Just read FirstFlightFX-101's review of the course from our match and really can add little, so I'm pointing you there. The course is really in nice shape overall. Public or not, some courses suggest management has more interest in the quality of their course conditions than others and SD seems to be one of them. It's in a nice setting with a variety of challenges in play and, as Chuck mentioned, a few quirks. Rates are good, and even better if you are a senior. The couple I brought along to play had never been there and came away quite enthused about the value of the course. They intend to return even though it was an hour drive for them to get there.

Played 5/14/21 at 1:15 tee off for a cup match with T8fish. We were joined by a wonderful couple to play with, Chris and Mary. First, the clubhouse was roped off(no entry at all to the entire structure) and no food or beverage services available. They were efficiently greeting and processing customers under the big tree that is behind the top terraced teebox on hole #1. The range net and practice greens were all open. Weather was good, temps in low 80's and light winds made for good golfing.
Tee boxes were actually good, some needing leveling and some more chewed than others.
Fairways in great shape and just on the lush side; landings and rollouts for tee shots, intermediate shots and recovery punch shots all did well for us.
Rough was healthy and kept well manicured, easy to hit from and find our wayward balls.
Bunkers, good sand, semi white and brown hue, semi fluffy with only slight crusting where the water settles.
Areas around greens were very good, like the rough, and transitioned well to the fringes. Your short game recovery shots will do well with these good lies.
Greens were good and some were being small tine aerated as we were playing. They accepted all shots and were slightly soft underfoot. They rolled medium-fast speeds. San Dimas has a wide variety of greens; sizes, shapes, tiers, ridges and slopes. Study those approaches.
This course is fun and challenging, even a few quirks. I'd love to come away from a round here with the same ball I started with, and always shooting from my own fairway. Kevin did much better at not sharing strategies with me during our match, but I was still listening when he was sharing with Chris and Mary. ;-) I walked this course with Kevin...I don't think I will try that again!

Like the previous review said. Been awhile since I have been here. Found the conditions (other than the cool gray skies) to be very good. No tee box issues. Fairways in nice playing condition. Missed the traps but heard no complaints from others. Rough was low and playable. Greens in very nice shape for chipping/putting. Great customer service at check in and food service. Very enjoyable day playing here.

It had been a while since I've played here. I never seem to score well at this course, and today was no exception. Course just does not "fit my eye" Conditions however were quite good, better than expected, even the greens which have recovered from the aeration reasonably well.
Fairways had good coverage. Tee boxes also in nice shape.

Staff was friendly and very accommodating. I would have to recommend this course right now.

Got invited to be part of a foursome to tee off at San Dimas today (Fri. 3/26) at 2:50. The first and last time I played SD was also the first time I met johnny GK and played in a GK "event" (a couple of foursomes) back in 2009. Just never got back here until now. I should have come back sooner. The course conditions overall were as good as I've seen for this time of year. Teeing grounds were generally nicely level with good coverage. A couple were uneven in that they were crowned, but you could find the top of that crown to average out a level lie. Fairways were consistently green, somewhat tight with good rollout, and nice to play from. Rough was mostly green and not really punitive. Bunker sand was nice if you managed to avoid the many footprints and got a clean spot. The green surrounds were in good shape for pitching/chipping. There is a yellow aeration notice up on GK for the greens. You can see the remains of he pattern but there is no remaining effect evident. The greens are in good shape, running a brisk medium quick and ran true. They have some contour and slope going on so they can be tricky. Really pretty nice overall and the alert should be reverted to green. We just got the 18 in and were the last group to do so with something just over a 4 hr round. Service was good and the course is in a scenic stretch of the foothills. There are a couple of quirky holes but generally it's a nice layout. I will be back a lot sooner next time. Recommended.

As for the course, the tee boxes were good. Greens were good - fast but held shots nicely.

Sand was very, very fluffy - almost too fluffy. Sand was a nice white color, which was pleasant.

The rough was thin. Some coverage, but not much.

Most disappointing part of course was the fairways. They were thin and very hard. I understand that winter plays a big part in the condition of the fairways, but this was different. Not barren, but the grass that was there may as well have just been dirt. Fairways looked green, but they were hard and just rolled out like crazy.

Staff was great, as always.

In short, i will be back, but may wait until the spring to see if the grass gets thicker on the fairways.

Played San Dimas yesterday with fellow GK'er larryq2001 at 10:00 am. This was a delayed round to celebrate Larry's birthday so we ventured out to San Dimas. We originally wanted to go to Riverside, but most places are no longer allowing single carts or want to upcharge you like Goose Creek, Oak Quarry, Dos Lagos, Glen Ivy, and Eagle Glen. Course was very organized from the check in, to the snack shop, to the starter. Plenty of single riding carts, but a lot of folks are walking this course. Both regular and senior rates available. Greens were in great shape! Smooth, running around 9 to 10. Some tricky breaks...but I think the general break is away from the mountains. The course is in good fall shape despite a very busy tee sheet. Pace of play was 4 hours. (usually a weak point of playing here!). Fairways had plenty of coverage. The only weak spot was the sand traps (no rakes so understandable) and the tee boxes. The snack shop is open and they have a nice large patio area you can order food/drinks to enjoy overlooking #1 tee and #9 green. We had a great time and I look forward to coming back! Great job San Dimas!

I got an early tee time today, POP was very good. They are using a starter, that really monitors tee time and groups. Seems about 10 minutes apart. It helps not to feel like the group behind your, is up on you, and rushing play. I like it! Now, to the golf course. Tee boxes are in really good shape. Level and firm , not too many divot damage. The fairway is in great shape, no dry spots or dirt patches. The rough seems to be cut to a very playable length. Bunkers??? The greens seem to be recently aerated. Greens look fantastic. They did roll a bit slow, but true. It is a definite recommend track.
