Played Fri Apr25th, Pace of play was "OK" had a foursome in front of us that clearly should not have been hitting from the blue tees. Obvious from one of their group 50 feet up the hill and only 20 yards off the tee box on #16 (a par 3). Marshal even saw them and did NOT tell them to speed up???? The fairways were in good shape , not many divits and nice grass. The greens were another story, Very inconsistant. First 4 or 5 were very slow and bumpy, Then we got a few nice ones and then the bumpy ones returned. The bunker at the green I was in had nice sand. The fairway bunkers were dirt. I actually like this course because of the varriation of holes. Some you can hit away and some you have to think. Oh and BTW don't plan on eating there if you don't have ALLOT of time for lunch. VERY VERY slow.

Played Westridge on Monday the 31st to beat the rain that was coming on Tuesday. I think everyone and their mother had the same idea because the POP was horrendous. The POP has been pretty good lately as I play here often so I stand by my theory as to everyone was trying to get their round in before the rain. Anyways, the course is in really great condition. Fairways were lush, everything was really manicured. The greens were slower than usual but that's because they had punched them three weeks prior. Overall it's always a fun track and I will continue coming here...

Westridge was the final stop on my trip through Orange County last weekend. After reading reviews I was very excited to find this course on a GN Hot Deal for $47. Unfortunately my excitement was replaced with frustration and disappointment by the end of my round. Upon arriving at the course I was informed by the starter that I would be joining another single and a twosome for my 11:23 tee time. I took advantage of the putting green next to the starter while waiting for my group to arrive. At 11:30 I was informed my group were "no shows" and I would be joining a different twosome. I was paired with my new group and sent to the tee at 1145. We finally teed off at 11:50. The couple I was paired with were a wonderful older husband and wife. During the entire time I had been waiting on the practice green there were no groups sent out so we had a wide open course in from of us. Upon our arrival at the 8th hole we were approached by the ranger who told us we were behind pace because there was space between us and the next group. He then quickly sped away. We looked at the POP listed on the scorecard and realized we were in fact on pace, and he was probably thinking we had teed off at 11:23. We played through the 8th and by the time we were approaching the 9th green the ranger was back again. We tried to ask him if he knew we had teed off at 11:50 and were quickly met with a response of "you're not keeping up with the forward group" response from him. I asked him how I could help to speed up our play to help him, he seemed to be offended by my question and curtly told me "you need to play faster." I asked him what he would recommend for me to help him and he responded "by dropping your attitude before I tell you to kick rocks." I was completely taken aback by his attitude toward our group. The couple I was with were not happy with him either and voiced their concerns to the starter who also seemed to have a chip on his shoulder toward us. After a chat with the Manager Eric (who was the only friendly face I encountered here) we decided to continue our play upon the condition that the Ranger change his attitude. Upon arrival at the 10th tee we finally saw a group in front of us. We played on their tails the rest of the round and finished our day at 1600 (exactly 4 hrs 10 minutes POP to the recommended 4 hrs 18 min according to the course guidelines). Upon arrival at the clubhouse we found the only staff available for club cleaning to be the ranger, maybe this was his first day as a ranger? Despite the hassle and rude staff we managed to have an enjoyable day as a group. Now to review the course. The tee boxes were pretty beat up and not level in many areas. I found myself teeing up 3-5 yds behind the box many times to have grass to hit off of. The fairways were pretty nice with some bare spots here and there. The rough was absolutely brutal! 5"-8" long right off the fairway. The fairways here are heavily sloped throughout the course so shots that landed in the fairway commonly rolled slightly into the rough. We lost a few balls on well placed shots because we couldn't find them in a timely manner (never more than 2-3 min searching). The greens were good on some holes and had large bare spots on others. The practice green did not reflect the green speed at all (greens were much faster on the course, and inconsistent between holes. The bunker sand was wet and full of pebbles, and none were raked (maybe the ranger should have done a little course maintenance during his tours?). Overall I think good customer service could have alleviated the less than par course conditions, but the combination of rude staff and bad maintenance made for a negative experience. If I had payed the $75 GN rack rate I would have been demanding a refund. Even with getting the Hot Deal break on the rate I still did not find this round to be worth my $47. I would not recommend this course as there seem to be better values in the area (the couple I played with had many glowing recommendations for Anaheim Hills and Dad Miller). Very disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable trip. I would like to thank everyone who have posted reviews here as they were a big help in planning my trip!

What a difference a year makes. I haven't played Westridge for a while, but it is in good shape. The fairways, greens, bunkers, and tee boxes were all in good shape. I felt the rough was a little overgrown, over-penalizing shots that were just a bit off. The best part is that the marshals were active in keeping the pace of play moving. They were proactive in getting groups to keep pace! What a novel idea! Can't beat playing 36 holes on a nice course on a Saturday for less than $40! (underpar deal). Overall, great experience. Kudos to the management team. I will definitely be coming back soon.

First round of the new year today at Westridge w/some buddies. Tee time was 9:10am and we were out on time. POP was good today at 4 hours. Would agree with all the previous reviews other than the fact that the greens are rolling true right now. Med-fast with a lot of undulations and some tough pins today that really made you think. Greens are soft and holding well. All other aspects of the course are decent however one major gripe that I have is that they are overwatering the course way too much! Mud balls everywhere and driving the carts in some areas was really sketchy with all the hills here. That alone would prevent me coming back anytime soon. It's been a dry winter but playing here was like playing after a couple days of down pour. Not worth the rack rate of $75. Would rather go to Industry Hills for that price point for a much higher quality golfing experience.

Had a great time with fellow GKers sixpez, kviser and teagal. Customer service was excellent right from check in and all the way through, even the guy hosing off the carts in the garage said thank you for coming as we were walking out. Cart girl was by frequently until her shift ended.
Course is a decent, tight, undulated challenge. Greens were decent, but quite bumpy. Thankfully not too bad on ball marks. The few times I wasn't actually chipping and made GiR I left a substantial divot. I can see how with the heavy play the course gets these divot marks can get out of control quickly.
Sand was full, semi soft, better than most.
Fairways decent, lush enough.
Rough again decent, some bare areas and quite muddy at times. Typical LA hillside course types of mixed grasses throughout.
Tee boxes lush, but most not real level. Many divots on tees as well.
No GPS on cart, but most shots are visible and pin placement chart helps.
Run for the hills if you get pin position 4.
Overall a decent course, definitely need to be hitting straight, something I seem to have forgotten how to do lately.

Played yesterday with kviser, sixpez and acesfull (who I always golf with!). Staff was very friendly. We checked in with no problems and went right out, a few minutes earlier as scheduled. We didn't catch up to anyone except on that first par 5, go figure!! Pace of play is slow. We saw the cart girl quite a few times early on and that was it. Marshall was around and checked in a few times. Greens didn't have as many divot marks as I thought, from reading past reviews, but we still fixed our share of them. The greens were more bumpy than smooth. Tee boxes were a little bit too lush for me. Fairways had divots that no one seemed to fill. The rough seemed to eat golf balls whenever you landed there, so it was a little difficult to find your golf ball. Bunkers were nice, had sand in them and plenty of footprints! Yesterday's pin placement was in challenging locations. Overall, narrow fairways with some carries that if you like target golf, this may be the place for you.

My first time at this course and I noticed right away that it's hilly and there are narrow fairways. That said, it is in somewhat decent wintry condition right now. There are some areas that are being seeded and are roped off, mainly in the walk off areas near the cart paths and greens. Greens were soft and medium slow, but very tricky with a lot of undulation. Tees were a little uneven and it was a challenge to find a good, level teeing surface. A lot of divots on the tees and in several landing areas of the fairways; mostly filled with a sand/seed/mulch mix, though. Like sixpez noted, the fairways sloped one way or another, and you needed to hit to the uphill side or risk going off. Rough was long enough to hold your ball on a slope in most places. Sand was good and plentiful, but the bunkers could use a good raking. A few forced carries here and there, and some interesting layout of the holes makes this a fun and challenging track.

Had a 9:40 tee time on a Wednesday, actually got off early due to some cancellations and finished in 4.5 hours. Fairways are in good shape but some wet spots and GUR required winter rule play. Course is hilly and sometimes narrow, some challenging lies result. Greens are moderate speed with lots of contour and some challenging hole placements. $50 round with cart, sleeve of balls, and well drink in the bar made for a good deal.
