Played 6/10 at 2 pm with uscdodger and golfplayer91. we were the second twilight group out with POP at 4:40. We lost sight of the group in front of us and the group behind us.

The course is in very good shape. Tee boxes were level and fairly lush, not too many divots to worry about. The fairways were the best I had ever played there. They had just enough cushion to be great playing surfaces. The rough was very inconsistent, up to 2 inches in spots and dirt in others. Bunkers were good, had to remove a few small rocks but nothing too big to worry about. The greens were mostly great. there were a few spots where they were in poor shape but thankfully those spots were pretty limited and not too close to the pin positions.

Course is in good shape. Greens were very fast and rolled nicely. Fairways are good, rough is somewhat inconsistent, which is normal for this course. Great layout, always like coming out here.

Played Rustic 5/28 the day before memorial day. The conditions out here were pretty much standard rustic, medium/fast firm greens & firm/fast fairways with excellent coverage. What I find so interesting about Rustic is how influential the grain is when putting out here. The grain runs towards the entrance to the course so anything that direction is typically smoother and much quicker.

I love rustic, it just suits my style of play very well. My only complaint is the quality of the sand (basically dirt) but this kind of goes with the rugged links style here. The tee boxes were all level with minimal damage aside from a couple par 3's and when I mentioned above the firmness of the greens I meant it. Basically rock hard and required clubbing down to allow for release, even with the shorter irons. I'll be back out there soon!

I walked 36 from the blues on Sunday 5/14 with a foursome of friends teeing off at 7:40a, and then with my wife, Junebug, at 1:40p as a twosome. Weather for the morning round was perfect, around 65 degrees and maybe a 5mph wind. The winds picked up to about 15 mph around noon, and definitely impacted the scoring a bit. Being Mother's Day, POP was great...both rounds were a leisurely 4:15.

The course is in good shape right now. Tee boxes are very lush and flat. The fairways are very green and pretty lush, but are still firm and provide lots of roll out on drives. The greens are always the highlight at Rustic for me, holding lines perfectly and running about 11 on the stimp, quicker downhill. They're firm, so account for a couple of yards of release. The sand in traps were typical for Rustic, not extremely fluffy, but very playable. The rough has been punched recently, and was not much fun to play from. They hadn't picked up the plugs, so your lie could be great or completely awful. The typically lush, green thick rough around the greens was splotchy and very unpredictable. Next to the 8th green, there were so many plugs I was hitting them on to the green with my practice strokes. Not good. Hopefully, a couple of mowings will rectify the issue.

The service was great, as usual. Cart girl was around many times throughout the day, and lunch in the grill between rounds was good. Another great day at Rustic Canyon. As always, I highly recommend.

Played on 5/13/17 with a friend visiting from Texas. He wanted something that he doesn't see in Texas, so he got the links style Rustic Canyon. For him, the wind and different style of golf hit him hard and his score wasn't very satisfying.

First time playing this year and was curious how the rain helped the course. The condition has always been good even in a drought, but I think it was better. The other thing I noticed is that the bushes are taller from the rain! The ball we found last year was lost in those bushes this year.

Greens were rolling really well. Fairway was in great shape. Rough was in good shape as well. Not much sand in the bunker, but I don't think I've ever seen this course with fluffy sand.

Definitely coming back to play here again. Love the layout, good condition, and a good price is always good!

Played 4-27-17 early morning walking as a single using the birdie card for $27. Tee boxes were very nice, lush and level. Fairways were in the best shape I have seen them in a long time, very lush with real nice lies and good roll out. Rough is what you always get at Rustic, thin clumpy and bare. Was in one greenside bunker that was groomed nicely with good firm sand. Greens were in great shape semi-firm but holding high shots with spin and rolling smooth at medium/fast speed. Would recommend playing with the course in such good shape.

I played with a buddy as a twosome yesterday, 4/18, teeing off on #10 at 1:00. GDR23 posted a full and accurate review a day earlier, so I'll just add a few comments. There was some late morning light rain in the area, but it had passed by start time. The residual clouds added some visual interest to what ended up a beautiful day for golf. The playing conditions were very nice, and pretty much as GDR23 described them. The greens were the highlight — in really nice shape and challenging. The fairways had good coverage and were fine from a playing perspective, but as has been noted, they are still links-like in their firmness and relative tightness. Not as lush as many other courses after the rains. I missed the bunkers and the rough is a very mixed bag. An excellent strategic course, more than most courses it really helps to acquire local knowledge. The many options, subtleties, and pitfalls are frequently not fully revealed until you reach them. I don't get out here often, but I'm more intrigued each time I play the course.

Walked the Blues(71.6-128-6634) this afternoon 4/17/2017 at 2pm with my buddy Mack and his buddies Steve and Brian in swirling wind conditions. POP was 4 hrs 30 minutes taking our time enjoying the surroundings. Paid $22.00 which is their standard twilight rate Monday thru Thursday starting at 2pm.

The greens are in great shape. Just beautiful rolls--semi firm greens but still accepting irons with spin or higher trajectory irons. Little to no ballmarks present. For sure along with the tees the highlight of the course. Rated 8/10.

The tees were also beautiful. Level, lush, green and well maintained. Rated 8/10

The bunkers that I were in (greenside 3 and 4) were raked, firm and in decent shape. Rated 6.5/10.

The fairways were semi-firm, a lot of roll out. Typical links harder style fairways. Firm lies in decent shape. Need more water. Rated 6.5/10.

Great greenside lush thicker rough. Rated 8/10

Fairway rough--lush in places, dry and patchy in areas--tough to put a rating on it with tons of variance.

Friendly staff, great prices, fun and challenging layout--proud to call it my home course.
