The staff is always very accommodating and I rarely have any issues getting out early. Weather was near perfect, albeit a little chilly, but warmed up quickly. Course is in reasonably good condition, considering the time of year. Fairways a bit thin, but not bad. Greens rolled very well. Bunkers were hit or miss. Rough was good at times, and not so good at times, but not too bad.

Fun golf course to play because of both it's challenge and the views. ( I always play the "tips" here, which affords some very dramatic tee shots and vistas.) Although a couple of the holes are now too long for me to reach the greens with any regularity. ( #2, #9 and #17) I just try to make 1 putt pars if possible on those holes now.

Sure am glad they decided not to close this course down, as the rumors had indicated some years back. I would miss playing here.

Played today. 2-21-16. I got a last minute GN deal for $23 (plus $2.49 fee) at 12 pm. It was a beautiful, breezy, chilly day. The gentleman in the pro shop was very nice and paired me with Dave, Mike and Lee. The course was in very nice condition. The fairways were a bit thin but had nice coverage and I really didn't have any bad lies. Several tee boxes were under repair but most of the others, though thin, were clean and level. The greens were in great shape, very smooth. I found only a handful of marks to repair. The few bunkers I was in were clean and soft. POP was exactly 4 hours. There was no one in front of us but we were in no hurry, enjoying a fun relaxing round. I really can't find much negative to say about a course that let me shoot 43 on the front ;-). The only thing is it's a shame the giant rock in the middle of the 4th fairway has graffiti on it. I hope they can clean that off. I look forward to playing there again soon.

One of the best thing I like about playing Hidden Valley is that the staff is always so accommodating. This is not a course to play in tough weather conditions, which was the case today. Cold and windy ! Greens rolled well, but did not seem to receive shots very well? (Maybe the wind, Maybe my poor ball striking?)

Course is actually in better condition than most. The rain I'm sure didn't hurt ! I think I'll wait until the weather warms up before I return, because these early morning rounds are tough !

I played, Sunday Jan. 25 with my Golf Club Group (Hi Caps) We had 6 groups, I was in group 5, got off about 8:45. The course layout is a great challenge; wide open on most and narrow as an arrow on another. There are a lot of elevation changes on the different tee boxes. The tee boxes where firm and mostly flat, some with some tilt. The fairways where firm and fast, the ball rolls or bounces out another 20-40 yards, added the slopes on the course. The rough was cut really tight, about 1-1 1/2, so it is easy to advance your next shot. The bunkers are firm, but escapable, almost every hole had bunkers protecting the greens, so be prepared with your bunker game. The greens are firm and fast, or slow, or rolled pretty smooth, depending on, if you are putting into the mountain slope or against it. But they did roll nice. This is a must play course, you will get frustrated, but you will also feel rewarded on some holes when you birdie or par a hole.

Played here today with sixpez. 11:50 GN "Hot Deal" tee time using Keith's GN Rewards Buy One, Get One reward (thank you sixpez!), so we got an incredible deal. Started a few minutes late and pace was slow, but we finished right around 5:00.

Conditions are splotchy and not all that pretty, but quite playable. Tee boxes were fine. Fairways seemed to be a mixture of different grasses and played firm and fast, but I never had a bare lie. Rough was cut low and almost non-existent, balls that ran through the fairway often reached the natural areas that border the course. Bunkers were a little thin but not bad. All I was in had at least some soft sand in them. Greens were medium fast, occasionally bumpy but overall pretty decent. Beware of the 17th green – it's sneaky fast from back to front.

I love this layout and overall I had a great time on a pretty beautiful day.

Played here this afternoon with Itslikeimsayin. Booked a GN hot deal for $34 each at 11:50, but I used a BOGO reward, so it ended up being only about $20 each after all the fees and such. It didn't appear very busy out when we arrived, but we were in the midst of the 11:00 rush when I'm guessing rates go down. We started a bit late and on most holes, the group ahead was still on the next tee when we finished each hole. There was a lot of waiting and we finished with just enough light, around a 5-hour pace. The last review nails the conditions pretty well. Winter shape, so it looks a little ugly, but the playability was fine. Tee boxes okay. Fairways a hodge podge of different grasses, but maintained decently in most places. Rough not a factor at all. I was only in one fairway bunker and it was okay. No comments on greenside ones. The greens were easily the best part of the course. They were fairly soft and got a bit bumpy as the day went on, but they were rolling very fast. Downhill putts were extremely delicate and the 17th pin placement was downright insane! Always a fun layout with a lot of risk/reward options, hilly terrain and lots of trouble in play. Certainly a target layout where accuracy is at a premium, but good scores can be had with proper execution. Great setting and scenery.

Had a great time. Killer course, whatta layout! Tough if you miss your drives, thank god I was on point today. Winter conditions right now, typical of just about all courses right now. POP was at 4 hours, a slow foursome let us play through at number 14.

Teeboxes were just fine, lots of dormant bermuda, but fairly level and had some new growth after the recent rain, so can't complain. The rest of the course was a little iffy, hit and miss. Fairways had some dry areas and lots of soggy areas, they are doing some work on them, so GUR in some places. Hit most all the fairways and had good lies about 80% of the time. Sand traps were a little on the hard side, probably due to the rain last night. Rough was not a factor, dormant bermuda, only made chips tricky. Greens were just okay, they held shots very well, but were very bumpy and fast, hard to read. I couldn't make squat!

Customer service was perfect. Jay, the Marshall was spot on, whatta nice guy. He kept everyone honest on the pace. Cart girl was great as well, saw her 3 times, which was just fine. All n all, go ahead and get out there, paid $49 rack rate for a weekday in between xmas and new years so can't complain, there is a great costco $30 deal right now, not valid today, but I bought one anyway, great deal for $30. Not complaining at $49, killer course with great views, can't wait to go back and use my vouchers.

First review here... So yesterday I played Hidden valley with a friend of mine. We teed off at 1100 am. Great pace untill we hit the 5th hole having to wait 10 min to tee off on every hole after that. The course was a good condition. Greens were great a little tough for me but very fun. we didn't get to finish our round it was way to packed. But we enjoyed what we were able to play. We definitely will be back

Was not quite as impressed this time around, though I still do think this is one of the better tracks in western Riverside county.

With regards to staff, everyone was top notch. Hailey (the cart girl) was lots of fun and came around 4 or 5 times.

With regards to the course, many of the fairways were muddy to the point that the ball would plug badly. Most of the tee boxes were level, but a few were not level. Sand traps were a bit thin, but were ok. Greens were actually pretty good; fast and firm.

One big annoyance I had was that my cart crapped out very early in the round on a steep incline. I had to push the cart up the incline while my buddy pushed and steered. To the staff's credit, they had a new cart to us 5 minutes after we called the clubhouse.

One other thing that we encountered was a severe backlog of foursomes on the front 9. There was a marshal that was doing his best to move people along, but some groups were simply ignoring him (marshal was very nice, and was being firm with the backlog groups). Not sure what I would recommend regarding this issue, since the marshal was doing what he could to clear the backlog, but figured I would note the issue notwithstanding.

In all, even with the annoyances, Hidden Valley is still a lot off fun to play. The layout is great and the service is phenomenal.
