceot one par 3, i think its number 5. this hole is still in horrible shape. I rated them all as great though because it has been a long time since they were good at all. And the grounds crew has done a very nice job fixing them. Next they need to give some TLC to the rough, this is still a lacking area. And cut the greens a little shorter, still kinda slow. For 35 bucks though good deal!!

They were a many areas that were ground under repair. but from that they were definately improving the fairways. The course was in pretty good shape. Greens were a little rough, some ball marks, but Almost every cup showed damage from people stick their putters where they dont belong. Unfortunate but minor.

As i have read from others black gold is a golf course that has taken a pounding. Half of the holes were cart path only and because of that there were more divots than grass. They are resodding many of the tee boxes so the ones in use are totally ripped up. They are making alot of attemps to improve the course, but because of this there are many areas being neglected. Then to the greens. They are bad as usual. I dont think this is fault of the course just the people that play there. All though i have seen many times people driving carts in areas they are not supposed to be but i guess the marshalls are to interested in place of play. Which to their credit has improved and is very good. A lot of the local courses are offering specials due to course conditions, but maybe they get enough play. This wont be from our group untill the conditions improve.

FYI there are actually 15 holes open and you replay the first three. This was the first time here and i really enjoyed this course. To bad this course is going private soon!!

Very impressed with the course, greens were a little on the hard side but rolloed fairly true. Excellent price for a fun layout. Some holes were just tough. They need a little better signage on the course and why not mark the sprinkler heads. Sure would have helped. The winds started to pick up a little at 16 and played it to them the rest of the way out. Made it harder. You should go play this coures now before it takes a beating. We went out at 707 opening day and already there were unrepaired divots in the fairways but only found one or two ball marks on the greens. The ruff around the greens was very uneven and lumpy, almost like the were two different kinds of grass. Not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be, but the real "knock" on the course. Had a great day!
