Played the Vineyard course with three friends the morning of May 18th. Had an 8:02 tee time and went off right on time. Played an about 4 hours with a relaxing pace. Didn't have to wait and really wasn't pushed by the group behind.

Played the white tees and they were were all in pretty good shape except for maybe the 11th hole, which had an up slope like and felt it caused the ball to launch higher than normal costing a slight amount of distance.

Greens putted smooth. Sign said playing at about a 10.5 and that seems about right. Fairway was in great shape and the rough the same playing maybe and inch thick but getting deeper the further you got from the fairway.

Was only in one bunker and it was a great condition and gave no problems coming out.

Would play again and recommended at this time.

Played 4-21-19 early morning on a $22 special they had walking the course in a little under 3 hours. Tee boxes were in okay shape mostly level with descent coverage. Fairways are still healing from being punched but mostly gave descent lies with the ball sitting down sometimes in small bare spots. Rough was uniformly cut to a low length and in good shape. Was not in any bunkers but they looked okay. Greens where soft and a little slow with an occasional bump. Fun walkable course with some minor elevation changes and a few water hazards in play.

Haven't played or reviewed in soooo long! Enjoyed the Vineyard course on a chilly & damp (some would say rainy) Saturday (Jan 5th @ 9:30 am). Due to the weather, the course was not busy and the 4 hours POP was on us. We never had to wait and no one was pushing us. The course is in winter condition and the fairways are hard and thin. Before the sprinkles came, shots in the fairway would roll quite a ways. But, the fairways are always better than the rough which was a mixed bag of grass, clumps and dirt. The bunkers were in good condition with just the right amount of sand for this hacker to escape (so I liked 'em!). Tee boxes were all in decent shape with just minimal damage on the par 3 boxes. The greens were interesting. Definitely the most maintained aspect of the course. They were listed at running 10.5 but I think they were slower than that...and once the sprinkles came, all bets were off. The green complexes were are weird dark green color; as if they had been painted that way. I don't recall the greens being that color in the past, but it made finding the complexes pretty easy. They rolled well and had minimal divot damage. The weather made the speed difficult. I've seen the courses at River Ridge in much better condition and look forward to coming back in the spring & summer.
The staff & service here is always great. I understand they will be under new management effective 7/1/19. I hope the new management keeps the staff!
Oh... and I walked off with a par on #18. Always a good way to end a round on the Vineyard Course!

Played 8-7-18 first out walking as a single, teeing off at 6:10 and finishing at 8:40. Tee boxes were in good shape, semi-lush and mostly level with minor divot damage on par threes. Fairways were mostly lush with some minor thin areas and minimal roll out and mostly good lies. Rough was not to long maybe 2 inches at the most and in good shape. Was not in any bunkers but they looked a little firm and some of them did have some small rocks. Greens were a little shaggy and slow and very soft so approaches stuck like darts, I even had four shots plug. Overall course is in pretty good shape.

Played as a foursome on Saturday morning the 14th with a 9:06 tee time. The course was crowded and the starter informed us upon getting to the first tee that they were going to let the group in front get a little lead on us and sent us off 10 minutes late. It really didn't help and by the third hole we were stacked up on the tee box. Waited on a few shots throughout the day, and the group behind was on us. But POP was still around 4 and a half hours so not that bad.

Course is in fair shape. Fairways were in good shape, lush with few bare spots. Rough was much of the same, without being to penal. Was in a few traps and they had were somewhat hard packed, but played fair. Tee boxes mostly level and some of the par 3's had considerable divot damage, but they didn't hinder finding a place to tee it up.

The greens could use some work. They had a fungus and was told by the starter and head's up posted here that they are going to aerate a few of the greens. Ball marks not much of a problem, but the fungus caused many puts to bounce of line and they putted extremely slow for what I am used to at either River Ridge course.

I really enjoy the layout, it can be a tough walk with some of the holes being a hike between green to the next tee, and some holes having decent little hills to climb. For the next couple of weeks I would stay away with the greens problems and the Cowboys coming to town for training camp the par 5 13th hole will become a short par 3. After that I would recommend and will be back.

First time on the Vineyard course for a customer tournament and it was very enjoyable. Overall conditions were mostly very good with a few thin, burned out areas in the fairways but mostly on the fringes. Some holes were crazy lush and green, others (mostly on the front nine) were a little more dry or burned out, but nothing bad. Greens were in good shape with some tough pins. Medium fast speeds. Bunkers did not come into play as our team managed to not find any all day (finishing 8-under overall). Tee boxes fine.

I enjoyed the layout for the first time and don't see any hugely dramatic differences between the Vineyard course and its partner in crime Victoria Lakes. A little less water maybe to deal with but overall it bounces around from some hilly sections, to some parkland style (love the look of the par 5 15th) and even a bit linksy on the front nine. It's fun.

Always a good setup at River Ridge and they seem to take good care of their customers. And yes, the 18th hole is an island green, but it's like the biggest island you've ever seen.

Played 5-13-18 afternoon on a TeeOff deal for $28.50 including cart, joined by another single and finishing in about 3 hours and 15 minutes. Tee boxes were in good shape mostly level and semi-lush with minimal divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in descent shape, they are still showing some signs of recovering from whenever they verticut but they are mostly semi-lush with some minor thin spots. Rough was cut pretty low not much higher than fairways and getting pretty dry and brown the farther you got from the fairway. Was in three greenside bunkers all of which had a descent layer of firm sand and nice to hit from. Greens were a disappointment, they were very bumpy and slow, and even though they have fully recovered from being punched they did not look to be in good shape. Hopefully the current conditions is just the result of necessary maintenance and the course will get back to its usual great shape.

Played today, teeing off at 11:18 with a GK Coupon, $28 walking by myself. It was mostly uncrowded today and after playing through a couple of groups on holes 2 and 14, I was able to finish in 3 hours and 10 minutes. I joined another walking single on holes 7 through 13, when he had to leave. Hole 13 is basically the old turn at the clubhouse and I think he had to pick up his kid. One of the marshals gave me a lift to 14 tee and that group there let me pass. After that it was wide open.

Tees: Level and lush. A few par threes and short par fours had some divot damage, but there was ample sand bottles if only folks would use them.

Fairways and rough: Not too much difference between either. Good lies and plenty of turf to hit from most everywhere except in a couple of areas of rough between holes 10 and 11 where you could find some scruffy lies. It seems like it's always like that on this part of the course. Might be an irrigation issue because it seems like it's up on the ridge and the ground appears dryer than other areas of the course. It's not bad by any means and is comparable to many courses in So Cal. Everywhere else there is a lot of good turf.

Greens: You could see micro-punched holes on the greens, but it did not affect roll. Good speed; starter had a board stating they were 10'-8". Not many ball marks were seen although the greens were soft enough for me to create deep craters with high approaches. I think the greens are great on this course and even though they were kind of medium fast, they held most shots with any spin.

Sand: I saw lots of good sand, at least in the one bunker I found on hole 17, about 10 yards in front of the green.

Overall, I like this course. I felt there were good playing conditions from tee to green. After the round I ran into t8fish, fellow GKer, and his dog. We all went to the snack shack for a bite and some good conversation; well, Kevin and I conversed while the dog was just being cool.

I have to recommend this course, especially with the GK Coupon. Thanks to Johnny and Otto to help out a fellow American!

Played 1-16-18 mid morning with GDR23 walking for $28 using the GK coupon. We were joined by another twosome and finished in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Tee boxes were in real nice shape, mostly level and lush. Fairways were very nice for this time of year, green, lush and very nice to hit from. Rough was not to long maybe an inch or two longer than fairways and fairly easy to hit out of. Was in three greenside bunkers two of which had nice semi soft sand and the third which had very soft sand, with all three being in very nice shape. Greens had just been top dressed with a light sanding but still putted fairly smooth and a little slower than normal. Great value with the GK coupon on a course that is in real nice shape.
