Played as a threesome November 14 with a 7:20 tee time from the white tees. POP was right at 4 hours with the course doing a good job of spacing out tee times every ten minutes. Check in was easy and straight forward with COVID protocols in place. Mask needed in side at check in.

Tee boxes where in fine shape, some divot damage but never had trouble finding a place to hit from. 6/10

Fairways were a little on the thin side, but had decent coverage throughout. 6/10

Rough was a mix between 2-3 inches and not being able to tell the difference from the fairway. 5/10.

Sand traps were in decent shape considering there were no rakes, a little hard for my liking though. However, there was a grounds member out on the course smoothing out the traps. 5/10.

Greens were the highlight of the day. Held shots well and even left ball mark on the long eighth hole after going with a driver off the deck to reach the green. Putted smooth, but slower then old River Ridge greens before the new management took over. Also had a pool noodle in the bottom of the cup as has become the standard with COVID protocols. 7.5/10.

Restaurant was closed, but did see the cart girl once during the round. A good time was had by all, will return and can recommend.

Walked the back tees this afternoon 10-5-2020 teeing off at 1pm joined by a twosome who was riding. Had not played the Vineyard layout since Jan of 2018. Weather was around 80 degrees when we teed off and the back nine it got cooler and we had about a 1 club wind for most of the day that made the temps even nicer. POP was 4 hrs 15 minutes. Most of the courses in the area today were either punching, recently punching within the last couple weeks or closed down today for maintenance. The sister Lakes course which I enjoy just recently punched so gave Vineyard a try today. Vineyard punched on 9-8-2020. Typical COVID masks warn in proshop, no ballwashers, pins left in with foam. Driving range on mats open and putting green open. Super friendly staff at check-in. The fairways were in good shape. Mostly lush lies today. Course plays a little longer from the back tees than its 6700 yds due to thicker fairway grass. I was very impressed with the fairways. Rated 7.5/10 Tees were mostly level and very lush and in good shape. Rated 7/10. Was in 3 greenside bunkers that were semi damp but played very nicely with ample sand underneath. Rated 7/10 Rough was lush, mainly uniform but in some spots just off the fairways you could encounter a thicker kikuyu lie which the fairway grass and tees are(kikuyu). Rated 7/10 The greens still need some time to heal so the current yellow alert is accurate. Its been almost a month since they punched on 9/8/2020 but saw the majority of putts from our group wobble and bump towards the hole. I did feel that the greens were super soft and receptive to irons which were nice. I am spoiled by how nice I remember River Ridge greens in the past especially the Lakes course. Rating 6/10 Layout is both fun here and challenging at the same time. Several longer par 3's and 4's and you have to deal with the usual Oxnard wind. Had a good round going till I got to the 18th island hole playing 200+ with a back pin and had to do the mat of shame walk and record my double there(lol) by dumping one in the H2O. Would recommend the Vineyard Course for the tees, fairways, rough at this time. Might want to give the greens at least a week to heal and maybe be rolled. Thanks to the RiverRidge staff for having me out.

Played the Vineyard course on Saturday morning 9/26 with an 8:40 tee time. POP was excellent for a weekend, we got around in 4:15 finishing right on time to get a sandwich off property before heading home.

Typical Covid protocols were in place, no snack bar or water on the course but the staff was friendly and helpful. Tee boxes were in great shape, greens were in pretty good shape, but a few were quite bumpy, especially this early in the morning. Speed was down on the greens from what I remember from about 5 years ago, but they ran true and were somewhat challenging.

The fariways were also in nice shape, mostly lush with very few bare spots. Rough was thin but penal and the traps were well maintained. I would not hesitate to go back and actually look forward to maybe putting this one in my regular local courses to play.

My only concern was with the driving range. It's large but not marked at all. They have buckets to shoot at and large nets but if you're working on distances it's hard to tell how far the ball is going with no markings. On top of that there is a huge ridge that runs about 125 yards out and makes seeing anything longer very difficult to see land. I know, it's picky, but I wasn't a big fan. :)

Played the Vineyard course on Tuesday 8/25 as a foursome, with a tee time of 7:20am. POP was excellent at 3:45. Never waited on a shot. It was pretty foggy for the first several holes. But ended up mostly cloudy and cool for the rest of the round. Overall, the course is in good condition. Tee boxes are a bit of a mixed bag, but never a problem. The fairways are in good to very good condition. There are certainly some dry areas that are browned out. But they are in the minority. Mostly, the fairways are green and somewhat lush. On the back nine, many of the fairways were excellent, with lush, green conditions. The rough was mixed. Some areas were about 1-2 inches and not too penal. Other areas had very deep grass that was quite difficult to extricate yourself from. I was in one greenside bunker. It had very nice firmly packed sand. Easy to hit from. The greens were running at medium speed, but were medium-fast on downhill putts. Unfortunately, they are somewhat bumpy. But if you hit a good putt with the right speed it would track fine. I enjoyed the round today. I do recommend the course.

Played River Ridge Vineyard on Sat 7/18. Check in seemless, usual Covid precautions. Mask inside & around other folks... Divot mix finally back on Carts! 9*30 Tee time, off on time. Tee boxes pretty good thru out. Fairways were ok, thin, not lush, (typical for here) but coverage is good. Rough shorter, good coverage, but not very penal. The Greens med-slower. After American Golf takeover, they slowed the Greens for faster play. Seemed even slower now, but pretty good condition. Bunkers around the greens were nice. Fairway Bunks were hard packed & easy to play out of. Pace of play; we were a 3some. Front nine decent for a mid-morning Sat at 2:10, Back a slow 2:30. We didn't notice until 18th when 2 groups backed up behind a 5some what the issue was. That's American Golf for you. They also asked if we wanted to share a cart. I think that's wrong unless they mention people in the same household can share a cart. When we finished there was a line waiting for carts. Maybe invest in more? Doubtful Covid will end soon. Plus it speeds up play. I really like the course, especially in 72 degree temps rather than mid 90's at home. I Recommend.

Played today with Gkrs wsbell57 and colmcd. We got a great rate of $26 including cart by booking on the course website. We started about 11:15am, about an hour early. The starter said no one had teed off since about 9:30 so we pretty much had the course to ourselves until a twosome caught up to us around the 8th hole. I'd only played this course once before, several years ago. A few areas looked vaguely familiar but it was much like playing it for the first time. The conditions of holes 1-13 were so-so. The fairways were more brown than green, very thin with lots of bare spots. There were tons of track marks causing crazy bounces. That, combined with a 2-3 club wind, made for some interesting and frustrating shots. The greens were varied-some smooth, some bumpy- all with many unrepaired ball marks. Tee boxes were mostly level. The bunkers had ample sand and were easy to hit out of. There was a marked improvement in conditions on holes 14-18. The fairways were green with well-cushioned coverage. The greens were much smoother and held shots better than those on the front. The wind had died down by then but strangely enough, I played much better on the front in the tougher conditions. There are some more challenging holes on the back with carries over water to elevated greens. Those were my downfall today. Overall, the course is very fun and I would like very much to play again when the fairways are in better shape.

Played 11-10-19 early morning riding as a twosome for $45 and finishing in about 2 1/2 hours. Tee boxes were in decent condition, mostly level, semi-lush with the grass starting to go a little dormant. Fairways were mostly in nice shape, 70% green and 30% brown or yellow with some thin lies and decent roll out. Rough was cut down pretty low and mostly in good shape with some thin areas. Was in one greenside bunker that had very nice brown sand and easy to hit from. Greens were a disappointment, that did not look good and didn't putt well rolling medium/slow and bumpy. Overall conditions were okay except for the greens.

Took the drive to River Ridge to escape the Tic Fire. Rode the blues, Pop 4.5 hours as a foursome. Conditions on Vineyard are the best I’ve seen this year. Vastly improved from the lakes which I played last month. Tee boxes were lush and level, fairways were in great shape, traps had been manicured. Greens have comeback from recent aeration, except for three that need to heal. I was worried about it after playing lakes last month, but I highly recommend it, especially for the players club rate, $25. Might be the best deal around under current conditions. I posted photos on the app.

After playing The Lakes course last Monday, I decided to give The Vineyard course a try today (7/22). It was a nice change of pace from the Lakes course. The course is in very good condition. I thoroughly enjoyed my round. The greens were soft and receptive, ran smooth and were medium speed. Some of the pin placements today were challenging. The fairways are in great shape. They are lush with good lies all around, with an average amount of roll out. Tee boxes were fine for me, and the rough was about 1 - 3 inches and usually manageable to hit from. The one bunker I was in today, had plenty of nice firm sand. With low 70 degree afternoon temps and a nice cool breeze, playing here is a pleasure. One thing I should mention is that the 13th hole Par 5 was playing as a par 3. Not sure why. I couldn't see anything that made it necessary to move up to near the 150 marker for the temporary tee box. Even with that, I highly recommend this course.
