Haven't played this course in several years as my last experience here was rather a major disappointment. Offered a free round from one of my buddies on Sunday morning so jumped at the chance. Things here at this course are DEPLORABLE!!!!

Fairways were a mix of dead green, burnt, tight lies that included many bare areas, or ground cover weeds, and hard as CEMENT. Rough, bare or overgrown weeds was the normal to find. If you do come across grass its crisp and contains the previously mentioned ground cover weeds that seem to go on forever.
Bunkers in theory only because of the look and non-playable rock hard, little to no sand and fairly large pebbles that resemble half in inch rocks.
Greens, forget it, rough, bouncy dry, dead in several areas not just on the fringe. Made our own rule to move the ball for a clear line after the first couple of holes. Finally, customer service was eager to take your money without a mention or warning about the poor conditions.
Never thought i would be happy to see a course go but in my opinion this is a good choice. Don't waste your time or money here.

Unfortunate, as this was a nice course in its late 90s early 00s heyday.

I was glad to make it out here one last time.

Thumbs down for me at this time... I use to like playing this course, the staff has always been great and it's got a decent layout with various challenges but the condition the course seems to be on down slide, currently it is "not good". Tee boxes have been neglected, a little beat up and the grass needs to be cut. The fairways aren't what they use to be, a lot of dead spots. The greens are kind of hit and miss, some are green and decent but others are fair at best... one green is really bad like it has blight or something. The sand is OK, a bit thin but playable, just not consistent. We went into the bar at 3:45 and it was closed... the air conditioning was off and no lights on so I'm not sure what's that all about. Over the years the course has dropped a bit in comparison to what it use to be but now it's in only fair condition. On the positive side there are specials online for cheap, like $22 which is a lot better than the $50 they get during the weekdays. Maybe some water and a bit of maintenance this course could get back to a decent playable course. For now I'd pass until the conditions improve.

The tee boxes we uneven most of the time, fairways had several types of grass throughout if there was even grass at all. Rough not very penal, sand traps were a mixed bag. Greens were pretty beat up and bumpy. Only reason why I keep coming back is because it's relatively close and has a fairly reasonable green fee.

Played in a Saturday morning tournament with my regular club. I've only played Westridge once before, and that was maybe 12 or 13 years ago, and the wind was howling so hard that day that I remember my golf ball vibrating on the green when I was trying to putt. So I was looking forward to seeing the course under more normal conditions.

Unfortunately, this course needs a lot of TLC. There were several tee boxes where we had to tee up on brown dirt patches. Lots of bare spots in the fairway, and a couple of greens had bare spots too. Bunkers had very coarse sand, and at least one I was in was filled with rocks and pebbles that would ruin your clubface. It's a shame because it's a decent layout. They have flipped the nines since the last time I played, and the greens are tricky to read. I had at least three putts that broke into the hill that the course is built on.

Customer service was very nice. They have a cute dog that has been adopted by the club, and rides along with one of the marshals. Unless I read that the course conditions have improved, though, my club won't be playing any tournaments there in the near future.

Played 07/08/16 - I've always liked this course, it's usually in decent shape but today I was a bit disappointed. I haven't played Westridge in quite a while and maybe the drought is partially to blame because it's not as green as usual. The sand traps are in brutal shape... they definitely need some work, a lot of rocks and some seemed as hard as concrete... when you walk in and out without leaving any foot prints it makes me wonder why no up keep. Speed of play was OK, we played behind a tournament, there were two 3 person scrambles in front of us but they kept a decent pace of play considering the two groups playing together. It was only $27 to play at 12:45 but I'd rather pay a little more for better conditions. Hopefully the conditions will improve soon.

Quick review today. Teed off at 10:10, finished in 3 hours 45 minutes. There were people out there but not too crowded, and the marshal was around constantly and did an amazing job keeping the pace moving along. Fastest round I've played here.

The greens were smooth, quick, and had less ball marks than usual. Very nice today. The remainder of the course can only be described as ragged, yet playable. Stay out of the bunkers, lots of rocks in them. I'd play again because it's so close to me.

Played the Blues (6237/70.4/130) using Forelinx playing as a 3some with James & Jeff in 4H, 10M. The weather was fairly calm, partly cloudy and in the 70's by the time we were finishing. The tees were mostly lush and reasonably well maintained for divots. If you played the tee markers, many were either moved way up and a few were way back. (And i am talking in front of the reds or behind the blacks was where the blue tee markers were placed on many holes. I played the actual blue stones. Numerous tees had not been mowed recently, possibly since before the rains? The fairways were winter thin with some large hardpan areas mixed in. The rough was not overly long or penal unless your ball nestles between clumps or gets on a hardpan area. The sand traps have too many rocks in them to be considered good. Many were thin and the sand quality was below average, more like brown dirt. The greens putted reasonably smooth and were at least medium speed. Firm but held well struck irons very well. They putted much better than they looked. It looks like a fungus has been an issue on many greens as irregular off color circles were present on most greens, which I do not remember on my last visit here. The customer service was okay. Dan the starter had my clubs on a cart for my 6:22 tee time. However, the pro shop was unmanned. By the time I was properly checked in, 2 groups of 4some "regulars" had already teed off. We did not get off until 6:40. Not ideal when you make a tee time for 1st light and drive a good distance on the expectation of a quick round. The POP was brutal for 7 holes, then proceeded well thereafter. The drink cart and the Marshall upgrade the above to okay, as both were out patrolling early. The target golf layout is decent if you like the challenge of hills and occasional blind shots. Greens above average today, everything else below average but playable. For me, this course is worth playing, it has many holes I like. Especially with the greens getting better with each visit.

6:00am tee time. Pro shop did not open, so one of the employees allowed us to go anyway. (Used underpar coupon so round was prepaid) It was great being first off, as we never had to wait at all. The downside was because of fog, we had almost zero visibility the entire round. On the closing holes, we had perhaps 125-150 yards of visibility. Tough to hit for pins when you can't even see the green!

Even so it was great playing in 2:45 without the typical delays associated with this course. The greens were good, not great not very acceptable. I was however very disappointed in the fairways. Lots of bare spots everywhere. Not for lack of water because they were soaked? Also they were watering the greens, so on maybe 1/3 of the holes the greens were still puddled with standing water.

I enjoy this course, but still preferred the "old" routing. Not a big fan of switching the nines.
