Deal of the day? $1.00 for upgraded yardage book even though the carts have Pro Link GPS system which worked fine BUT I prefer my Callaway 500 Rangefinder. The yardage book is a plus even if you've played this course a few times or not.

GREENS: Soft, receptive,not many ball marks but we fixed the ones we saw needing attention. Speed? Medium to Fast with some breakage near or around the cup (hole). I rated them ALMOST...ALMOST...Immaculate condition!
All putts rolled true no matter which brand of golf ball I used
(Callaway,Wilson & Srixon)

Fairways: Thin patchy areas, REMEMBER this course plays back & forth through the Flood Control Channel. (Stay away when it rains hard, then becomes a 9 hole course.) YES, you can play out of the fairways but thin or tight lies at best. Some area's may seem bare but it is drought conditions.

Rough: About 1"~2" hardly any bare areas but playable if you find yourself offline missing the fairway not by much.

BUNKERS: (NOT TRAPS) were consistent, soft with small pebbles even though looked firmer to the eyeballs.

Tee Boxes: On this day, tee boxes were moved up to accommodate & allow the remaining tee box to grow & fill in over time. Did not feel any uneven lies just some divot damage.

Customer Service: Guys in the Pro shop were friendly, explained how the B'day round works, input the course is in very good condition overall with emphasis on the greens (Pride). Carts allowed in the parking lot to load & unload.

Putting Green: You cannot ask for consistency from the very good condition greens to the course, NO CONFUSION!

It has Been YEARS.....YEARS since I last played this "QUIRKY" golf course, it's NOT long by any means nor is it a snooze (easy) course to play! All shots are needed from your bag. We chose this course because it was so close to our hotel this trip & probably will do the same next month (Look for MEET UP posting).

It's a walk able course but due to my health & energy level taking a electric cart makes it a little easier to get to the next tee box & get close the green within reasonable margin (Blue Flag).

Parking: TIP try not to park near or behind the 9th green!!! Even though there is netting, players often pick the wrong club....doink off a car or truck not uncommon.

We'll be back when in town & have our sticks!

11/15 using golf moose $49 2some with range balls--8 30 start with POP right at 4 hrs after jumping a really slow 4some on 3 who gave no indication that they would let us play thru even tho they were already 2 holes behind. Followed 2 4somes of womens club that we caught on 6--some waiting but pretty steady pace as the ladies showed good course management.
Fairways have good cover were consistently mowed and provided good lies--some scattered thin areas which didnt really come into play. No rough to speak of along fairways but more so around the greens--mostly mowed to about 1 1/2 inches with a thickness that kept the ball up instead of buried.
Bunkers have course sand but are well maintained and were groomed--very playable. Tees were decent ok cover and level.
The greens were really nice--100% healed looked lush-- soft and receptive but smooth at medium speed with subtle breaks as the ball slowed near the hole. A few ball marks either unprepared or poorly done.
Staff is friendly and welcoming--nice setting and great putting green.

we wanted to try something different so we ended up at river view and we were pleasantly surprised . The price was right at under 50 bucks on the weekend with a cart and considering the neighborhood and close freeway location we thought the practice facility, bar and pro shop we great and the staff very friendly . The greens were well kept but slow and the tee boxes were the worst feature of the course. The layout was a little confusing but a second time round would clear all that up and the sand traps were in good shape. I would play here again and we think its a great option for families or folks just learning. I woudnt go here if your looking for a great round at a resort course or a difficult test because it isnt either of those things but its good fun at a great price and we need more courses like it.

I played on 9/24 with Gregholla. Overall I was rather disappointed in the quality and conditions of the course. Greens were looked good but were extremely soft and slow. Fairways were inconsistent and had a lot of gravel. I have never really enjoyed playing this coarse but figured I would give it another shot. Seem to be just how I remembered it. I would pay more then $20 to play here. There are some challenging holes but the layouts seem forced and confusing. Pace of play was about 51/2 hours and seemed longer. I hope this helps.

Played the Blues (6190/68.4/120) in 3H, 30M as a single. The weather was in the 90's, breezy and sunny. Quirky layout that goes back and forth across & around a wash which currently is dry and plays as a waste bunker. The tees were poor overall. A few were fairly lush. However, far too many were really beat up. Both thin and needing divot repair. The fairways were mostly thin with complete but uneven coverage. Not that good to play off of. The rough is not overly long, but the unevenness makes it penal at times. You want to avoid the large areas that are dirt or sand where the wash is located that comes into play on the right side of many holes on this layout. The sand traps were thin, decently maintained with coarse brown sand. The greens putted medium fast, were firm but held approach shots well. Decent, but far too many ball marks to be considered good. The customer service was excellent, quick efficient check-in. Excellent service in the restaurant for the obligatory awesome cheese burger here. No beverage cart here but the Player Assistant was out patrolling. They have a very nice putting course laid out on the putting green. Recommended = No because the layout is below average and both the tees and fairways are well below average.

Played the Blues (6190/68.4/120) as a single in 3H, 45M. The weather was sunny, breezy and in the 90's. The tees were poor overall. A few had been resodded and were fairly lush. However, far too many were really beat up. This is a significant detraction on a course that has 7 par 3's. The fairways were thin, more like mowed down rough on many other courses. Not good to play off of. The rough is also thin. Not overly long, but the unevenness makes it penal at times. They have large areas that are dirt or sand where the wash is located that plays like a waste bunker that comes into play on the right side of many holes on this layout. You want to avoid this area, many footprints and the chances of you getting a stance and lie you can advance the ball a significant distance is low. The traps were decently maintained with coarse brown sand. However, they could use some more sand, too thin. The greens look nice and putted medium fast. Usually firm and held approach shots well. The River View layout zigs and zags across & around a wash which currently is dry. Many unique things about this layout. 5 of the 1st 10 holes are par 3's. Only par 70 course I remember playing that has 5 par 5's. Only regulation course I have ever played that has more par 3's (7) than par 4's (6). The customer service was excellent, quick efficient check-in. Player Assistant out patrolling, no beverage cart here. They have a very nice putting course laid out on the putting green. Used a golf moose voucher 2 for 50, includes range balls, yesterday at 130pm POP was 4 hrs on the nose. This course is in and out of a river bed for a majority of the par 4's and fives. You normally tee off from the levy and then down into the riverbed and up the other side to the green. The fairways were beat up and were very firm when in the riverbed. Large waste land area's where the water runs in the winter has a lot of rocks and trash due to the homeless people that live up river and sleep in the bushes around the course. I am not a fan of this course but its where my friends wanted to play so I tagged along.

Tee's- most of the tee boxes were beat up and a lot of divot damage. About half were uneven as well this made it tough on the par 3's.

Fairways- thin and firm great for roll but bad for the clubs as right under the grass is small rocks that beat up your clubs. I made sure to leave my PXG in the bag. sorry 56 degree taylormade.

Greens- Soft, bumpy, and slow. I had 3 shot plug into the green and stay which was quite funny the first shot not 2 other times in the round.

Rough- The rough was a mixed bag of nice by the greens to no existent on the course also when you find the rough you are almost guaranteed a bad lye in between clumps of grass.

IN all any day golfing is good but just wont be back to this course for a while

7/28 from the blues 6190 68.4/120 using Golf Moose $49 2some with range balls(mats but spongy with good cushion)--huge putting green as well-- on a warmish 830 tee tie but pretty much as usual here sent off when ready at 805 on way to a POP of just under 3 1/2 hrs following a couple of groups with some waiting--but I guess playing as a 2some and pretty much staying in the fairway and being on or around the green doesnt provide much delay. Tees generally level but lacked consistent cover rather thin with some divot damage on most par 3s. Bunkers have ample course sand--the 1 I was in was groomed and raked--others looked pretty much the same. We played the river bed as a waste bunker --some play it as GUR when dry--its a hazard when it has water I guess. Fairways appear green but for the most part the grass is rather clumpy and the ball settles down onto the dirt providing a thin lie about 90% of the time. No significant rough along fairways but abundant around the greens. Greens were soft well watered and on the slow side--rolled pretty smooth seemed like with less break than when dry and cut down. Layout is a little quirky many elevated tees and greens hitting into the valley and then back up on the approach. Many of the holes are set up to favor a draw or a fade if you play lefty. Not long by the card but offers a decent challenge. Friendly staff,

Played on 7/21 with tee time around noon. It took us about 3 hours to play 18. We decided to play here as we decided to use our free golf round we received from this year's LA golf show. We just had to pay $12/person cart fee.

It was a very hot day playing today. It was nice having the GPS in the carts to provide us with yardages and some tips on playing the hole. The holes playing above the river channel were fairly narrow. You need to be careful playing these holes as you can go OB pretty quickly or hit your shots to the next fairway. There were a lot of holes here where you need to hit your shot across the river channel. The river channel was dry today. You can actually hit from the river channel if your ball lands in this area (mostly sand). Some of the holes are along the river channel with very wide fairways. There is water on hole #9 par 3.

The fairways were getting pretty beat up with the lack of rain in the summer. Coverage was pretty good on the fairways. There were lots of bare spots and yellow grass on the fairways. The tee boxes were level but it was getting pretty beat up. Greens were in excellent condition. With it being hot today, it was rolling a little fast. Greens were pretty firm today.

Didn't care for playing here. I just didn't care for the layout. It's pretty inexpensive. There were a lot of holes with elevated greens. It was hard to choose your shots to the greens as you don't know what's up there. Hole #8 was interesting with a couple of trees in your way on your tee shot. This is not a flat course.

There is a small driving range here. Nice putting green here. Staff is very friendly.
